Well I live out in the countryside so I don't have to worry about other people using my internet. Do you live in an apartment, estate, etc.? It is basically just to stop people getting free wi-fi by using your connection. Alternatively you could turn off the security whenever you want to game. Or try a few different settings and see if the PS3 works under any of them, then google how secure that setting is
