you should put as candidates just ex death, chaos, ultimecia (like someone said up there the thing with the time was tough that lady is crazy) and ,cloud of darkness(it's the pure evilness) and maybe garland. to me. oh and of course, Necrom and enuo is a serious sh*t too

for me all the characters of ffIX have a nice aura that you can feel and makes you fall in love so easyly of them all the enviroment of the game it's too dreamer and special is the last fairy tale of the numered titles of final fantasy so far. but if i have to make a choice maybe my favorite...

i think leonarth is the best character. you can see in the tetsuya's nomura work how he discover his style with the design of this protagonist and if you see with attention, you can found that everyone of the new generation characters have something familiar that reminds the leonarth face...
