I'd recommend to play all parts on PSone. Little LCD-TV, a couch and a nice evening :) playing on Handhekds at home sucks (in my oppinion) ;)
The PSX Controller is also very great for long time sessions :)
only FF 3 isnt available for PSX, so youd have to get it for NdS or PsP
I started this game again and have 14hrs of play, now I'm nearly at the end of CD1. This time i will focus on getting more (all) spells and use them to. I used to heal everyone only with items (elixir/final elixir) and use G.F.s and later attacks only, but e.g. Ultima or Meteor do incredible...
Hey guys, I'm interested in how you finish the game and how you level up.
For example I go through the story very relaxed, get all G.F.s on my way and level late in game.
But I'm playing much Triple Triad even in the beginning. When I'm at CD3 I'll level up to LV100 at the Secret Bahamut...
I always skip them too. For example FF8: the tut for the junction system is very boring and in this stage of the game you don't need to know much about junctioning... Later youlearn everything about it own your own just by trying things out, like materia combos in FF7 ;)
VIII
it was my first one and I love it so much!
But all the games are great, for example IX, it creates a feeling with its medival magically world that's really cool :)
nevertheless: FF VIII ;)
