What if the end of the world was just tomorrow?

If it was tomorrow...

I would quickly put in Chrono Trigger just to get ONE last play through in. And then I would refuse to die until I beat it. Not even the universe collasping will stop me from completing it! MWAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Well one day the end will come thats shure, and i belive it will be oure mistake.
Now for if i would pray no i don think iwould,i would spend the rest of the time with my kids and try to help them facing the fact for what is coming.

Now why would God not help us its not because he whant to let us down,no its because we have failed.
He gave us soething to take care of and we dont do so,why should let us stay.

The world is not going any where.

We are.

Earth will just shake us off like the mild surface irritation we are. It's conceited to think we have that big an impact on the planet. We do, in the sense that we destroy ourselves, but the planet is not going any where.

In closure I want Tifa AC to learn the English language, and I believe we should all chip in to get her to some sort of course.

In every religion or most of them, the is a time of great turmoil, devastation and ruin that takes place before a new beginning occurs. What if the end of the world was just tomorrow or just right around the corner? Would you care? What would you do and where will you be?
I would probably be letting everyone know what I really think of them, most of them know, but there are those who don't

What if another world war engulf this world? What if Heaven opens up with angels descending. What if Hades and Hell burst open with demons and the dead walking the face of the earth?
I don't really believe in any of that, but if it did happen.. I would be waiting for the alarm clock to ring me out of my dream ;)

What if the dead start raising which can't be killed with shotguns.
You kind of ruined my answer to that one...>_<

What if the natural disasters occured on large scales as never seen before such as 10+ mag. earthquakes in various parts of the earth every other day, cat. 5+ hurricanes every two weeks, volcanoes erupting everyday, raise in ocean levels, severe shortages in food and water and death and disease rampant? What if all these things took place at the same time?
Well, then I guess I would be screwed.. what can I do, I would probably do something stupid like trying to catch it all on film or something.
Still, having that on film would be pretty awesome, don't you think? ^_^

What would you do? How would you react base on your religious beliefs and unbeliefs? Depending on your threshold, what will become of you? Would you go insane? Would you stay sane?
Since I don't believe in any form of God or Satan, I would not be praying, that's for sure. And I would not go insane, it's just not me..
Maybe I'd try to figure out why this is happening and wait for someone to find a way to stop it..

But still, my first reaction would be "where the hell is my camera?"

^_^

If a god allows the world it created to fall into the abyss then they shouldn't be God.

That's classic. Why don't you seek him out then and try explaining this too him?

Oh, me personally, I'm not looking forward to the end of the world, but I guess at that point I get to retire. In an abyss or some such thing, according to prophecy. Seems about par for the course though.

God, if the end of the world was tomorrow, I'd tell my fiance to come home early and show me the light. O_O

If the world was going to end tomorrow I'd run around telling people the world isn't going to end tomorrow, because it's not.

How does one define "end of the world"? would the planet explode? Would the sun go kaboom?

Humans will either be long extinct by that point, or will have long mastered the powers necessary to save the planet from the death of its sun. Or migrated, and not really care.

If armageddon happened right now, my only thought would be to be with those I love, and make it through to see what was on the other side.

If the end of the world happened, as in no god involvement etc and just freak thing is going to kill us all, I'm going to scream a whole bunch, tell everyone I know how much I will miss them and kiss the girl I love. :)

the sheer arrogance of it... "what if the world ended tomorrow"?
My ass.
The world, the planet doesn't end that easily. As of now, there is NOTHING us puny humans can do that affects it. We can destroy ourselves and paralyze the biiosphere indeed. But Earth will go on.
As far as earth goes, we are less significant to him than fleas to a dog.

You just skipped the whole point of the thead, but to address what you said-Yes, the world could end that easily. Asteroids, nuclear devastation...do you realize how fast that could happen and how much damage could be done? We have enough nukes to destroy the world like ten times over at least. Also, while its not the end of the world, if you have ever heard of Yellowstone National Park there is a volcano under it that is well overdue to go, and when it does, half of the United States will basically be ruined.

Now, if something like that did happen, what would you do? As that is the topic.

*Not to mention this thread is more of a What if? Thread and therefore making reasons for really doesn't need to happen*

my point was with the term- namely the fact that we can destroy humanity, but not THE WORLD. No, we don't have enough nukes to seriously damage the planet per se.

An asteroid to hit us tomorrow? They don't work like that. Crash explained in the asteroid thread how mechanics work. Volcanoes don't errupt overnight either.

Again, you are missing my point. Half of the USA going is not the world. And if it happens I will sit in my flat, drink coffee and calculate the benefit to the planet :D

But if the world would end tomorrow, I would happily go to sleep tonight like any other night. The people I love know it, I have a lot to show for my life, and if I would die even i this instant I would feel fulfilled and serene.

I'd like any of the uneducated kiddies who think the planet could stop existing to actually do the tiney bit of homework and invest the slightest effort it takes to google/wikipedia the subject. The Earth is a huge radioactive ball of iron spinning around a star. It would take alot to destroy this planet, alot more than a small imagination is capable of comprehending. "All the nukes in one place" won't even scratch the surface.

There are plenty of things that could destroy the planet instantaneously.

Aliens with incredibly advanced technology.

Strange creatures from another dimension.

Angry deities.

Things out of H.P. Lovecraft's novels.

I find your lack of imagination to be somewhat disheartening. This is a thread exploring the theoretical. Drop the holier than thou act.
