Help Blitzball...a few questions.

I'm so frustrated with this blitzball game :cry: . Have looked through some guides, but really don't even want to read about this game :bored: still I have some questions that I would really appreciate I any of you guys could answer:
  • Can my players gain exp in exhibition games ?
  • How many games do I have to win to get all for wakka (overdrives and sigil/crest + weapon) ?
  • Played a tournament and lost, but now i cant play tournament again..how long before new tournament becomes available?

I do believe they do, though I'm not entirely sure. I know you can use exhibition to learn moves though.

It.. depends. I don't remember the amounts for each thing, but I know there's no set number. I'm pretty sure the first overdrive just randomly appears, and the other two require a certain number of battles won. I'm not sure on the Sigil or the Crest but I think the weapon can be obtained after fairly few games from the cafe owner in Luca.

Try playing a game or two of a league. It should become available after that.
 
Im pretty sure they dont get exp in exhibition games :hmmm:

Its something like, 250 battles/kills whatever it is, but its pretty easy to rack that amount up, I just played solidly for about 12 hours, just be sure to save after you win your last match, and if the prize isnt what you want, then just reset and try again so you dont have to play all the way through again. I managed to get through it all by playing about 44 matches I think it was, combining both tournaments and league games

Fucking nightmare, i hate it
 
Exhibition games are primarily for learning skills the best way to do this is to locate a player who has a skill you want t learn and play that team(obviously) you can do it over and over again to build up skill list.

Tournaments become available after every 3 times you open the BlitzBall menu, the best way to do this is to save before the 3rd tie you open the menu and then you can just reset the game if you dont the get prizes you are after:awesome: way to cut down on playing needless games.

Is it truethat before I can win the Jupiter Sigil, I have to win all the reels for wakka's overdrive first ?
Btw, the goalie from Al Bhed..Nimrook has mad goalie skills...cant score on him and when I level up, so do they :hmmm:
When Nimrooks contract expires do I have a chance of signing him? beeause they sign their players immediatly when they can...or so it seems :hmmm:

I used the Jecht shot and rarely missed, the lower level my team was, the closer i made sure i was to the goal and it almost always went in

A cheap way of gaining exp for your players is to just pass the ball between your players, avoiding the opposition, its boring as hell, but then, tbf, Blitz is dull as shit anyway. I'd do that, just making sure I got at least one goal in

Ill field this one: Exhibition games count as games that are played under contract so any game they play there contract length decreases by 1 and this is key to getting your Nimrook goalie chump!

When he is nearing the end of his contract keep an out for how many games the dude has left and save 2 or 3 games before his contract expires and then you can get down to 1 game and save this will give you the best chance to get him on your team , sure he might be signed up again but if that happens just reset the game.

The Psyches may get another goalie and then Nimrook is free! BUT!!! watch out coz if another teamss goalie is out of contract they might sign nimrook up b4 you get the chance:gonk: if so just reset the game and hope this dont happen.

A bit of free advice kid, Nimrook has a catch stat of 67, this gives the ultimate goalie defence, because this stat fluctuates by 50% up or down and it can go as high as 99
even higher with super goalie equipped but it cant go over 99 super goalie will just increase your chances of reaching 99..........confused?

I really hope I have had Wakka in 250 battles, otherwise I can keep reseting forever and still the prize dosent appear...

The Jecht shot works wonders in this game...just need a better goalie. Still annoyed about the fact that my games last an average of 17½ minutes :wtf: and still so many games to go....
 
Dont waste your time on exhibition games, theres no point, i never even changed my team, i just hated it and wanted it over, you dont really need to over train, once youve won your first couple of matches in the real games you should have no problem winning every other game
 
At first I played traing games....I got it all wrong :gonk:, but now I got some abillities, which is good I guess :hmmm:
I got wakka on my team...just bacause I know him. Brother fromthe airship is very fast (75) and Keepa as keeper ;) better than the first guy I had...
Was it that easy for you without any good keeper Kelly ?
 
I just passed the ball about alot, the first couple of games where abit of a struggle, but i rarely let the other side touch the ball aside from when id score, and they started with the ball, if they equalised, then id justpass about abit and score with about 30 seconds left so the time would run out before they got a chance to get near my goal again
 
Thats just the tactic I'm using...so I guess its just a matter of time before this is overwith...Is there a way to check how mant fights Wakka has been in ?
 
Theres something about the tonberry that you can use to work it out.. i think.. but i dunno, its pretty easy to rack up the fights anyway, i just started playing, hoped for the best and id obviously fought enough because i had no issues getting the prizes i needed to come up
 
Guess I got a lot of fighting to do then, none of the reels appear as gifts...just found this answer to someone elsels question:
To get Wakka's Attack Reel's you need to take place in a tournament competition.

To get Wakka's Status Reel's you need to have leant attack reels and fought a total of 250 battles(you dont need to have won them).

To get Wakka's Aurochs Reel's you need to have leant satus reels and fought a total of 450 battles(you dont need to have won them again).

Once you have leant all of these Reel's you can then get the Jupiter Sigil to inhance Wakka's World Champion weapon. It will appear on the lists of prizes to win if it dose this is what to do-save your game before hand then see if the Jupiter Sigil is a prize in the next compitition if not reset your game until it turns up.

The best way to make up for a deficient Keeper is to have an excellent Back Defensive line
You will get more situations where some one will have a shot on goal and be involved in tackling and blocking rather than a straight up shot on goal.

Meaning most of there SHOT will be blocked or even better grabbed by your defense,
or tackled and you steal the ball this is best used with the "Counter" play from the play list.

Brother is a Dynamo His speed is great for luring defenders away from your forwards and
leaving them open for shot just against the Keeper that should always be your top
choice for scoring Single Shot vs Keeper.

This may sound incredibly obvious but the game aint that hard and you just need to be aware/smart to win.

:lew: When all Blitzball players are at Level 99 on both teams and you can win 13 goals to nothing you know its not a hard game..................average winning margin: 7-0,4 goals tidus,3 goals Wakka:awesome:
 
Its not a question about BB being hard or easy, it's more about its VERY time-consuming and not that interesting for me. After I have gotton everything for wakka, i'm not going to play any more BB.
If you like BB, then you dont mind playing it, and looking for stats and strategies, but when theres something you don't like, you do not want to do it.

@GalaxyFlare: You know a lot about BB, so I was wondering if you know, if theres a method to find out, how many fights wakka's been in. Attacking Tonberry only reveals kills right ?
I keep reseting but (2 hours now) but no Status or Auruchs reels.

The battles needed for Status reels total 250 win or lose and the amount needed for Auroch Reels is 450 win or lose, Im just gonna assume you have the Jupiter Crest from
Wakka's locker?

With a turbo controller you can rack up 450 battles in no time.

Also there is no real way to know how many battles youv been in or won
there is no battle meter or a guy in a cave in this game just a Toneberry with a grudge
