So, I did a thread search and couldn't find this. Why not make it?

So, out of all the series Nintendo has made, which boss in which game was the hardest?

My choice...

Culex- Super Mario RPG

I was surprised that Nintendo would even LET a boss in the Mario series to be this hard. (although it was probably Square's idea)
Sure, it's a little better with a Lazy Shell, but without, it's nearly impossible. At least it was optional.

This basically sums up the fight.

*Elemental Crystals do some crap*
*Culex does some crap*
*Mario dies*
*Geno dies*
*Peach used Come Back*
*Geno is revived and attacks*
*Elemental Crystals do some crap*
*Culex does some crap*
*Geno dies*
ect ect ect...

Just TRY doing it without the Lazy Shell.
Got him on 2nd try though. :D

At least it has the awesome FF Boss Theme playing to. XD

Ganondorf.

MOD EDIT: Can you put a little more effort into your post please? This is classified as a spam post, and this is a post count section, so it's not allowed. Maybe give your reasoning for your answer. Thank you.

Thinking back, I can only think of a few bosses that give me problems. However, one in particular (I'm not counting Culex since I only tried to fight him once) gave me fits, and I still to this day have never beat him, and it was the third and final Bowser fight in Super Mario 64. If I remember correctly, you had to throw him into 3 bombs, but something about the fight got harder after you throw him into the second bomb. And I remember always getting destroyed at that point. Did the platform get smaller? I seem to remember having to throw Bowser quite far to hit the bombs, only to miss because of the distance.

Personally, I think stuff from the original NES was generally more difficult than that of the newer systems. There are so many old school NES games that were fairly close to impossible to beat.

I think the boss that sticks out to me would be the boss from the first Ninja Gaiden. For starters, there are 3 forms of it, and each of them have all the bars full for health. Dodging attacks and stuff was all well and good, but still wasn't that easy, then damage had to be dealt as well. I don't recall if your health carried over from the previous battle(s) or not, but it was still unrealistically hard. And what made matters worse, was that if you died, you went back to the very beginning of the stage and had to fight your way back to the boss, which was infuriating. To this day, this is still one of the more difficult games to complete. Many raging moments for this one over the years for sure. :lew:

Another one I have trouble with is the final boss of Megaman X3,
Kaiser Sigma.

First of, his body is huge, and the head is so small it's nearly impossible to hit.
This would be easy, but OF COURSE the only vurnerable part of him is his head. He shoots this huge beam that covers about 1/2 the screen while shooting out balls of energy at the same time.
I swear, this took me forever to beat...

Bloody Mary from Terranigma! When playing through the game the lazy way (almost no grinding) this boss is a REAL pain in the *ss.

I also have some trouble with the Boss from Chrono Trigger (Lavos) I just can't beat him... so i gave up playing XD now i'll retry on my NDS

Your rival in "The 7th Saga." SNES

He levels up at exactly the same rate as you, which means if you had picked his character in a previous save file, you know exactly what he's capable of doing at any given level. May Bahamut and Knights of the Round help you if you for some reason had a brain tumor when starting the game and choose the... I believe it was the Alien job class. That meant the pain in the butt Paladin was your rival. Paladin, as in most other games, can heal himself...

Throughout the game, your goal is to find something like 12ish magic crystals to beat the real main boss, who is sort of a push over, especially if you grind in even the slightest. Kinda like Dragonball Z. But at a LOT of points in the game, you run into your rival, and if he manages to beat you, he steals all the crystals and you're forced to hunt him down, and beat him. And, as the first paragraph explains, there's no point in grinding against your rival.

Dracula and grim reaper from Castlevania. I only beat the grim reaper one time by luck and cheating with an emulator. I still cannot beat dracula.

The skull kid in Majora's Mask, at the end of the game, was fairly challenging. I can't really say it was hard, but the AI seemed fairly advanced for a 64 game.

The Megaman X series had ridiculously hard bosses. Of all of them though...

The Maverick Hunters

I agree with this. I actually had more trouble with Sigma in some of them. I have Megaman X collection for PS2, and one game (X4 maybe), I breezed through and got to Sigma, but I can't beat him to save my life.

I think the Megaman series in general (Classic/X/Zero/Battle Network/etc) tend to be kinda tough, especially after you get past the robot masters, then the difficulty ramps up big time.
