Serious I got nothing

Well, I know what it feels like when you have few or no friends, it hurts hard especially when you're just a little kid and you have no friends. But the thing with me, people dont like me because I'm in a sense "different". The only different thing I see is ADHD. And trust me on this, medication just messes with your mind and it makes you dependent on it to make you feel better. Hang in there

Don't worry about what you put in your replies. Trust me, I don't get offended by anything really.
That's right mods, don't delete this seeing as the OP can handle his own.

I'm going to be frank and not give you any hollow condolences like "hang in there." You've probably heard that tons of times so it really doesn't mean a thing anymore. Plus, I couldn't really give a shit about whether you kill yourself. Regardless of what you do the news won't hit me, and I'll just continue living. Just some truth to keep in mind while you read the rest.

First off, it sounds like you really have something worth living for. Sure you made a promise but that just seems to be a justification for just living on. It's a bit absurd that the entire reason you haven't offed yourself yet is because of some promise to some girl (despite what you say your principles are). It's likely that you don't know consciously what it is, but at least your mind is telling you that life isn't worth ending yet.

Second, your problems with interacting with others socially is your own fault. You probably realized this seeing as you don't blame anyone for it. Sure you can be depressed about it, but it might be a bit more productive to actually try to change yourself for the better. Don't believe all that bullshit about being yourself because people will like you just the way you are. We live in the real world, if you rub people the wrong way, you won't make any friends. Anyway, sometimes change can be good.

Lastly, you could look into student loans to pay for your education. It doesn't sound like your parents are loaded so you could probably get some federal loans. Hell, I'm not too sure but Obama has a bill or some other about student loans, it probably won't kick in till next year though. Plus, if you milk that brain surgery story well enough, you might even nab a scholarship or two.

Final piece of advice: Don't kill yourself because you're depressed. Just because you have no friends and can't get a job is nowhere near an impossible situation. You put your mind to it and try hard enough, I'm sure you'll make it through just fine.

Oh, don't think you dont have friends, because on here, we all share a common interest and that'll make most anyone your friend!

My kind of guy.

The only thing I can think of is I've a strong desire to play my video games and have sex at least once.

I'm too lazy to be nice.

HELL no. I'm not accepting any of that fucking welfare shit. From any body. I'll get the money on my own. I despise people who get loans or scholarships.

^^
I don't know if you're just being facetious with your response or if that's actually how you feel.

Scholarships and loans are welfare? Really?

HELL no. I'm not accepting any of that fucking welfare shit. From any body. I'll get the money on my own. I despise people who get loans or scholarships.

I don't consider those forms of welfare. Loans aren't free and they aren't gifts. You are getting the money on your own and you have to repay them on your own. Debt isn't a form of welfare.

And you have to work to get most scholarships as well. I say most because some of them are based on race or gender alone. I can understand you thinking of that as welfare, but the rest? People work their fingers to the bone for some of those scholarships. They aren't things you can get for free!

So, if you want turn down help that's fine, but if you get the chance for it, remember there are some people, like myself for example, who can't get crap because their parents are in debt and my dad lost his job too late to count. I'd love to get some sort of loan or aid to help me through this mess.

And, if by any since you've ever read this, remember that I don't know you or really care, but when I see someone who is actively saying things that make little sense, I respond. And when I see someone who's been through a lot of awful things who thinks that they have nothing left, I respond. And that's why I'm posting this, even though it looks like for all intents and purpose you may never see it.

Because there are people who care about you out there, and as someone who has both thought about suicide himself and had people near him try, I can say from experience that it's almost never the right answer. But you're right, I don't know you.

But if you really thought that, you wouldn't have started this thread in the first place.

I hope that you find your stride, whatever it is, and that you don't give up!

All righty.

If you're smart enough to get those kinds of scholarships, you SHOULD be smart enough to manipulate the system enough after college to get a good enough job to have never needed the scholarships in the first place.

As for scholarships you either get for nothing or for barely anything, yes, those are pure welfare, plain and simple.

I don't want to be rewarded for being born hearing impaired. That's just plain fucking stupid. I don't want a lump sum of cash for college just because I had some string of bacteria decide to explode in growth on me and damage the left side of my brain a bit and decimate the nerves on the right of my body. That's just bloody stupid.

Really? You're serious? You're not going to get crap because you were born in a crappy situation? Wow. I didn't realize. [ /sarcasm]

No one should get anything for free.

I don't understand what you mean. You can't wait until school is over to pay for it. No school I know of is going to go "Wow, you don't want any help from scholarships, okay why don't we wait four years and then wait for you to get a job and make enough money to pay." They're going to say "We want money now!" After school doesn't matter until you've already paid for it!

Wow, you seem to have an odd definition of the word free! I don't consider working day and night to keep a perfect GPA free. I consider that work. And you don't get paid for that unless you get a scholarship. Hence, they aren't free at all.

I can hardly help the way you seem to think, so it's pointless for me to argue with you about anything. I hope that you don't really believe some of the things that you say, but I can't help you if you do.

And sarcasm is the lowest form of humor!

P.S: I'm really sorry if life is kicking you down. And I hope eventually you feel better!

But you can pay for a damn fine loan after college.

I hardly work at all and I've a GPA of 3.24, no problem.

Oh, don't worry, I do fully believe the things I say. Why would I need help if I thought these things or this way though?

Which is exactly what I will be doing.

I envy that. I hardly work at all, and I have a 2.10 GPA. How much do you consider hardly working? But I made a 28 on my ACT. Maybe difference in schools?

Well, I wasn't really talking about school so much as the suicide thing. As someone who has both first and second hand experince with suicide (as in myself and someone close to me) I don't consider something that just goes away. Sometimes, it takes help to get over it.

I guess we're on two different wave lengths, but still it's been interesting. You really seem to have a different sort of personality. That's a good thing, BTW.

This ground on me a tad bit. Sarcasm is a very good form of humor and should be used more often IMHO.

I already said this but life's tough. There is no magic solution to anything. You either use money or work for what you want. The only plausible thing to do is pick yourself up and keep going. If you hit a snag, tough shit. Find a way around it or look for help. This is why people form relationships and networks; it's a survival method.

Good luck, good skill.

Well, maybe not loans...

Loans are far from welfare. It's not a gift or done with good will. There is a contractual obligation involved between two self-interested parties. The people making the loans get a positive return from interest and you get the extra bump in cash that you wouldn't have without the creditor.

If you don't pay back your loan, the creditor isn't just going to go away. They'll hound you for the rest of your life, moreso since student loans can't be voided via bankruptcy.

Welfare is pretty much a free gift for being broke. Loans are integral in all investment strategies in not only daily life (credit cards, mortgages, etc...) but everywhere in the business realm. Too much leverage in a special kind of loan is one of the main reasons the US economy tanked recently.

Yes, yes, yes, we know all about mortgages and derivatives and so forth. Not to mention the bs that is called 'credit.'

Well, it isn't all hard to be sarcastic is it? All you have to do is say the opposite of what you mean. And it doesn't work well you can't hear the other person's tone of voice either.

Me, I prefer wit!

Sorry to derail topic a bit, but I had to explain myself.

I've also realized that I was maybe a bit, I don't know, attacking in some of my comments, and I wanted to apologize. I'm not usually so pushy! I swear!

Anway, I hope that you can go to college on your terms, because if you don't, I don't think you're be very happy there.

Good luck!

Well, this thread certainly went off topic........................................................................................................................................................

Pissing me off... All of you.
