i have a codebreaker for the ps2, and traditionally i go through a game without cheating. the second time through, however, i cheat it up. so i already started a new game and vaan is at level 50 and i just killed the rogue tomato. haha. ;)

some people might be against it, but it's like i said, i always play through the normal way first. ^_^
 
i do the first go through with no cheats or walkthrough as well. this might be why i cant get zodiac spear :( . but i wish i had some codes so i could have fun my 2nd go around. but level 50 that early... is it even fun!? lol get back to me on that :P
 
In second times i just get a guide to do what i missed. You really liked the game, i usually take a rest from the game and from the genre.
 
If you have the 99 of all items on, then your going to have a problem in archades, you won't be able to sell the chops for the sandalwood chop. Some other guy was talking about it, just a heads up!
 
I still never use codes, ever, lol. Just me I guess :P I'll maybe use the strategy guide to find out everything the second time, but that's about it for me.
 
yeah...I made it a resolution like six years ago that I wouldn't CHEAT on any games any more. So, no matter the circumstance, I never use CHEATS. but, the second time through, I use the best guide I can find on the web. Yes, yes, I know I'm a cheapskate for getting them off the web, but....they sometimes cost more than the games that I buy(I buy them second hand a lot)...the guides that you can buy I mean.

So the second time through I almost NEVER miss anything....unless, like always, I screw up. Then I either reset the game or force myself to play through again.

i do. the first time. i never cheat on my first time through a game. it's only on the second time through that i bust out the codes. why? in my opinion, it's fun!

i find it fun to have infinite health in devil may cry 3, unlimited red orbs in god of war, infinite money in resident evil 4, fast experience gain in final fantasy games. i dunno... i've always enjoyed it. but ONLY after i play through it the regular way. ;) i promise!
 
Don't forget about GTA, some of the cheats are nearly ingrained into that style of gameplay, I don't use the health/armor but always the weapons/vehicles. Same for other games, using cheats CAN enhance the gameplay AND certain things in some games can ONLY be gotten through the codes, like in PsiOps, all the characters playable, stuff like that. But I certainly do agree that if you want to be honest with yourself and truly get the experience as intended then you should playthrough at least once with no cheats (technically not asking questions/getting hints on forums like these either ;) ) then again you have the right to do whatever the hell you want anyways, so who cares?
