In the eastersand, at the village after your able to cross the river and have gotten to balofonheim. There is a guy is eastersand by the river that says he would like to fish, the to bal..heim in the section by the aerodome their is an enthuisiastic fisherman, talk to him, then go stand in front of the aerodome, but DO NOT leave the area, just wait for awhile, then go back to where he was and steal his pole that he left there. Take the pole back to the guy in eastersand and you can go fishing. There's alot to do after that, but you'll have to read a walkthrough or faq, etc for all the details. have fun!

I lucked out on the zodiac spear, I never start a new FF until it's been out long enough for some of the secrets to be online
I really wanted the genji gloves, to combine with the Masurame(the reward for giglamesh) sword and bravery and beserk, you supposedly can get some awesome, like 20,000+ hit combos out of it! With the spear and bravery at lvl 99, I hit for 9999 like 95% of the time though, even against bosses.
