Multiple Platforms Capcom Announces StreetFighter IV

Fei Long and Dan I believe have been pretty much confirmed to be appearing in the console versions with possibly Dudley, Ibuki and Sakura as well. Bare in mind that almost everything in this thread is for the arcade game. They've been saying for ages that extra charcaters will be available, will be interesting if they do that how it'll affect some tournaments.

Also this was revealed yesterday, Street Fighter will go beyond just simple colour changes and will have alternative costumes as well.

Apart from Chun-li's dress which clearly reveals her ever expanding thighs and Blanka's jungle explorer outfit nothing much else has been shown. I'd imagine that Ryu's white t-shirt + jeans combo from the Street Fighter V anime is a good bet.

Her thighs indeed, but her left arm is the sort of size that Rafael Nadal would be proud of as well.

Nice addition though, keeps it in line with other 3D games. Bets on E. Honda having a Hawaiian shirt? Sagat with a black jumper and grey trousers? I guess we'd rather not go there. :P Funnily enough, my flatmate had mentioned the thought of Ryu's SFV costume being used.

Weird...I wonder how that cell phone alternate outfit system will be implemented...I can't imagine them just not letting NA in on the fun...Maybe it'll just be downloadable content as well...?

EDIT: I saw someone mention, but her hands ARE a kind of...off proportion...>_>

I'd say Honda with a Hawaiian shirt is probable. For Ryu there isn't that much more that can be used besides minor alterations to his basic stuff.

Been looking through UDON's comics and for Balrog they can either go for a tracksuit or a flashy suit to go along with his Vegas stage.

It won't happen outside of Japan, it's too cool for us. Again it'll just be something we'll have to wait for in the console versions if we're lucky.

New animated trailer up for SF4, seems to be heavily hinting at Akuma/Goiki's return, not entirely unexpected it has to be said. It'll be interesting to see how much relevance Gouken's appearance has, since that's been one of the rumours that has refused to die so far.

Yeah you could have pretty much guessed that Akuma will make an appearance since IV is between II and III.

Looks like they've made another retcon with Gouken being in the game, apparently Ono has stated he'll be in the game. It'll now means that we'll have 4 shotos in the game now although either Gouken and Akuma are likely to be hidden bosses or something.

The game has now been released in Japan. Huzzah!

Now for some info that I've found on other forums on the final boss Seth.

Below is a link to his intro and under that is info on what moves he has, typical to form he sounds incredibly cheap.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8JhrD3wguk

- He's got Dhalsim's C.FP. (which you see in the vid)
-- He can throw Sonic Booms, including two consecutively.
-- He can Shoryuken.
-- He's got Urien's Shoulder Tackle as well as the Dive Knee, but he does it by bouncing off the wall and then flying at you...he can cover quite a bit of distance.
-- He's got the Urien/Gill anti-air elbow, and he can chain this into a mid-air sequence that ends with a Shoryuken. However, half the time he missed the SRK.
-- His throw is an uppercut punch to the gut, which sends the opponent in the air, and then he jumps up and SPD's them to the ground.
-- I saw him whiff what looked like SPD animation twice. Maybe the "regular" throw I mentioned before was the SPD, I'm not sure.
-- He's got a Bison-like teleport.
-- He can suck you towards him and then attack you.
-- He's got the Gill S.MK...? The one where he's got a lot of reach...but if he hits you, then your character freezes and gets hit by multiple invisible hits.
-- His super or ultra...he fires a burst of air at you from his midsection. If it hits, your character gets sucked up into a whirlwind and then sucked into Seth's midsection...and then he spits them out. The air burst can be blocked and jumped over with the right timing, but if he catches you in the air at an inopportune moment...he will hurt you with this.
-- While I don't think this is unique to Seth, I got hit out of ultras/super combos A LOT.
-- The first round he takes it easy, but in round two he turns up the heat big time.

Also for those interested in the home console version, apparently Dan and Fei-Long are confirmed. Still no SFIII love I'm afraid.

Guess who's back....
One of the worst kept secrets about the game.

Considering that one of the major gripes I've had with this game has been it's lack of having much new, at the expense of sticking to the same old forumla that will get the plebs who left fighting games after SSF2T/Alpha back, this just feels like another in a long line of middle fingers from Capcom.

There'd be better be a good amount of damn good characters in the console version to make up for it. And I don't mean shoto's.

Well you're gonna be dissapointed since Dan's been confirmed for the console version and Akuma is now playable and it looks like Gouken's pretty much gonna be in it one way or another. Also I highly doubt the other additions will be new characters so expect some more Alpha/SF2 guys to show up with Fei-Long already confirmed. I still hold hopes that we'll some representation from Third Strike yet with Dudley topping a few Capcom polls in the past. Some Ibuki, Alex and Makoto wouldn't go amiss either.

I'm probably still gonna get it at some point but I'm still not overly excited about it, I'm happy enough with SFIII and CvS2 atm.

This is going to be a great fighting game period.

Simply because Capcom is utilizing the strategical values from SFII (SFII had the BEST strategical fighting game formula out of any other Street Fighter game period...if someone says SFIII had a better and deeper fighting game...they are wrong), and they also utilized aspects from SFIII to create SF:IV without any of the insane garbage from both of the series.

This to me makes for a very solid and complete SF game. Not to mention, I've actually had the luxury of playing this game, and I tell each and everyone of you, the screens do not do the game justice, you simply have to watch it for yourselves.

However, the gameplay is nice, with a blend of SFII/III aspects, and the fact that I can actually space with projectiles when using Ryu has made me one very happy camper.

My only take on this is this though...do not put alot of characters in this game. I do not want Capcom to flood this game with so many characters, simply to appeal to the masses.

Because it's better to have a set roaster and focus really on the character individual, that way we can get a more diversified character roster, and way better balance, because a big roster makes for a more difficult game to try and balance period.

So far, I am pleased with what Capcom is doing, I am very happy to see SFII casting characters back, and I like C. Viper's character gameplay wise, lolz. However, my only beefs are that jump in's seem way too fast for the moment, and need to be slightly more floaty like the SF series.

Other then that, this looks to be a very strategical and solid Street Fighter game, so I'm game on that.

I've been looking at a lot of vids of IV and it does look like it would be an overall good addition to the series. What I'm happiest to see is that it seems to be fairly well balanced which was my only problem with III (which I consider better than II personally) which eventually became just Yun/Chun matches all over the place but that happens to most fighters.

Of course I doubt that everyone has been pushed to what they're all capable of but it all seems good at this stage. Sadly I won't be able to play it myself until the next big UK SF event.

Still no vids or anything to 100% confirm this sadly but this shot has been found recently which shows the full roster for the console version of SFIV. The charcaters are.

Fei-Long : Cammy : Akuma : Gouken
Dhalsim : Blanka : Chun-Li : Ryu
E. Honda : Zangief : Guile : Ken
Seth : Random selection or (please God =3) a SF3 character to be announced
M. Bison : Sagat : Vega : Balrog
Abel : C. Viper : Rufus : El Fuerte
Sakura : Rose : Dan : Gen

Now despite the lack of some SF3 loving Gen and Rose's inclusion is pretty cool and kinda unexpected (especially Gen).

I have to admit that the thought of Gen and Rose being included is pretty sweet. Although Gen may suffer from SFIV's style of each character only having one super though, I usually found one of his strengths to be his variety having 4 supers and all ( albeit somewhat signposted, 2 per stance and all ), so I don't know how that potential change will affect him.

Sakura's inclusion I find far less appealing...

Seen a couple of videos on it looking good and theres already a release date for it I might just pick it up for the fun of it hopefully theres a story to it.Even though SFII had a shit storyline it was a good one and obviously 3rd strike was a good and possibly the best SF game it had a decent story.SFIV from what I have seen takes place after SFII and Before SF III 3rd strike to I guess just saying its in between.

It takes place between Super SF2 Turbo and SF 3: 2nd Impact, which still counts as far as memory serves, although you can never be sure with Capcom and Street Fighter.

Due to this placing, I'm going to assume that Gouken's involvement is entirely fan-service and non-canon based, or else they've got a lot of retconning to do...

Im pretty sure its 3rd strike but who knows thats what I read.Dunno why seth made a new body for Vega(or as most people call him M Bison) but yeah just hope to see something good.I always used Guile on SFII.

According to what I've heard Seth is supposed to be one of M. Bison's bodies or something. And yes SFIV is based between II and III to make it easier storyline wise to include the bulk of the SFII cast. Doesn't bother me really with that and the retconning of a lot of the new additions. Before now we're meant to believe that Gouken, Gen and Rose are dead but meh it's a fighter, the story isn't really supposed to matter.

Seth remade M.Bisons body after SFII Turbo I think after he gets it destroyed by Shin Akuma on SFII Turbo.

Mega-bump! Why? Because it's out now snitches.

My inkling at the moment is fun but not up to SF3: 3rd Strike or Capcom Vs SNK 2 as far as Capcom fighters go. I'm finding it quite annoying that SHoryuken and Hadouken spams are somewhat viable again for shoto's, since Shoryuken's and EX Hadouken's seem to break Focus attacks, making it difficult for poor El Fuerte to get in at times.

And Sagat is rediculous, at least Zangief's as meaty to use as I can remember him being in a Street FIghter, although I'm finding Gouki to be a bit of a pain to deal with for him.
