Haha, I wouldn't be so quick to brush off that theory. You don't know what the future holds for Square Enix. Besides that, what's your beef with Nintendo anyway? FFVII too good for Nintendo or something?
Anyway, it would be awesome to see Before Crisis come out on the DS! We don't really have as massive of a cell phone market as Japan so it would be awesome to be able to play that game.
I can see it happening, especially since SE and Nintendo are working together again. FFIII and FFIV have came out for DS, as well as spinoffs like FFXII:RW, so I don't see why BC can't be on DS.
Personally I would say no based on that if the game was actually big enough then it would have been released on the DS. Either that or even though it is part of the VII compilation it probably provides little significance to the compilation for it to be worthy of even a handheld console. Like DoC:Lost Episode and Kingdom Hearts when they were produced for the mobile.

Then how, pray tell, do you explain the existence of Resident Evil games on Nintendo consoles? Or for that matter, Manhunt 2? Or the new Ninja Gaiden game on the DS? And are you forgetting all the portable FF's on Gameboys and DS?

And hardcore gamer my ass. Any real hardcore gamer puts aside console wars and looks at quality of games and gives kudos where due. Nintendo has always been on top of their game and they have always been the innovators in the industry. Sony's dual shock? Modified rumble pack. Sony's Sixaxis controller? Crap version of third party Pelican's controller for the PSone. Pelican's controller? Much more functional version of the Power Glove. Yes, that thing was a horrid piece of crap, but it was extremely innovative for its time.

Hardcore gamer my ass. Hardcore gamers are typically receptive of all genres. And your statement that Tactics is crap is completely invalid, not only because it's simply your opinion, but because you yourself said you don't like strat games so it means nothing to you.
The DS is slowing down? What planet do you live on?
I know, the graph is a bit old, I'm merely posting it to prove a point. The DS has been kicking the shit out of the PSP ever since its release. That's because Sony seriously screwed it up, just like the PS3. There were the joystick issues, the UMD thing which totally flopped, its library STILL doesn't hold nearly as many worthwhile games as the DS, and it's more expensive. And face it, Nintendo just has more experience when it comes to handhelds. They know what they're doing, Sony doesn't.
Now will BC get ported to the DS? Possibly. But it will probably just remain a phone-only game, I haven't seen any instances of them porting phone games to handhelds.

sadly most of those games you pointed out suck and most of them are only owned by children under the age of 8 so nintendo is mostly for noobs the few good games it have are hard to find and little heard of. i dont mean to offend anyone but this is mass opinion my friend get used to it the ds is history within the next year reasons
1 it just comes as a consol system with built in chat for ppl within a few feet. were as the psp comes with plenty of other useful apps.
2 the addons are expensive and a pain in the ass to use. the psp's are easy and free
3 terrible graphics . doesnt even compare to the ds
4 touch screen not that interesting (personal opinion)

Pokemon kicks the shit out of you. It's entertaining and extremely addictive. I loved it when I was 12 and I still love it 8 years later, that says something right there.
Phoenix Wright games I haven't played, but I've heard they're good.

Nintendogs = doggy version of Tamagotchi. And do you realize how utterly ridiculous it is for you to say buy a real dog? You obviously have no concept of just how expensive owning a real animal can be. And what about people who live in apartments? Most won't allow pets.
Brain Age - not my thing, but there are plenty of people out there who like puzzler type things like it, and it's good for older people to keep their brains in shape.

From what I've heard, the PSP is alot more trouble to figure out and set up. The graphics aren't "terrible", they're about PSone quality (the rendered CGI cutscenes are PS2 quality). And real gamers care more about gameplay than they do graphics anyway
As for the touchscreen, it seems to work quite well. They've even managed to incorporate it into the new Ninja Gaiden game successfully. But...Atari and Sega aren't in "history" yet, they're still around, they just stopped making consoles. Nintendo is a powerhouse. They know what they're doing and they'll be around for years to come. In summary:

I've played all of the Phoenix Wright games and they're very involved, have a excellent cases, lots of drama, interesting characters, pretty much the game sucks you in. Erm... OK... The PSP hasn't got that many to begin with, and even so, it requires the internet to do so, annd, they are way to slow to use

On Topic: I have read about this game. It looks really good. The ability to choose who you want to play as is a very nice touch.
I just really hope they bring it out for the DS. It'll work so nicely for it.

hey sorry about my bad spelling but hate to tell you nintendos losing its edge the only reason people even buy a ds is because of the word NINTENDO nintendo is losing its edge i am not a sony fanboy and i dont take sides all im saying is nintendos losing its edge it once owned the handhelds that age is coming to an end ds has sold well for basicly 2 reasons the word nintendo and the fact that nintendo used to be the only company that could make a decent hand held also i own pokemon diamond its not as great as you say it is its worth maybe 1-2 weeks of fun at the most. once again no offense. please dont bother to make a response to this post saying as i wont be bothering to return to this part of the forums the fact is bc wont come to ds because sony owns ff7 basicly.
