The Compilation is not over!

By most Final Fantasy fans, the compilation of Final Fantasy VII is percieved to be the release of the games "Before Crisis", "Dirge Of Cereberus", "Dirge Of Cereberus Lost Episodes", "Crisis Core", the films "Advent Children" and "Lost Order" and the short stories "On a Way To a Smile", and "The Maiden Who Walks The World". Some fans also speculate and hope that it would only make sense that after the release of the lastest title "Crisis Core", what would only be left is a remake of the original Final Fantasy VII. However, This is not the case. A Square Enix Press Conference claims that the "Compilation" is planned to go on untill the 20th anniversary of FF7 which is in 2017, nearly a decade away.

It is definately a safe assumption that different viewpoints and opinions about this matter is going to be vast, the biggest two arguments being on one side "SE is whoring out something so dear to so many hearts for another Decade!", and on the other "more Final Fantasy VII for another decade!".

My opinion on this matter is pretty optimistic, I personally don't mind more Final Fantasy VII content. It to me is sort of like your Favourite band, releasing EPs revolved around the same era as one of your favourite albums from them. I Just enjoy completing the puzzle that is the FF7 Story by getting different viewpoints displayed in each release. The news also gives me hope that if they havent started a remake yet then they still have 10 years to make a good one, even if they dont start in the next 4 years (2012), They still have 5 years to make a really good game. Also imagine the technological advancements that will be made in 10 years.

This isn't really new, they stated something like this back in 06 how they intended to keep it going for another decade or so. Buncha greedy, money-grubbing whores if you ask me. People ARE eventually going to get sick of seeing Cloud's piss-yellow spikey hair and seeing Sephiroth walk through fire for the millionth time, even if they do like the characters. SE needs to stop taking the easy way out for money with Nomura and VII and put some damn effort into making quality games.

I can see them making a Sims version. They could have you raise eco-terrorists in Midgar. They might make a Gold Saucer game for the Wii with all the minigames and such, like boxing and snowboarding and those godawful chocobo races. Frankly I'm surprised they having come out with a VII kart game by now, I'm sure all the fangirls would wet themselves seeing a chibi, bobble-headed Sephi and Cloud in go-carts.

It's really extremely lazy of them to keep relying on fans to rake in money. For god's sake, they're Square Enix, they don't NEED to do that. Enix had been doing great for all these years with Dragon Quest and whatever else they made, and the Square name instantly drew tons of fans. If only more people had sense enough to boycott all this Compilation crap.

You don't think Nomura could actually come up with anything original after his initial character designs currently being used in who knows how many different games.

They aren't just going to let the FFVII compilation rest in peace.
When the cash cow starts to die, perhaps they'll move on to something more original, or milk a later game. I wouldn't mind a few spinoffs of newer games, but the amount of stuff done for VII is absurd.

Really, one thing that would be great, would be a compilation of all the older games for PS3.

I don't think they ever forgot about it, Im sure they haven't forgot about the others either, yet they haven't needed a thousand spin offs. I honestly think all this game needed was like a sequel for closure and that's it. Oh and a remake, that goes wothout saying.

There's leik, five (give or take a few) damn games of Final Fantasy VII and a movie. That's not 'milking it a little bit'.

Final Fantasy VII isn't the epitome of epic win, in fact it's quite fail with all the bullshit they keep adding to it. All that they really should've ever released is Advent Children and Crisis Core, coz nao we have all this bullshit with vincent, weiss, and Genisis with the secret ending of Dirge of Cerberus and Hajime Tabata the director of Crisis core has said they're not done whoring the compilation, so they've probably got one or two more Final Fantasy VII games on the way.

Before you know it, Final Fantasy VII will BE the Final Fantasy series.

All these games are just for 2 things:
A) moniez
B) hoaring foar moniez

A little bit? I would not call AC, Last Order, Dirge of Cerberus, Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Episode, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Final Fantasy VII Snowboarding and the two novellas a little.

i'm starting to hate Final Fantasy VII since the compilation came out. I even stupidly bought into it; AC and DoC.

i'm glad to be one of the gamers who got FF7 before the compilation came to be, but i probably wouldn't play it again much since it'll remind me of the monotonous DoC and the nomurafied CC.

GAAAAH, before long we could see a Midgar MMO on the horizon, but luckily, MMO's don't do well at all in japan so we're pretty safe on that front. as for a FF7 remake, i doubt it would happen, maybe on a PS4 / PS5 perhaps, but i would physically melt the game if it happens, and youtube it too!

What really baffles me is all these people who are introduced to VII through Advent Children, and when you ask if they even got it they say they understood it perfectly. Lying little twats probably didn't do anything but wank to the visuals. It would be impossible to understand AC without playing VII first, even I got lost a few times in it and I've played VII.

If you've seen "The Animatrix" they have a different art style for each short. I think SE is trying to replicate that in game form.. but instead of art style, they change the gaming style. Now Final Fantasy VII is SE's baby, therefore they're not gonna be quick to make a colossal bad desicion like make a puzzle game or MMO or something like that apart of the compilation. So when they decided to make each game different, i think they thought this out well and planned out which games are gonna be made and how they will play. So we aren't gonna see anything ridiculous. Every story i enjoyed so far and i remain blissful because all the new content SE is giving us. So how can u not be greatful, who cares if they're "milking" it. SE is giving you good new content about a Story everyone loves. Without any offence intended please stop all your bitching. If you don't like one or two of the games, thats your preference not SE's fault. If you thought everything in the compilation sucked, frankly your opinion does not matter because odds are you don't like Final Fantasy VII or the whole series. But seeing AC made me want to play the original game. That's fair enough IMO, but I agree it probably shouldn't have gone further than that. I did enjoy DoC a little, or I wouldn't play it again, and probably will be same with CC, but they are pretty unnecessary.
