Losing weight

Hmm, heres a little more straightforward expination, your body needs energy to function, energy is measured in calories. Dont quote me on this but I think 2500 per day for a man and 1500 for a woman (I may have got that wrong), you eat food... calories go up... you excercise... calories are burnt.

So, if you eat your quota, you will stay the same weight, eat less, and your body will use its reserves to burn fat. Eat more and your body will store it.

It really is that simple. And I dont buy the psychological aspect, other than the fact that every fat person (and I was once) just doesnt like the fact that it takes time.

Correct.

There's also that of switching diet plans every week. Yes, that's right, your body gets accustomed to the food you inhale. So, if you start a diet (Like no carbs), switch the diet up the next week to all carb diet after that. Your body, if done correctly, will not know how to store this food properly since it is a different substance each week.

Eventually your body will get used to it, though. That is, if you repeat the same style over and over. That's why you have to make it random. ;D

Stop with the carbs allready, its the simplest of all discussions. Eat less and lose weight.

Its a fact! But I think I understand your point, doing these various (and usually) expensive diests are just not going to work in the long run.

Usually there is a programme that goes with it. Example Weight Watchers

Not every diet needs a program. If you want to diet, it can go by self-will alone. You just have to choose what you want to do for that week. You don't need any Atkins and Weight Watcher stuff.

Find a way to incorporate jogging into your lifestyle. While it sounds like you may have some difficulty pulling that off, jogging is probably the best way you can lose fat.

Everything seems to have been covered. Don't eat fatty foods (dur), drink lots of water, and stay active.

It's hard getting into a workout routine, but it pays off well.

First off, there is no set number for men, or for women, or for both for that matter. Each body is different, and therefore each person will have a different number.

Secondly, there's much more involved than just silly old calories.

As for the psychological aspect of it, you have to go into more detail. How could your mind not play a large part in determining how you eat, how often you exercise or any other factor that determines weight?

Eat less and lose weight.

Its a fact!

This is quite possibly one of the worst weight loss related sentences that has ever been said... ever.

Eating less will only cause you to lose weight once your body has begun to burn off more stored fat that it feels comfortable losing. When you reach that point, you will indeed begin to lose weight, and fast. However, there are two problems with this. I will explain them briefly but if you want a more in depth explanation all you have to do is actually read my previous posts.

First of all, once you start losing weight from eating too little, you will not stop until you start eating food in decent amounts again. This is how anorexics manage to drop to such a small, and frankly disgusting, state. Then, after you achieve your desired weight and start eating normally again, your body will start storing everything you eat as fat because it is scared that it will not be fed properly again. Hence, you can very quickly become bigger than you were to begin with.

Not to mention all of the internal damage you do by simply "eating less".

Secondly, if you eat less, but still enough to not quickly drop your weight, you will actually gain more weight. Your body will start storing everything you take in as fat because, as I've said at least three times in this topic, your body will be afraid that it won't be given enough food to work properly. Your body needs food to get it's energy and stay alive. If you deprive it of food it will do it's best to store as much as it can in order to keep you alive until more food can be taken in. This is a simple matter of survival from your bodies perspective. It doesn't want to run out of nutrients and die, so it stores everything you eat as fat.

Once again, you're damaging yourself internally the whole time.

Not everyone can be a nutritionist, and most people don't need to be. But, if you don't know what you're talking about, you shouldn't give people advice. You can harm them by giving them false information. I suggest doing at least a little research before giving people tips on how to keep themselves healthy.

After all, you wouldn't want someone like me to train the surgeon who may one day need to operate on you, would you?

Replace anything you ever drink with water and eat soft foods. Not the most pleasant way to lose weight, but it'll work >.>...
