Do you have to go to church to go to Heaven?

How can anyone answer this? Seriously how can anyone answer?
Go to church if you want to go. I think living a sin free Christian life is enough, but I dont know cause I dont talk to the Lord Almighty.

let me consult God...like you do every day XD

 i jest, i think that to go to heaven you just have to be a good person in life - not a perfect person but a good one, because if you say you HAVE to go to church to go to heaven it raises all sorts of horrible questions like...which religion is the right religion, which place of worship do i go to ETC

Well, to my knowledge the Bible does ask that you have fellowship with other Christians; however, I don't remember it saying that it was a prerequisite for getting into Heaven.

You do not HAVE to go to church in order to get into heaven. The only requirement, according to Christianity since I am assuming this is the Heaven that you are talking about, is to ask for forgiveness from God Himself. That is pretty much the purpose of the Bible: to show the plan that leads to salvation and to be in Heaven with God. Everything, from Old Testament to New Testament leads to that.

But I think what you are talking about are the parts in the New Testament where Paul is writing letters to all the churches with instructions. Some of them tell the people of the church to commune together for fellowship. It follows the idea of "it's easy to snap a twig, but a bushel of twigs is hard to bend". Church is meant to be a place to come and worship God with others, and to share with each other. If you can do this without church, then there is no problem.

I personally am able to worship best when I am alone in some wilderness area. There in the stillness and among natural things, I feel the closest to Gos since I am further away from society. Henry David Thoreau is a good example of this. He was somewhat of a hermit, but was very religious. How ever many times you go to church is not what God is going to be looking at, but he is going to look deeper within.

Basically claiming that you know the answer to this question is probably a sin in some way.

And church...is man made, meaning the answer to your question is probably no, and I'm probably going to hell.

There was a time there were no church as we know so all that men and woman dident go then dident go to heaven, well thats hard to believe.
No i dont think so.
Well if you could tell me the main thoughts about Heaven what is Heaven so i could tell you.
but i thin its good enough if you're a good person and dont harm anyone.
If you believe in what ever you believe in,and if you stay up for it.
There will be the day we all will meet our judge and then we'll see what happend.

to answer your question to the best of my ability ide say no ... as long as you trust, honor, and believe in God ...ask for forgiveness when you need/dont need it ... pray for others and yourself .. acknowledge him as the one and only then i dont think you should have a problem passing through the gates when that time come. you just have to pass the judgement .... follow your heart, use the bible as a guideline, but from my understanding .. God wants you to do for you, and not just because your being told to do so ... thats why everyone is born with free will ... you decide your own fate, but you are told what you have to do to ensure eternal salvation ..

thanks guys! I asked one of my friends and they are are reeeaallllyyy christian, and i asked them that question and they just replied with an I DUNNO... so thanks guys! you are all good friends!

Its says in the bible " Get the Sabith Holy" which means respect the Sabith and Conslut that day to God, it dosent say that you have to go to church but i dont really know i go to church every Saturday and wedsday soo yea

Well...if you believe in heaven...then you are obviously a religious person, and thus should go to church anyway. It's a fairly self-explanatory question. Me personally, I don't believe there is some after-life waiting for me. When I die, that's all I do, die.

Not all christans go to church... i dont go to church every Sunday...but i try to make it but sometimes stuff comes up..so NO you dont have to go to church to go to heaven

I guess I'll answer the question directly this time...

No, I don't believe that one has to attend church in order to be accepted into "Heaven." If I'm incorrect, then I'll be burning with a lot of people. Haven't been to church in well over a decade.

Frankly, most of the people who attend church just go to comfort themselves. "I go to church! I'm guaranteed to get into Heaven now."

The whole thing is ridiculous, I think.

I don't go to church. Haven't for 7 years because why waist a sunday getting all prepped up to sit in a pew for 2hours...... ew.

And on top of that, i've got a 1 way ticket to hell :P
And im happy :D

I'm not a Christian but I will throw in my lot.

If there was a god, do you honestly think he cares if you sit bored in Church? Of course he bloody wouldn't. If you beleive in him then get your ass into the countryside and worship him in his own suroundings, not some architects!

The standard answer to this question is that you must go to church on a weekly basis for approx. 14 years and 6 months or 36% of your lifespan (which ever comes first) before you gain an all access pass to heaven, but there are some exceptions. If you're a preacher/pastor at this church, you gain an extra year of church time for every 6 years spent, UNLESS you happen to be a preacher at the Church of Satan, in which case you lose 50% of all church time spent. Depending on your denomination, you can get 3-6 month bonuses for each child brought on a regular basis.

Donations to churches can make the process even more complex. There is a set minimum on how much money you have to give each year for them to count, though many religions now offer "loans to salvation" which offer free church access with the promise that you will pay them back in the afterlife at high interest. You can now even pay a bulk sum to a church early on to finish all of your "counted" years at once, often at a high discount.

Generally, though, filling the minimum requirements are not too hard. I just recently became eligible for a pass, but I hear you get slightly better spots in Heaven depending on how long you donate.

I'll sell you mine for $500. I'll have saved up enough years for another by the time I'm 30, anyways.

We obviously will never know if going to church gets you into heaven.
That's a job for the Mythbusters. ^_^

But seriously though, it's almost the same as what church members did hundreds of years ago, practicing 'indulgences', or paying money as a means of getting out of purgatory for a few years.
Where did that get them?
Being hated, of course.

I don't think you need to though, as I suppose you only need faith to get into heaven. I mean, how are you supposed to go to church with work on Sundays, or important developments on Sundays?
