Final Fantasy Tactics Advance LP

Second Episode

I don't know why the first 8 seconds is blank, probably messed up something by mistake when putting it together

I'm curious to why you have chosen this title of all the FF Games as your first Final Fantasy experience? It's just one of the more lesser known titles.

Do you generally enjoy S-RPG's than typical turn based ones?

I've been meaning to play this myself, while the opening of the game sounds childish I do like the concept of the game, but I struggle to enjoy grid based mechanics in RPG's...

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy V's GBA version on Emulator on my PC, it's the first time I've played it and by far the best way. I'm using the VisualBoy Emulator & a PS4 controller wired up to my PC. (And yes I own the original game too :P)

I'll be sure to check it out when I can :)

The game means a lot to me. One day my dad gave it me along with a copy of KHII. I remember him telling me that finding an actual copy of FFTA was very difficult. I still have the actual game, but lack the system for it. The only system I have, my DS lite, is completely out of commission.

I am also using the same emulator, but how did you get a controller to work with it? I would much prefer that over the keyboard

And lastly, I have always liked the sort of "tactical" format of these grid games, like Fire Emblem and X-com, however, this one has always stuck out to me and is the one I remember playing the most of.

Good luck with your game experience :)

Good to see another let's player around here!

I'm looking forward to seeing how you deal with the judges and their rules. That's probably the hardest thing about this game 0_0.

Oh neat, I did also get The DS FFTA2 aswell, but this one does look more appealing, considering how good FF5 looks on the emulator, I might give it ago sooner :

... This is on a 32' 1080P Screen!... compare that to a DS screen which is just laughable.
As for using my PS4 Controller, I am using a programe called Xpadder:

U can just put the buttons of your keyboard and sync them to a button of your plugged in controller - I assigned Q as my Triangel button. Then just go into the Emjulator controll settings and put them as the correct keyboard keys and your set.

I'm using Windows 7, but my friend with Windows 10 said he had major issues with it to where it disconnected his keyboard driver completely... so sort of hard to advise really.

Yeah, I'm using windows 10, so I probably shouldn't use that one. I guess I'll look into something that will allow it.

Bad news: I accidentally overwrote my saved game while trying to get a controller set up. Whats only a punch in the face is that I can't even get it to fully work and I have no sound as long as the controller is plugged in... I'm such an idiot. Well, so much for making life easier

Further bad news: well, I got it caught up, only took me an hour. But later when I went to record my next episode, I found that the audio didn't record. Apparently I didn't have my headset plugged into the right port... I can't catch a break. So much for trying to get one more vid in before the end of spring break

I guess I'll give the recording a break and try again sometime next week, from then on, I'll be doing a video a week. The trade-off being the videos might be longer, since otherwise the progress would be slow only doing a single mission a video. With the videos being longer, it will take longer to process, so in the end it works out

see ya in a week... if school doesn't kill me first

I would recommend making multiple saves. It's saved me so many times when the capture card decides to spontaneously stop working :wacky:.

P.S. I've moved this thread into the Let's Play section for you. Just to make it easier for people to find :).
