Why is the game hated by a lot of fans?

i think its a brilliant game, its my fave one tbh. i love the story line. i think the reason it gets alot of the attention is because its really the first one anyone had herd of down in the uk. i could be wrong on that, so dont slam me for it lol. the majority of people really liked the game and the storyline and the reason for the crisis core spin off was because so many people wanted to know what happened before in the game, like about zack as he had stories with cloud, tifa and aeris, they all knew him, at least i know i did.
Just because some people like the game when others dont doesn't make us thoughtless and it isnt drivell. it was a great storyline. People are allowed their own opinions without being insulted.
 
fact is not every1 is goin to lik the same game
every1 doesnt lik call of duty and every1 doesnt lik gears of war (i luuvv both :D) but the fact is that if ppl hate this game thats fine its not a sin or a crime to hate FF7 (I personally love it)
 
hmmm, could never hate FF VII. It has one of the best OST, great roster, decent story, and love the mini games. I rather dislike the ones who place it on the highest pedestal and also how SE took their time to constantly remind us how great it was but didn't bother to the same to a few others like I IV VI IX
 
It's a shame this debate exists, but my belief is that it's the spin offs that are hurting it. Any piece of fanservice actually goes against the image of the original game most of the time- the look and feel of Advent children isn't at all like the game. The game actually feels like more of a blockbuster despite having such limitations, which is what makes it so special, but the minute you start purely pandering to the fans you start losing the whole product and what made it so special.
 
Huh? People actually HATE FFVII?!?! :gasp:

I can understand people starting to get tired of the whole compilation thing but hating the original released PS1 game?? Each to their own and that but it's pretty hard to hate a game as epic as that!! I can say that at least 7/10 people would say that FFVII is the best game in the series.
 
IMO the reason FFVII was so popular to begin with was becouse of the previous games, everywhere the game was sold pre-orders filled almost immediately especialy in my area! i was lucky enough to get the second last pre-order available in my town... and thats the following it had before it was even released! it was the first FF game to be realeased on a platform so much more powerful that any of the previous games the old die hards loved, and with such great leaps in gameplay and graphics that was all it needed but throw in huge swords and crazy haircuts with a *cough* well endowed female and you had enough for generations of fanboys\fangirls to come. with its prematurely over developed hype it manged to rake in tons of players who never even touched an RPG before and became the biggest FF to date.

i think the reason alot of ppl didnt like it is becouse it just had alot of really long and boring parts that seemed to drag on, be it super long dialogs, summoning knights of the round... or maby that clouds background didnt immediately make a ton of sence or seem that cool until a few other games were released. i wouldnt say it was a bad game i thought it could have been better, and most music (but not all) just seemed a tad dull and boring. at least thats my assesment.

oh yeah i thought it could have used a bit more comedic relief like most of the other games had and a little less emo-ness.

In my view the game games characters are not good first and then it is not so interesting.As far as I am concerned games should be interesting one by one but this game is not so interesting going to the other stages.This my opinion on this game.
 
I seen FFVII get alot of hate from LoZ fans. I have no idea why. I always saw LoZ:OoT and FFVII being in compatition with each other. Maybe because they were some of the most popular games back in their console gen. I dunno really. I like them both. I can't really see why those games were always pit against one another.

Actually, I disliked FFVII before I actually played it just because it was so overrated. Same with KH. I hated KH because of all the rabid fans, and becuase all the characters had insanely large feet. I mean those things were huge. I always wondered how it was possible they could even walk. o_O
 
I think one reason why it is hated is because of Cloud. I mean like, compare Cloud with Snake (from Metal Gear Solid).
Snake is being all super-badass and is confident etc, while Cloud is being more sensitive. If a guy is a little bit sensitive, the character is considered "gay" by the public face.
And if the main character is "gay", then the whole game is "gay". And if the game is "gay", then the game is bad. Simple.
(If someone wonders, I don't think Cloud is "gay". ^_^ )
 
I dislike the game because how much its been milked. Yeah, I say that alot. If you dont like it, some ninja fanboy comes crashing at you demanding to know why you hate Cloud and Sephy. And whatever you answer, the reply you get is "Well .... youre gay!!!" Wow, mature arent ya?

I think people dislike this one is because of the hype and add ons it received. Its not really fair on the ther games. Maybe if SE did things equally, like a movie here for 1 game or an anime movie for this one, etc, then maybe people wont hate it as much.

I agree, word for word.

FFVII gets the most attention from SE because, I believe, the MAJORITY of FF fans love it. To many of us, SE is a company. To SE themselves, they probably see themselves as a business more than anything. And like all businesses, they focus more on the majority of the fans instead of all of them. Like WWE with their PG rating.

I don't hate the game, but I used to. Now, I just accept the fact that there will always be the rabid fans who want to keep it alive by any means necessary.
