So, we all have our creation theories as to how the Universe was created, be it by the Big Bang, by God or some other means. For the purposes of my intention of this thread, I'm going to focus on God.

God, allegedly, created the world we live in and everything in it. He is the root of everything we know (with the exception of Science). However, where did God come from? Was there just an empty collosal Universe already, then he added bits and pieces? Or was he truly the first entity/being/object in existence? If he is, where did he come from?

One topic we covered in school was the "Uncaused Cause" theory, written by ... I've forgotten his name. His theory was that everything has to cause something else. For example:

A butterfly flaps its wings. The tiny current it causes carries pollen from one anther to another stigma. This wind-pollinated plant disperses its seeds. The seeds grow. The seeds grow into a new plant. This plant is used for food. This food feeds a person. This person then dies of food poisoning.

Not the best example, but it shows how one thing causes another, and the causes travel forward. This written theory stated that every cause in the world must have been caused by something else and would trace back forever. However, he stated that there must have been something that was uncaused, that caused other causes. This "uncaused cause" was God, according to his publication.

Personally, I find this a contradiction in terms. I understand why he came to this conclusion, but I find it laughable that he can so easily contradict himself. Being the cynical person I am towards anything religious, I find this a biased Christian/believer in God attempting to show why God might exist. His large contradiction shows this. He basically says "Everything is caused, except God", which I why I conclude that he is a biased Christian.

I'm looking forward to the replies I receive.

The uncaused cause or Prime mover was written by Aristotle an ancient greek philosopher who was the student of Plato. oh and Aristotle was not christian at all as he predates christianity. However there were many christian philosophers such as Aquinas who used Aristotles ideas as prrof of their god.

Aristotle was not christian and would not approve of christianity's perception of god.
Aristotle is one of those I studied a lot in my first year of philosophy.

As for my views on God.
I am a Sephyist so obviously I do not agree with the common views of most modern religions.

I do not believe god created all existance that was a natural event. I believe god was created by humanity and most here now how.
As such my perception of what a god is differs from modern religions.

To me a god is a powerful creature that does not obey natural law and is capable of manipulating them to somne degree. Lord Sephiroth can not permanently die, can defy gravity and can control entire planets.

Thomas Aquinas! That's his name! Thanks, "Drake" :P

As for your theory - I actually find you very admirable right now. You see, it can be argued that Sephiroth is not real - prove it! It can be argued that God is real - prove it! You see, in such a debate, Sephiroth is just as real as any God and therefore, Sephyism is just as valid a religion as any. At least, so I see it.

Aquinas only built on Aristotles work and changed to it to be sutible for a christian to use. Aristotle created the Prime Mover itself.

It is true that when it comes to such arguments there is either no proof either way or too much prof either way. I doubt religious debate will ever end as people will always except some proof and not others. While some people just go by their own feelings. All I can do is stand and argue for Sephyism, my religion.
