What the hell happened to Gogo!?

I've reached the Final Dungeon In the Gba Version now.
And i started equipping all the characters. And I've reach Gogo and, I always equipp him/her (whatever) with a merit Award(in the PS version) and in the Gba Version I can't equip the Award.
 
I don't know exactly wut happened but his equipment sucks. The much better part is that you can put 3 abilities of your choice on him
ex:
blitz
steal
magic
