Wark!

Kuraudo would have to be my favorite videogame character of all time besides Tifa. He's one of those unique heroes that you can't help but love... with the spiky hair and the big sword. He's also quite the dumbass, with "Let's mosey" and all. He doesn't have the perfect man qualities that his friend Zack had, but that just makes him a more complex and damaged man. By no means does that make him "emo", it just makes him more real and not everyday do we get to see a hero as fucked up as him. Throughout the FFVII Compilation we are able to see Cloud's development and growth as a character, and his journey through his life. His story is an interesting one, full of twists and turns but in the end he manages to make it out alive because he realizes that he has friends beside him who love him and all that jazz. So please, give chocobo head some love here. :3

Enjoy!

Childhood..
cho129ib.png

Cloud childhood (along with Tifa's) isn't explored in detail until the revelation of the lifestream sequence.

Cloud has always had a life of 'strife', and it's safe to say his childhood was a very lonely one. Being an only child raised by a single mother, Cloud never had the emotional security of a father to look up to. He typically wore simple clothing; gren hair and white shorts. His spikey hair also incorporated a small ponytail.

As a child, Cloud rarely mixed with the other children of Nibelheim. To a certain extent, he was even looked down upon by the adults of the town as well. While seen to be rather odd and even hostile in the eyes of other people, Cloud was actually a very shy boy. His obsession of Tifa from afar during his younger years lead him to great lengths to get her attention, though his concern for her safety had cost him. His burning desire to be a hero and prove his strength resulted with Cloud being very hard on himself despite being at such a young age. Cloud's childhood took a turning point when he summoned the courage to ask his childhood sweetheart to the well, accouncing that he was going to pursue his dream of joining SOLDIER and become like Sephiroth.

As a teenager, the Nibelheim incident took away most of what Cloud held dear. After witnessing the incident in the Mako Reactor and the fiery demise of his hometown, Cloud then lost 5 years of his adolescence to Hojo's twisted experimentations.

The promise remains to be one of Cloud's most profound memories from his childhood, one he has remembered despite his identity crisis and insecure psyche.

Final Fantasy VII

wp12fi4jy.png

Cloud is one phucked up little nugget when we are first introduced to him in the game. He is at the age of 21, decked in purple first-class SOLDIER gear with a cocky attitude to boot. Originally meeting Tifa at the Midgar trainstation, she finds it hard to ignore the fact that Cloud had changed drastically from the shy little boy from Nibelheim. He claims to have been ranked first class of Shinra's elite force, but seizures and periods of weakness/insecurity hint that Cloud's psyche isn't as stable as it should be.
When Cloud exits Midgar, he leaves with a troupé of various people including Barret, Tifa, ****** and Nanaki. Later on, Cid, Yuffie and Vincent then join him on his journey.
Cloud, the protagonist and leader, is a troubled man in the game. His quest incorporates three objectives; to find Sephiroth, save the world, and find his true identity. Cloud greatest adversary is Sephiroth, the legendary General and SOLDIER. Cloud has always had a burning wub hatred of the man, and has pursued him for revenge on behalf of his lost loved ones ever since the demise of his hometown. Cloud's identity crisis escelates gradually during the game, even turning to veggie!Cloud when the truth of the past hits him with full force. Only with Tifa's help and confirmation in the lifestream sequence does Cloud find his true identity and break away from Sephiroth's manipulative grip.
Cloud's personality is a simple one, though his actual character is very complex. A common misconception about Cloud's character is that he is very moody and cold, similar to Squall from FFVII. To a certain extent, this is true, but Cloud's character is also tender and socially awkward; a young man with a good heart. He can surprise you with his genuine warmth sometimes. The lifestream sequence gives the most detailed revelation of Cloud's character; it being a literal insight into his very mind and heart. When the true events/past of Nibelheim is shown, we realise that Cloud has always taken the shame of failure as a very hard blow, and that Tifa (a tender memory and secret wish) was one of his core motivations to be strong, a hero.
Cloud had overcome many personal challenges (Jenova/Sephiroth's manipulation, identity crisises) during the game and managed to lead AVALANCHE in saving the world. After it all, he looked forward to starting a new life with his girl by his side.
Cloud's life has been the most traumatic out of the FFVII cast; this being a connection/reference to his surname; 'Strife'.

Battle
clodbattle4do.png
Cloud's chosen weapons are various swords. At the beginning of the game, he wields the hefty Buster Sword originally belonging to his deceased friend Zack. Being a main character, and inevetably included in every battle, Cloud usually has the highest HP and Strength of the group.
Cloud's ultimate weapon, Ultima Weapon, can be gained by defeating the monster; Ultima Weapon (look, I couldn't word it any other way xD). Confront him (Ultima Weapon) when he's near the waterfall at Junon, and he'll start to fly. Be a persistant little twit by chasing it and crashing into it a few times, until it eventually settles at Cosmo Canyon. Defeat it for the last time here, and the weapon is yours.
Ultima Weapon will be more damaging depending on Cloud's health. The higher percentage HP he has, the more devastating the weapon will get.

FFVII Compilation

cloudsketch0bh.png

Cloud is featured in many titles across the FFVII Compilation.

Advent Children

kuraudo6kv.png

Cloud is featured as one of the main three characters of Advent Children, and the main hero. His AC self is decked in a sweeping black outfit. It incorporates a long skirt attached to his hip that's set to the side and a black cloth on his arm that conceals his Geostigma scars.
Though Cloud originally emerged from the aftermath of meteor victorious and at peace, his character has detereoriated as he fled his family to live in solitude in AC. The warm, upbeat young man with peace of mind that we witnessed at the end of FFVII has now been reduced to a broken young man who is not prepared to die. Geostigma cripples him physically, and he has been reduced to a self-pitying mindset; dwelling on his ast failures and craving for forgiveness from ****** and Zack. Only with the aid of his friends does Cloud learn to fight again.
Cloud's story in AC is one of redemption. When discarding the black cloth covering his Geostigma scars, Cloud also rids himself of his 'dilly dallying'. Though the path to earning it required him to fight, Cloud earns peace, forgiveness and healing at the conclusion of AC. He returns to his family and friends, whilst not ceasing to forget the dear memories of two special people from the past.
Before Crisis
bclos3qn.png
Cloud is featured as a lowly Shinra guard in Zack and Sephiroth's shadow in the cell phone addition to the Compilation. As quiet and awkward as ever, Cloud is shy of Tifa recognising him in fear that she'd see that he failed to join SOLDIER.
Dirge of Cerberus
clouddoc7ek.png
Cloud takes the backseat as a main character, now taking up the role of a cameo in Vincent's sector of the compilation. He pimps his cell phone with Tifa and Barret while showing off his Fenrir and sword in the epic war scenes of DoC. Cloud is also shown momentarily as AVALANCHE cheers Vincent on in his fight against Omega Weapon.
Last Order
cloudlo0qn.png
Cloud is in the Last Order OVA decked in Shinra-guard attire. Along with Sephiroth, Zack and Tifa, Cloud was also a witness to the demise of Nibelheim and the incident in the Mako Reactor. Throughout the first half of the anime, Cloud is injured/unconscious; relying heavily on his best friend (Zack's) support. Though he pales in comparison to men like Zack and Sephiroth, who are higher in Shinra's ranks, Cloud's potential is showcased when he shows a high endurance for pain as he stands up to Sephiroth.
At the end of the anime, however, Cloud is comatose yet again as he escapes Hojo's experimentations with Zack.

Kingdom Hearts
cloud30rt.png
Cloud is very soft-spoken and sombre as his Kingdom Hearts self. Decked in a somewhat Vincent-ized outfit, complete with a claw and bandaged-up sword, Cloud spends his time in KH1 looking for Sephiroth with the aid of Hades. Along with the young hero of KH, Cloud is also searching for his light and tells Sora 'not to loose sight of it'. In contrast to the young boy, though, Cloud is lost in darkness. An unlockable FMV in the Kingdom Hearts 'Final Mix' version of Kingdom Hearts showcases Cloud's epic confrontation with his darkness, Sephiroth.
Cloud is available for Sora & co. to fight in the Coliseum. He also gives Sora the ability to perform Sonic Blade.
Kingdom Hearts 2
kh2c0kw.png

A "SOLDIER" who effortlessly wields a hefty sword. He once fought with Sora and his friends under contract with Hades. Cloud hates letting other people see what he's thinking, so he can be an enigma to other people.

He searches for Sephiroth, hoping to settle things once and for all with his inner darkness.

Cloud gets his own sidestory of light and darkness in the second installment of the Kingdom Hearts series. Decked in his Advent Children attire, Cloud retains his stoic and heavy facade from KH1, although he is more assertive this time around.

In KH2, Cloud's black clothing is a result of Sephiroth's influence; his darkness. Throughout the game, we can see Cloud's sidestory progress in various scenes. Cloud pursues Sephiroth, though he is actually being pursued by someone himself; a certain someone who posesses light. A pivitol scene in regards to Cloud's sidestory once the player defeats Sephiroth in a challenging battle. Cloud's battle with Sephiroth in the KH2 Showdown of Fate is epic and continues into another world.

You can also fight Cloud (along with Tifa, Leon and Yuffie) at the Coliseum.
