Virginia Tech Shootings Leaves At Least 30 Dead

Wow. Just wow. I saw a video of the shooter on CNN today, and I'm still in a bit of a state of shock from it all. I'm sure we'll get a flood of news about this by tomorrow, but for now, this is all the information I can find...

Any comments?
 
omg. Seriously, this is a very sad thing.
My heart goes out to the families of all those that have passed.

It makes me sad that this will probably be spun in some way to fuel someones political agenda.
 
They said on Sky News there are at least 31 dead people already confirmed!

It the biggest university shooting so far i believe...they say the individual had two 9mm handguns and just walked in and started shooting!

Man more innocent people die in America...i´m just choked poor families!

Do they have confirmation that it was a asian guy?

One of the phonecalls from a student who got shot in the arm stated that it was a asian guy with a leather jacket!

Questions like that make me detest the state of society. Do we really need to clarify that it was an asian guy? Maybe he was black, or persian, or white? Does it really matter? No. But news reports it because people want it so they can feel safer in they're isolated "ghetto" communities.

Sorry for the rant.
 
Well if they're trying to nail who the assailant was... that matters.

But yea, I have been looking at this for a little while now. it's horrible. I mean I don't think anyone was expecting it. I don't think they were prepared at all.... and that probably means that it's a nice community where something horrible happened and that's all there is to it. But man, it really is a shame.

And I do agree with you MR on something you said earlier, I can hear politicians going insane on this already. Clinton especially with her being so anti-gun.

It´s not a racial matter i said one of the students who was shot said the guy was asian and weared a leather jacket! Don´t know if it´s yet true or not...i guess will find out in the next hours.
 
I guess the gunman must of just snapped. Geez, this is just awful.
 
They say it was only one shooter but it´s not yet confirmed...and they arrested the boyfriend of the first victim (a girl in the dorms) but while the police was questioning that guy other shots started!

It took two hours from the first to the second shooting two hours!

How can there be a two hour gap!? 30 people could have still been alive if it weren´t for that same time space and actions were taken in more haste!
 
Many say it was time for the Gunman to reload and re-strategize. Apparently after he killed teh girlfriend, he woulda stopped unless he just wanted to kill as many people as he could (which he did).

It could ahve only taken him a few minutes to get to the other location where the second wave of murders took place, but he took time to prepare again and continue his rampage.

Almost 8 years to the day after the Columbine killings. (April 20, 1999 if I remember correctly.)
 
Yeah but with all the turmoil that probably took place after the first shooting i would have guessed the police should have completely isolated the area...i mean they had 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Man this is so sad to me I just heard about this yesterday and it was a real sad story knowing that ppl are dead now makes it worse for me.
 
There was a total of 48 people shot. 33 people including the gunman are dead. The gunman took his own life after shooting the 30 people in the study hall. 15 people are wounded, some severely. The gunman was only one person, an Asian man in his early 20's who was a student there. What caused his rampage? Who knows. As far as I know, he had an arguement with the girl in the 1st shooting, a male advisor came in to protect the girl and ended up shot, then he shot the girl. 2 hours later he invades the study hall and goes on a shooting rampage with 2 .9mm semi-automatic handguns. WTF is this world coming to?
 
Hmm, if that is the case the first 2 shootings might of been "temporary insanity" shootings. Or at least shootings that occured without any planning. And then when he realized what he did and what had happened, he decided to just go on a killing spree. Who knows? Maybe when he shot those 2 people... he liked it?

In any case, he now holds the "record" for the largest single killing spree done by one man in the US. :/
 
I was watching the video on a friends laptop while I was in class. I actually started crying after watching it, I feel bad for all those who've lost friends or family members over it. It's events such as these that make me afraid to go to school, or anywhere public for that matter.
 
The murderer left a note blaming the "rich kids" and saying it was their fault!

Still he was able to buy in the most legal of manners 9mm handguns! It´s sad that this incident will probably not change the law of the current weapon possesion in america...

I saw some videos were two students were in the classroom were the guy first entered and started shooting they said he just had a serious face withought any sine of hatred and first shot the teacher and then started shooting random people in class until he went into a different room...i can only imagine their panic at that situation!
