I thought I would start a debate with those that knew what went on between development team Monolith Soft moving from Square to Namco.

For those of you that don't know just refer to the Xenogears wikipedia or something (if there even is one).

Anyways, I thought I would bring this up because I think its lame for Square-Enix to hold the license for the Xeno project when they aren't planning to do anything with it. The writer of the Xenogears project (Tetsuya Takahashi) now works for Namco and he also wrote and directed Xenosaga.

However Xenosaga cannot be confirmed a prequal unless Square-Enix gives up the rights to the game. On top of that the Xeno series is supposed to be 6 Episodes long. I doubt we'll be getting an episode 4 anytime soon but we definately need a conclusion to this series.

Its probably too late for Square-Enix to make any propositions as well because even if they did something like find away to get back some of their staff that left with them with Monolith Soft then Namco will probably not wanna give up the rights to the Xenosaga series.

EDIT:

Also I forgot what it had to do with it but theres a connection between Project Kid (Chrono Cross) and the possible 3rd installation to the Chrono series but Square messed up on funds or something and they had to abandon the project. This supposedly all took place between Xenogears and Chrono Cross' development (which is why the 2nd disc of Gears has more cut scenes or something along those lines... I used to know the whole story back then...).
