I've been trying to get Tournesol for a long ass time. However, Getting the items required is time consuming and I don't have a lot of patience. The ones in green are ones I'm having difficulty finding.

How do I get the High Arcana? And I finished the hunt for the Garif dude for the first Soul Powder. Where do I get the other two? Help with this would be great.

Did you buy the canopic jar from the bazaar yet? If you do I think the chances of getting high arcana as drops increases.....unless tahts just arcana...I havent tried getting the tournesol myself yet because I have impatience issues like you, but Im SURE having the canopic jar helps >_>

Have you got the Esper Adrammelech from the Zertinan Caverns?

If not, go find him, equip some thief cuffs. You are able to leave the battle and come back as much as you want. So start the battle, steal until you get a High Arcana or whatever else, leave back through the way you entered, then go back in, steal again.

With that you can get as many High Arcanas as you wish.

If you've already got him, then you'll just have to steal from what other Espers there are left or make your own by selling 10x Arcana, Feystone and Soul of Thamasa.

Oh man that was such a bitch! It took forever to do it. You need the hunter's monograph for this, helps collect rare loot i think.

Hells Gate Flame - dropped by cereberus, after you chain about 50 together! best just do it with one character, best to do it in the walk of stolen truths in the feywood.

Snake Eye - chain Basiliks together in the feywood, snowy areas. may take a bit of time for these to drop, but not as bad as hell gates flame!

Snake Skin - giza plains, serpent there, very easy drop!

the rest you can steal from rare game, I can't remember though. hope that helps a bit!

Got to the Feywood and look for the Cerberus foes. They are like the wolves but have flames in their mouths, steal/drop from them.

--Soul Powder(x1)

You've got the one from the Ixtab hunt, right? If you need more, there's a Rare Game foe called "Vorres" in the Necrohol of Nabudis, steal from him.

--High Arcana(x1)
Steal from any Esper, check my first post in this thread.

--Snake Skin(x4)

Giza plains, there's a foe Wild Snake. He might not appear straight away (if you're in the right place) so you may have to wait for a minute or so. Good thing with him, he's easy to beat, plus you can steal a snake skin from him, and he'll also drop one when he dies.
--Serpent Eye(x2)

Defeat the mark "Marilith" for one. Then in the Feywood, look for the Basilisk foe.

Just giving additional help, don't want to repeat...

High Arcana (3 ways)

1 - Canopic Jar; sell Horkarthy's Flame, Phobos Glaze, Deimos Clay from the Trickster, Gil Snapper(?) and the petition named 'Crime And Punishment' (you fight a flan-type monster). With the Jar, all monsters will drop Arcana(s) (not 100% every kill), and all rare game will drop High Arcanas (buy specific Monographs to increase chance).

2 - Sell 10 Arcanas, 1 Feystone (from Entites and Elementals) and 1 Soul Of Thamasa (best monster to get from imo is Oversoul in Necrohol).

3 - Of course, steal from Espers

Serpentarius (2 ways)

1 - Steal from Zodiark (common steal, I think)

2 - Defeat all Espers and Montblanc will give you one as a reward

Soul Powder (2 ways)

1 - Kill Etems in Henne Mines (you can do this on the way to steal from Zodiark and getting the reward from Montblanc!)

2 - Steal from Vorres, lure the Black Elemental in the Hall of Ivory Covenant (may need to enter/exit to spawn) to the north, and Vorres will appear.


Note: Lvl 99 Red Chocobos can drop both Empyreal Souls and Gemsteels (and Ribbons too). Unfortunately, chances for them to even appear are slim.

I'd just like to add that Soul of Thamasas are a VERY rare drop from Oversouls and an easiers way to obtain them is to steal them from the RM Ishteen, found in Barheim, the East-West Bypass(this area is only accessible after you've obtained the Barheim Key from the sick traveler in the village in the Estersand, the one you helped make well)... Go into the Bypass and wait for Ishteen to appear, it can take a couple minutes or a couple seconds... Once he appears steal from him with Thief's Cuffs until you get the Soul of Thamasa, then go 2 areas away and return, steal again... Just make sure you DO NOT KILL HIM as he drops a trophy and never appears again... You can do this as often as you wish...

For Hell-Gate's Flames, there is no easy way, the best way I found was to chain Cerberus' and Tarturus'(since they r both wolves both add to the chain) until you have enough... You should only really need 2 since Montblanc gives you one as a reward for one of the hunts...

Damascus Steel can be stolen from RM Anchag in the Paramina Rift, Kill all monsters in the area just outside where you would find Fafnir and he'll appear, steal only with Thief's cuffs and DON'T KILL HIM... go 2 areas away and well, you get the idea...

Scarletite can be stolen for the RM with the weird name(he appears with the Adamantitans in the Cerobi Steppe, hes a giant tortoise) just be sure not to kill him until you have all the Scarletites you need... They also drop from Emeralditans in the Nabreus Deadlands but that takes much longer...

For Snake Skins, use thief's cuffs and steal from the Wild Snake(yes, only one appears in the entirety of the Giza Plains, right next to the Wu-type creatures, the big bird things) and then kill it for hopefully another one... and Seprent Eyes have already been mentioned...

Wargod's Bands can either be dropped by Leynirs in the Nabreus Deadlands or stolen from RM Victanir in the Nam-Yensa Sandsea... IDK where exactly to find him, but I've been told he's half invisible, like the Baknamys sometimes are...

I hope this helps, I've gotten Tournesol 3 times, in 3 times through the game, and only this last time did I obtain within a reasonable time, using the information above... I believe the Soul Powders and Souls of Thamasas were the most excruciating the first two times...
