Chapter 1

An explosion shakes the ground as the students widens their stance, as the smoke clears it reveals a crater where the explosion took place.
“Well done, Ms. Sophia” A middle aged, halfway bald man in dark blue robes stated.
“Thanks, teacher” she smiled as her long deep red hair moved in the resident winds from the explosion.

This is a normal day at Danle School. The students are taking advanced classes in spell casting, where today they are allowed to cast mid level destructive spells based on their element.
The school itself was a series of buildings placed inside a circular wall with a tower in the center. The placement of everything was made it so that the tower and the surrounding wall acted as a sundial. The south exit marks 6 o’clock.

“Next up, Mr. Moss!” the teacher shouted out, making sure that Sophia had her spell casting noted on the list he was carrying.
From the crowd a young boy emerged, 19 years of age with the same uniform and cape as everyone else around him, the main difference was that he wore circular wireframe glasses and had short brown hair.
“You’re Earth, no?” the teacher asked.
“Yes” Moss simply answered as he gave a nod.
“Ok, you will be making an earth golem, and take down that target” The teacher commanded as he pointed at a stationary wooden doll resembling a knight.

The young boy nodded as he turned towards the target, closing his eyes as he lifted his wand closer to his face as he concentrated.
Starting to mutter the magical words the wand started to glow slightly until he pointed it at the ground a few meters ahead of him.
A bright light shone from the ground for a second, and in that second a figure rose from the ground. It had the looks and shape of the common knight in full plate armor with a helmet covering his face, at his left hip hung a double edged sword. The main difference was a hint of brown coloration to everything about it.
Simply a wave from the young earth mage was enough for the golem to sense the master’s order. Drawing its sword it took the necessary steps ahead and in a diagonal slash ending at the lower right of the wooden target, the top half of it fell to the ground.

“Well done, Mr. Moss” the teacher stated as he noted down the information. “You can dismiss it now”
As ordered the boy pointed his wand at the golem. “Dismissed” was the order which made it fall to the ground as rubble, before being drawn back into the earth where it came from.

“Next is…” the teacher was to announce the next student but caught one of the other teachers rushing over towards him. This one wore a similar robe as him, but it was colored a dark red.
“Jon!” the running teacher shouted as he got closer, a small amount of sweat drenching his very short black hair.

Jon did not say anything at first; he just waited for him to get closer. “What is it, Strael?”
Strael did not reply until he got close enough to whisper into Jon’s ear.
“We… err…. Have an issue, the summoning did not go as planned” was all that he stated in his ear before taking a step back, allowing Jon to take it in.
Jon’s left eye twitched for a second before he cleaned his throat, “Everyone, class is dismissed for now, take an early lunch” was his order, before he followed Strael away from the training grounds.
The students naturally being happy about an early lunch, but at the same time being somewhat confused as to the reason, did as any self respecting student of any social class would do, a single loud cheer marked the early lunch.

A few minutes later, in one of the basement levels of the tower, behind a guarded door Jon stood with widened eyes and a firm grasp on his wooden staff.
“What is this?” he asked the other men in the room.
“Erm…” a man in the same school outfit as everyone outside started as he brushed his shoulder long white hair out of the way.
“What is it, Nolis. What did you do?” Jon asked in a firm tone. “This is not what you should be doing for your test today”

Nolis was not of the normal elements as the others, where everyone else had one of the base 4 elements, Nolis had one of the 2 extra that was unusual in itself. He is a summoner, a conjurer; he is able to summon creatures and items from the magical void.
“I think I messed up the markings or the chant” he stated, scratching his chin as he was clearly expecting to be chewed out from this.
“I initially planned to summon a set of living armor not a*” Nolis was interrupted by Jon
“A human!?” Jon stated harshly. “You know that summoning of humans is a sin.”
Nolis was clearly put back, and had a forced smile on his face as he tried to explain his way out of this.
“But, I did not mean to, I must have*” He was interrupted by Jon again
“Screwed up?” he said again, long since stopped being his polite self.
Looking over the naked male that lied on the floor he was slightly surprised that this one had past shoulder long hair, Jon sighed. “Well, this is the reason that we do this in a closed room. You know that a summoned human never ends up alive, you know why, right?” Jon said as he looked at Nolis, if nothing else hopefully the student would learn from the ordeal.
“Summoning or making a human is not only illegal and a sin due to other reasons, but there are no mages that have enough energy or understanding to create a human.” Nolis stated facing the ground in shame.
“Good, at least you know it. I will have the principal appoint a fellow summoner as your teacher from now on, to make sure your markings and chant is correct, until then keep to the simpler things” Jon ordered as he relaxed more, taking a more common stance.

Tilting his head towards a guard, Jon again sighed as he pushed his glassed further up on his nose. “Get someone to dispose of the corpse, please”
“Yes, Sir.” The guard stated almost as a cliché, but waved someone over and changed the order slightly to make sure it was done with a subtle touch.
As the new soldier, wearing the same chainmail and leather armor as the last one walked over towards the human male in the center of the magic circle, he took care not to disturb the markings.
Being slightly superstitious as everyone in the kingdom, he nodded gently towards the corpse. “I’m sorry about this” was said as a mini prayer just to be on the safe side.

Jon turned around to exit the room; his first intention was to report to the principal.
A sudden sound of commotion behind him made him turn back, and what he saw made his jaw drop.
On a second glance he was not the only one with this reaction, all the guards as well as Nolis himself had their jaws as open as humanly possible.
Though, the most surprised one was the guard appointed to clean the mess, as the corpse was indeed not dead, confused and fearful eyes marked his face as a dagger was pointed at his throat by one hand and he had another around in a headlock.
The summoned human was alive, this was the first time Jon had heard about anything like this, and it should not be possible.

The summoned human started to speak, but the language was nothing like anyone on the room had heard, so naturally no one replied.
After a minute of awkward silence Jon tried to work as the ambassador of the group. “We mean you no harm, please put down the dagger and we will work this out.” Putting on the best face he could given the circumstances.
The summoned man made a confused face, apparently he did not understand them either though something in his eye supported that he was not going down without a fight if it came to that.
Starting to move slowly towards the exit, the summoned one nodded at everyone and wanted them to move inside the room so that he had the opening alone.
Caring for the guard they followed his orders as best they could, ending up clearing the way out of the room while allowing the naked man to slowly move outside.

As soon as he had maneuvered himself and his hostage guard outside, he slowly closed the door and used a set of spears to jam the door from the outside.
The ones now locked inside naturally rushed to the door, but did not take the chance to force it open, not yet.
“Are you there?” Jon stated towards the door, aiming at the guard.
The summoned one looked into the eyes of the guard he had hostage, and with menacing eyes he held up one finger, that he then pointed at the door. The guard translated that to that he was allowed to say one word as reply.
“Yes…” the guard replied, this made the others wait for the moment.

Looking around, the summoned one started to undress the guard slightly; just enough to steal his pants, the guard still had a loincloth on him, where the pants how made the one summoned slightly less naked.
Dragging him to the stairs some 10 meters away from the door, he thought for a second.
Stating something in his weird language but with a tone that made it sound like he was apologizing made the guard confused.
Suddenly the summoned one cupped the guard’s mouth with his left hand, jamming the dagger in the guard’s right thigh and twisted the blade. This made the guard shake violently and a muffled scream bounced between the cold stone walls, pushing the soldier into the wall the summoned one ran up the stairs.

The others in the room were beginning to get worried, Jon was mentally playing with the idea to make the door fall with his water magic and hope to knock out both parties.
As he inhaled and prepared to do the magical words needed.
“He is gone. Hold on” Came from outside, everyone in the room let out a sigh of relief, the guard was alive and not badly wounded by the sound of his voice.
A minute later and the blocking the doors were removed enough for the others to force it open, revealing what had happened.
The hostage was fine beside a deep wound on the right thigh; one of the guards took off his upper torso armor and used the cloth shirt under it as bandages, by ripping it apart into long strands that he used to stop the bleeding.

Jon had by long since left the room and darted up the stairs, the guards made sure the wounded on was ok before 2 of them ran up the stairs where one was left to help the wounded one walk after them.

The summoned one had found his way outside after some sneaking around and knocking a few guards unconscious. Being in slight awe and in deep confusion as he saw his surroundings he shook his head, snapping out of his confusion for now, running to hide and escape the walls around him.

A sudden ringing sound echoed across the school area, everyone outside looked at the top balcony of the tower where Jon now stood. Beside him stood an old man with mid back white hair, and just as long a beard wearing the same type of robe but his was gray.
In front of them both stood a woman with long green hair, fastened in a high ponytail wearing a light blue robe.
“Attention all students” she started saying, using her magic in the realms of amplifying the airwaves to act as a speaker so everyone could hear.
“Follow the guards and stay in your quarters until further notice, this is not a drill. Further information will be given later” After this she seemed to relax a little, no doubt from stopping her spell, as she entered the door she came from.
Every student outside, as well as inside, were confused but followed orders, walking towards their quarters. Many were discussing what the reason was, though most of the class outside assumed it had something to do with why Jon was called away.

The summoned one heard this as well, though he understood nothing at all from it. He assumed that the ones he locked in had escaped and used the information of the language barrier to their advantage.
Cursing to himself he understood that he was at a very bad position here, and there were a score of youths between him and what he saw as the only exit from the walls around the place.
Having temporarily hidden in a small alleyway between two buildings it was only a matter of time before they found him where he was.
He needed to get out, and the open gates became more and more alluring, though how unguarded it was given the circumstances.

Suddenly hearing some commotion from a few buildings away, he saw some guards nearing the alleyway he was in, sadly they were no fools.
Not taking the chance in case someone was in the alleyways behind him, he entered an open window on ground level of the building he was beside and silently closed the window.
Hiding there as he heard the armor boots running past it, he sighed in relief, he was not caught yet at least.
Turning to the sound of a gasp he found what seemed to be a 14 or so year old girl with shoulder long pink hair and a rather petite body, wondering for a second why someone had pink hair, he changed those thoughts to the glowing stick she was pointing at him.
Mentally asking himself what she was going to do with a glow stick while he had a dagger the question changed very fast when the wooden floor under his feet started to grab around him with long tines.
His confusion entering panic at this point, in his mind there is no way this is logically possible, though the tines were tin and he had a sharp dagger allowed him to get free from them. The young girl seemed rather tired though she was still pointing the glowing stick at him.
Not taking any chances he darted forward, knocked the stick out of her hand and ending up with her in a chokehold and a knife to the throat.
Speaking to her in a low tone, begging her to be quiet though he knew she would not understand but hopefully the tone of his voice would mean something.
It became clear to her that he did not really want to harm her; just that he was afraid and wanted to be left alone. Ironically enough he took a hostage to make sure of this.
Taking her with him up the stairs slowly he kept his eyes and ears active for incoming activity.

Having been sitting still with a dagger to his hostage’s throat for several minutes, he did not want to stay still for too long as he assumed a room check would start if it had not already.
As he was about to knock his hostage out, he noted she was sleeping. His confusion rose as he was not certain if she was faking it to get the jump on him. Looking around for a few seconds, he ended up using the bed sheets to tie her up so he could escape without her attacking to telling anyone.
A few seconds later he found himself in the same alleyway he was in before he entered the building, now using the room between the outer wall and the houses to sneak around he aimed for the main gates.
Oddly enough no one seemed to be around, the grounds were clear most likely to whatever the female voice announced earlier, but were where the guards?
Shaking those effects out of his head he looked around, carefully making his way to the gates.
Looking outside of them he saw a tree line in the distance but nothing to define as life. The word Freedom! Went though his mind as he chose to run though the gates and head for the tree line.

Rounding the stone pillar he got several meters away from it as he heard a low bass growl.
Looking up for the first time since he exited the house he came from, he found out what made the noise.
It was a light blue dragon, or at least what looked like it, he was far from sure. His eye twitched for a second before he let out a scream in terror and ran a random way while still looking at the creature that was going to eat him.

Waking up in a dark room the summoned man looked around himself, his mind explained that it was just a dream and he was safely in his bed at home.
Though throbbing headache lived in his skull he was happy that it was not real. In a slight half sleep effect he aimed to get some painkillers and got out of the bed heading towards the bathroom. Though as he neared the door he realized something; this was not home, this was not his room.
His headache did not make this any better but looking around he noted he was in a prison cell looking room. A door in front of him that looked to be of heavy duty iron with only a single opening of it that was barred off.

His left eye twitching a few times until he gave up, falling to the cold floor his brain told him now that this was not a dream, and he must have hit his head as he ran away from the dragon.
Wait, dragon? Do those exist? What about what the little girl were doing, Magic?
He sat in a daze for several minutes before he got up, deciding to take it as it came, it would be easier to think as the headache left.
Walking over towards the barred off window as he rubbed the sizable lump on his head, he noted something in the sky.
3 moons!? Not only this, but he did not find any of the common constellations. Every light source he could see seemed like it came from fires and candles, this included the streetlights.
Sitting down on the bed, sighing deeply he said in his own language. “It seems I’m not home anymore” as he had a sad smile on his face.

Ok, chapter 2 ended up complete before any reply.
Come on peeps, Id like some comments please.

Oh, the plot might not make sense until chapter 3 or 4 it seems.
Chapter 2

What seemed like ages later, judging by the shadows on the floor from the moon he assumed between 30 minutes to an hour had gone past, the door was unlocked and in the opening stood an old man in a black robe with long white hair.
The old man tried to speak to the summoned one, but to no avail as any attempt on dialogue failed as no one could understand the other.
Suddenly the old man took out a wooden staff, which looked more like an upturned tree with its roots in the air; he started saying even weirder words as the staff slowly beginning to glow.
Oh crap, went though the summoned one’s mind as he did not know what would happen, he wanted to try to push him a way, but as soon as he moved at all the guards made a gesture that showed they were ready to draw their swords.
Having no options he hoped that it would not hurt and that he could use it to escape later.
As the man said a word louder than the rest, his staff stopped glowing but instead the glow transferred to the summoned one, being severely freaked out to all of this, there was really nothing he could do about it. Though even guessing this he tried to rub it off his body to no avail.
A minute later the glow disappeared. “What did you do to me!?” he shouted at the old man.
“Try and guess 3 times” he smiled widely.
“Why should I guess, what did you d*” the summoned one stopped himself as he realized what had happened. “You made me able to understand you…” he muttered after a second of thinking.
“Right you are-“ the man in black stated. “-I am the Principal of this school, Cia Larr, you can call me by any of the two.” He introduced himself as he made a nodding bow with his head.
“Then, Cia seems usable”
“So, what might you be called?” Cia asked the summoned one.
“Call me whatever you wish” he replied, thinking that it might sound better at first if he had a name that were more appropriate for where he was at the moment.

Cia thought for a minute, though knowing the circumstances he could understand him not wanting to reveal his name without reason.
“I’ll call you Jin then.” He suggested, knowing that Jin meant something along ‘man’ in a dead dialect.
“Whatever” the now named Jin replied. “What do you want with me, where am I?” Jin continued asking, not really happy about the circumstances.
Cia smiled slightly. “You are in the holding rooms of Danle School; a school for up to advanced level spell casting students. One of our students who specialize in summoning and conjuring made an error, instead of his planned result you ended up there.” He stated, guessing many things that in turn made him all the more interested.
“Erm..” Jin replied unsure about more or less everything. “I don’t think I’m from this world” he explained uneasy.
“Oh, why is that?” Cia replied.
“In my world, we don’t have magic in other places that games, movies and stories. We have technology instead” he explained, doubting that Cia would believe him.
“Oh, so that is how it is.”
“Wait, what?” Jin replied, clearly confused as to why he accepted it so fast. “You believe me?”
“No, not really, there is an investigation in place before I can say if I believe you or not, so give it until tomorrow and we shall see” Cia stated as he left the room, where the guards closed and locked the door right after.
Jin sighed deeply as he sat down on the bed, falling to his back shortly afterwards. “If this is not a dream, then what?” he muttered to himself.
Looking at the ceiling became boring rather fast, though in his exhausted state Jin fell asleep fairly fast.

As this interview between Jin and Cia took place, a high ranking summoner had been called, and was currently inspecting the magical markings as well as the chant used to summon the human from a different world.
After a few hours of painstaking checking and double-checking everything, as well as to comparing things to a mountain of notes and symbols. The man in black robes and long blonde hair smiled towards Nolis and Jon.
“Well, thing here is that you used words that does not exist, as well as for a few improvised symbols.“ He started as he pointed out a few underlined words on the sheet displaying the chant, as well as some symbols that he had marked with a ring around on a drawing.
He continued explaining “None of these exist, and have never been used previously as far as we know, so wither you have stumbled upon a few forgotten words and symbols, or your fake ones crashed with the real ones. Whatever you did you ended up summoning human from somewhere else, rather than creating him as you should normally do.” He explained which made sense in its own weird way.
Moving the sheets of paper towards a candle he lit both in flames and threw them to the ground allowing them to disappear to ash, shortly after he began destroying the magic circle on the floor.

“You are either a genius, or an idiot. For your sake in this matter I hope for the latter, or the wrong kind of people will be looking for you” the summoner grinned. “Never speak of what happened here.” Were his final words before leaving the room, both the magical words and the magical circle destroyed beyond repair.
Jon reported all of this to the Principal before it was hidden from eyes.

Jin was torn away from his regular dreamless sleep by the sound of metal hinges that were well in need of lubrication. Again reminded that this was in fact no dream, sighed as he looked at whoever opened the door.
“Cia, it is too early to see your face” Jin stated as he pulled the sheet of fabric supposed to be a blanket over his head.
Cia smiled widely “It is noon, and I have something to tell you.” He stated making Jin pop his head back out.
“We have decided to allow you to roam around campus, though you will abide to our laws and rules. We are using the cover story that you are from a distant land but you have a light amnesia from a blow to the head, this will be the story for now so please try to stick to it.” It was more of an order than anything else, Jin was not stupid and he knew very well what situation he was in. Not only were he at their mercy, but he did not even know how things worked here.

“I will try my best.” Jin stated as he mentally remembered the dragon that scared him shitless the day before.
“Here, you will look weird without clothes.” Cia laughed as he threw over a set of commoner clothes.

“There are certain things you must know.” Cia started as Jin worked against himself to figure out how the loincloth thing worked. “You have the status of a commoner, everyone beside the servants and workers here at this school have the rank of an Aristocrat. This means that you are basically an underling, and you are to abide to th*”
“Won’t happen” Jin broke in. “I might not be of the right social status, but I’m no one’s servant nor slave” he stated harshly.
Cia let out a laugh as he assumed as much. “We will care for you, feed you and the like, but it might be best if you keep a low profile.” He stated as he turned towards the exit of the room.
“Heh, I’m in a world that should only exists in books and stories, Im not stupid enough to challenge what I don’t understand the least” Jin explained as he put on the last piece of the clothing he was given.

He now stood with a pair of sandals in his feet, his legs had common black cotton pants, the loincloth was surprisingly comfy and his top had a white armless vest that was tied together rather than using buttons. His mid back long red brown colored hair was let hanging loose for the moment.
“We have something similar like this in my world, though almost no one wears it anymore” Jin stated as he followed Cia.

Being led trough a long tunnel complex, it was apparently that escaping from here was like waking up in the center of a maze, without a map or an insane amount of luck, you were screwed.
They passed many heavy wooden doors, powerful hinges and locks were on them all not to mention a score of guards.
Jin chuckled slightly, the security was better here than in most areas of his own world.
Still following Cia as he was being lead to wherever, he suddenly had the sun in his face, at least that part was the same to his world.
Now standing in the same opening of the center tower of the area like he had done before, he at least was in a better situation at this point.
Though, almost as soon as he got out, some of the students flocked around him and the principal, curious to this new person.
Scores of questions served as a long stick, pushing Jin further and further into a small tube, though Cia stopped it all and took command of the situation.

“Everyone, this is Jin, he comes from a faraway country so his customs are somewhat different than ours. He has hit his head pretty bad so his memory is slightly selective, be nice to him” he stated before he turned his head towards Jin with a twisted grin.
“Oh no…” Jin stated, feeling what the principal was thinking, though not fast enough.
A friendly push made him loose his balance, fighting to retake it down the stairs he ended up on his ass in the center of some 40something students.
The prying eyes were almost like being poked with a handful of needles, everyone being more curious than the next.

Then it started the hail of questions. Where was he from, what was his element, why he did not have his cape on. And all sorts of questions you would assume late teens in a world like this to ask.
Though one made him wonder, what made them think he had a cape?
He tried to answer the things the best he could, leaving his hometown a secret for now.
In the end a teacher had to come and break up the crowd as it was interfering with the lessons if the day. They had picked up where the whole situation was left the day before.

“Explosion!” was shouted by a young male’s voice. Jin turned towards it wondering why he shouted the word explosion. Though his thoughts were interrupted by just that, an explosion took away whatever target the kid was aiming at, and a concentrated local explosion took its place.
Jin was fear struck. He stood there in awe for several seconds while his brain processed the information alongside all the situations that would suck to have against one.
First now he looked around, noted small oddities between the lots of students.
Some had a brown color on their cape, where some had black or purple. All rather dark colors, the main difference were the cord used to fasten the cape so it did not fall off, it varied between a few colors mainly red, green, dark and light blue and brown.
His head made up some reasoning to this, but the main thing he could figure out now was that the cape color was a class indication, and that everyone that wore capes or robes, were mages of sorts. This meant if he tried something, he would be in deep shit.
Starting to treat lightly, he kept on wandering around the school grounds, everything he saw just making more and more questions. Not to mention that regardless of where he went there were always guards either keeping an eye on him or tailing him. This made him eventually sit down in a corner where walls met on one of the non exploding grassy areas.

Looking to the azure sky he kept wondering if he would ever get back home, to his friends and family.
A deep sigh made him lower his eyes to the grass, many things were the same, yet other things made him feel alien.
He was in a different world, something he had secretly wished for a long time, though when it happened its initial happenings were not as amusing as he had hoped.
Though as he sat there, thinking back on times past, times with his family and friends, he dozed off in the warm sun.

“Excuse me.” A female voice stated, dragging Jin’s lazy mental state back to being awake.
Jin looked up to see a girl in a maid’s uniform, immediately his mind tilted towards al kind of strange porn. Shaking his head a few times ridding himself of said thoughts he looked again. She seemed to be slightly lower than him had he bothered getting up, she had shoulder long dark brown hair that seemed to be fastened into a single braid.
“Yes?” Jin replied his curiosity to what she wanted was higher than the weird tastes of the peoples making her using a uniform like that in broad daylight.
“I haven’t seen you around here before, who are you?” she asked with a curious look.

Jin assumed it was work related, though given the factors it was not an unexpected question.
“Call me Jin, I’m a visitor from a place really, really far away” he stated, putting up the best smile he could without really smiling.
The maid simply smiled, though hers seemed genuine, and made a polite bow. “I’m Josephine, call me Joe. If there is anything you need feel free to ask me.” she stated, as she went away most likely heading back to her duties.
The way people were looking at her, or rather how they did not, made it seemed that in this world that uniform was just that, a work uniform.

Chuckling for a second to himself he heard something that was more familiar than spells being cast. The sound of wood against wood, and metal against metal, finally if he was right about this there were something he would recognize, melee combat.
Getting off his ass and back to a standing position he had his hands in the pant pockets as he loafed over towards what looked like a melee training range.

“But Teacher, why do we have to train for melee? We are mages not fighters.” a red haired girl asked.
The man in blue robes from the day before turned towards her and answered. “Me. Sophia, give me your wand for a second.” He asked while holding out his right hand.
She looking at her wand for a second did as asked.
“Now.” The teacher started. “Cast a spell at me.” He stated with a genuine smile.
The girl apparently named Sophie seemed to end up with a forced smile as she got her wand back.
Jin could not do anything but laugh within himself.
“Fine.” Sophie stated as she walked over to a different man that currently had a wooden sword in his right hand.

This man had a set of armor that looked like a light plate mail set, it was silvery and shiny in color. Under this he had a deep blue set of clothes; it seemed to be rather easy to move in it if one could go past the weight. His short brown hair seemed to be just the length where one would wash it, dry it for 2 seconds and just run ones fingers through. His face had a scar along the whole left side jaw.

He gave Sophie a wooden sword and took 3 steps back. “Attack me.” He commanded her.
She looking weirdly at him for two seconds did as asked and ended up charging him with an overhead slash.
He sidestepped with great ease and she tripped in her own feet. A second later she lied in his left arm instead of face first on the sandy ground, his left hand having one of her breasts in it.
Helping Sophie to her feet he bowed as if he was sorry for it and apologized in a fairly decent way.
There was just something about the whole ordeal that put Jin off, just something about how this all happened.
Regardless of everything, this man seemed to be lowly skilled, how he moved and what he did to counter seemed improvised at best.
Jin ended up laughing slightly due to the whole thing, an amateur teaching newbie.

The melee teacher looked at Jin. “What do you find so funny?” he asked with honest eyes.
Jin stopped laughing after a second. “Well, it is just your movement, no offense but you don’t seem too skilled.” Jin smiled.
“Oh? Care to test out that theory?” the man in armor asked as he received the wooden sword from Sophie.
Jin did not reply, he just entered the sandy ring and took the sword in his hands.
“My name is Damien.” He politely introduced himself with a polite bow.
“Call me Jin.” Jin replied in the same tone but just stood there.
“I will let you attack first.” Damien grinned as he took the same stance he used with the girl a minute ago.
“Don’t mind if I do.” Jin stated as he made his attack.

Here is chapter 3, slightly longer than the other two, but this one has battle in it ^^

Like the others, I still want comments and critiques ^^

Chapter 3 – The feeling.

Closing the distance between the two, Jin aimed for an attack towards the blade itself, but this would follow up with a slash against the body.
Being close enough for now, Jin made his attack, looking forward to humiliating this knight-like person.
The sound of wood against wood echoed across the area they were in, and suddenly Jin found himself on the ground , staring at the sky with a decent pain in his right hand.
“Wait, what?” muttered through Jin’s lips as his brain played back what happened in slow motion.
Damien took the first blow to the sword, though as soon as it connected he used the momentum to strike Jin’s right hand with the flat of his sword, then Damien proceeded to grab Jin’s arm and do an over the shoulder twist, ending up with Jin on his back.

Squatting down beside the now fallen Jin, Damien smiled. “I level my skills according to the one Im training, there is no use going full out against someone that has never held a blade.” He stated in all honesty as he offered a hand to Jin.
Jin, not being a sore loser, grabbed the helping hand and was pulled to his feet.
“Though” Jin stated a second after getting to his feet; just close enough for Damien to hear him but silent enough so the others did not hear. “I did see what you did with the girl there, is cupping a feel a skill you learn at whatever school you went to?” Jin grinned widely as he asked this.
Damien put an arm over Jin’s shoulder and turned them both away so no one could defiantly hear them.
“No, not really, but you know how it is.” He replied with a weird twisted perverted grin.
Jin let out a loud laugh as he gave Damien a few pats on the back. “So true.”
Jin was a male as well, though perhaps he did not go as far as Damien did with his hormones, he did at least understand the meaning behind it.

The class as well as the teachers was confused, first they were fighting, then the newcomer lost severely, and now they are best friends?
Jin stepped out of the ring, chose not to test his luck towards Damien again, he had the feeling that he could do much more than he just did towards him.
Standing on the sides for a few minutes, he continued walking around the area, not escaping the eyes of the guards.

“Oh crap!” he suddenly let out as he remembered the young girl from the night before, the pink haired one.
Running towards the house she was in, or at least the one he thought she was in he knocked on the door.
There was no reply so he opened it. “Hello? Anyone here!?” he shouted in yet there were no reply.
Just as he was about to set foot on the inside, he was tackled against a wall by an armored hand, at second glance it looked like a captain type person from his armor decorations.
“Just what the hell do you think that you are doing?” the guard person asked.
“Erm, during my… actions yesterday, I tied up a girl in here. Judging by her glowing stick on the floor there I doubt she got away” Jin stated with a forced smile.
The guard nodded his head towards the insides where a guard ran in and up the stairs in Jin’s stead. The one holding him to the ground let Jin go, but remained there until the one he just sent in returned.
Behind the one on the inside the little girl came down the stairs, not seeming to be harmed or angry at all.
Jin was not feeling too comfortable, last night he tied up a little girl that remained so until today, and here Jin was about to enter her house again. This looked very suspicious.

The captain looked at Jin with menacing eyes, grasping the hilt of his blade. “What did you do!?”
Jin felt very wrong here, this obviously looked very wrong from an outside perspective.
“Erm, I snuck in here yesterday, and when she tried to resist I tied her up” he stated, hoping that it would be enough of an explanation, though just as soon as the words left his mouth he understood that it just made everything sound worse.
The captain’s left eye twitched a few times as his blade was slowly being drawn.
“Wait- “ Jin started, really wanting to explain it better. “-Let me explain.”
The guard looked at Jin with eyes signaling that he would defiantly not let this go. “You have said en*”
“STOP!” a young female voice shouted.
Everyone turned towards it and it seemed the young pink haired girl were the one stopping everyone.
“He did nothing bad, let him explain” she commanded, and though still pissed off the captain sheathed his blade.
“Let us hear it.” The Capitan commanded as he seemed like he was about to burst any second now.
Jin happy that he was not impaled at this point started explaining in much better words, the ordeal from the time he exited the tower and ended up in her room, until the point where he left.

The captain was not satisfied, though as the girl backed up his story he had no choice but to call off his guards.
As the guards walked away, the captain really looking like he wanted Jin to be fed to a dragon, Jin sat down against the house wall. “Thank you.” he stated to the pink haired girl.
“Don’t worry, you did nothing bad, you were just scared.” She replied as she went back and picked up her wand, ending up back outside beside Jin though she was standing where he was sitting against the wall.
Jin, being slightly confused, looked up at the young girl. “How did you know I was not going to hurt you?”
She smiled as she looked at him. “I just do, I am a great judge of character. If you wanted to harm me, you would not have just hit my wand away; you would most likely have hurt me as a threat of more.” She explained.
Jin though on this for a few seconds, she did have a point. “Well, thanks… erm..” he was going to call her by her name, but first now realized that she had yet to introduce herself.
“I’m Lucy Physis, call me Lucy” she introduced herself as she reached out her right hand.
“Call me Jin” Jin replied as he gave her a half assed handshake, it was hard to do it right from the angle he was currently in.

Getting back to his feet a few seconds later, Jin thought of something, he needed to speak to Cia.
“I'm sorry, but I’ll talk to you later.” Jin stated to Lucy, though a brief chat she did not seem alarmed at the least from the previous night’s commotion.
Jin on the other hand walked towards the guards and requested to speak with Cia, naturally they were not too eager to let him do that, but he seemed to have a reason behind it.

A few minutes later and he ended up walking though the doorway and into perfect half circular office; no doubt the tower walls forced this shape, the shelves were formed to stand alongside the curved walls and were filled up with books of several types and sizes, the walls themselves had many posters or sorts hanged up. Behind the principal was a single windowed door to the balcony that the woman made an announcement during Jin’s escape.
In front of the principal was a large desk, nice engravings all around with a lacquered desktop marked a fine desk in any time or world.

“I have a few questions for you.” Jin stated towards Cia as the door behind him was closed.
Cia wrote something in a thick book with brown leather covers just before he closed it and put it to his right. “And what might that be?” he asked, not really seeming to be too curious about things.
“Why are you allowing me to roam around campus?” Jin asked as his opening question, after all judging by what had happened he should be treated more like a prisoner than anything else.
“I don’t see why we should not, we have robbed you of your home, it is the least we can do.” Cia replied as he put his right elbow on the desk and supported his head in its palm.
“So, there is no way for me to return?” Jin asked more like a statement as he looked to the floor with a sad posture.
“The happenings that ended up summoning you to our world only works one way, we do not have any systems of magic that can transport any person from a location to another. So unless someone in your world has this gift…” Cia stopped his explanation there, as it seemed Jin had already understood the basics. Instead he changed his sentence after a second of silence. “Though, since you are here, why not try and make it your home, mark this world with your existence, we will try our best to*”
The principal’s words were cut short as a large explosion took out a chunk of the wall behind him.

The stone wall shattered as any wall wound do, though being made of stone it ended up showering the inner side of it with rocks in all sizes. Luck would have it that the force aimed the rocks in to a side of the room, so neither Cia or Jin got any wounds larger than shallow scrapes.
Cia turned around in a single fast movement and looked outside, and his eyes widened as it beheld the sights outside.
Dragons in the air, soldiers on the ground, mages sending destructive spells showering towards the school grounds.
In the distance he saw a multi-mage spell being cast, ending up as a fireball the rough size of 2 men in height, it was aimed for the room Cia and Jin were standing in.
Moving surprisingly fast, Cia ran over to Jin’s side, grabbed hold of him and jumped out the hole in the wall.
“WAIT, WHAT!?” Jin shouted in the confusion as he was plummeting to his death. Well, it had been an interesting life. Was the main sentence that went through his mind.
Though, a few seconds later he was standing on the ground with no wound or anywhere hurting. “Magic…. Should have gotten that...” Jin muttered as Cia had already started taking precautions.

“Get the students to the basements!” he shouted to anyone that could hear as he just after started saying weird words, no doubt chanting a spell.
Jin stood there paralyzed, not really able to do anything. He was not only in a different world where his sense of logic would need some fine tuning to work, but there were an attack on the school with devastating effects. What was this, why had he ended up in a war?
His mind snapped back to reality from a slap to the back of his head, looking towards the owner of the arm he looked into the face of Damien.
“What are you doing spacing out!? Either go hide or help out!” the perverted knight shouted out in an order.
Still confused there were not much Jin could do about it, judging by what was happening they were at war. Assuming the reason was easy enough, the opposing force is trying to deal with a school that is training future mages to fight in the war, and it was a logical choice considering.
“Do you have a gun?” Jin asked Damien, as it was a weapon he was most familiar with using in his own world.
“A guun, what is that?” Damien asked confused as he started doing some body movements to make himself ready for the incoming wave of melee fighters.
“You know, you pull the trigger and a small controlled explosion makes a projectile fly towards your target?” Jin explained a very basic functionality of any gun or cannon.
“Nope, never heard of it.” Damien answered as he started walking towards the main gate. “Get that gate closed!” he commanded to anyone near it.

The gate closed a few seconds later thanks to the effort of a handful of guards, if nothing else it would serve to slow down the men on foot.
Suddenly a large explosion shook the ground around the main tower, looking up it seemed as the oversized fireball had hit the tower and the whole thing shattered like if a handful of sand was thrown into the air, every grain of sand being a life threatening boulder in this case.
Though all this, Jin seemed to be the only person reacting to this. Everyone knew about it but no one paid any reaction to it.
Why was that? Jin wondered not being aware that his answer was coming by the action of Cia.
As soon as the tower were falling in small pieces, he shouted out the final words of his minute long chant and immediately after every single falling boulder stopped moving, it held perfectly still for a few seconds before it all started to move controlled towards the same unoccupied area of the school grounds.
Jin looked at Cia in awe as Cia himself seemed to look fairly tired.
Guessing the toll this was taking on the principal he could only mentally thank him as he now understood why no one else reacted.

A large boulder coming from the outside was heading towards Cia, Jin and Damien.
Cia moved out of the way by his own accord, but was incredibly tired, most likely due to the spell he just cast that saved many lives.
Jin was not aware of it but became so as Damien body tackled him off the stairs to the side of them, ending up slamming into the grass ground.
“ouch..” Jin muttered as he had an armored man halfway on top of him.
“You’re welcome” Damien grinned as he pushed himself off

Getting to his feet in the same second large strong pounds had started on the main gates, no doubt the enemy soldiers wanted in.
The students were cut off from the single entry to the basements by the large rock that Damien tackled Jin away from, it had taken it upon itself to enter the doorway and sealed off the entrance.
Thinking for a few seconds, Jin walked over to the principal. “Cia, won’t any earth mages be able to make a new opening to the basements?” he asked, hoping that this would give them a chance to escape.
Cia grinned slightly as he got to his feet, looking around for a few seconds before he waved over a man in a brownish robe.
Jin assumed they could take it from there and stopped paying attention; instead he walked over to Damien that seemed to be surveying the area.
“Here.” Damien stated as he handed Jin a curved one-edged dagger. “I have a feeling you do better with daggers than swords.” He grinned to Jin.
Jin grasping the dagger’s handle wondered for a second.
“You seem to fight like an assassin by your rumors” Damien continued as a twisted smirk grew on his face. No doubt what happened the day before made said rumors, if there were any at all.
“I might know a trick or two of human anatomy.” Jin grinned back as they both turned towards the main gate.

“I want a rematch.” Damien started as his own blade left he scabbard. “I know you are capable of much more, you just underestimated me. Change of weapons and a rematch” He stated towards Jin as he pointed the blade at Jin’s throat.
“Deal.” Jin replied as he used the dagger to swipe the sword away from his body.
This was not as it seemed, on the surface it seemed like a petty challenge, but under its skin it was more of a vow to survive this.
Jin started shaking; it was not a shake from fear though fear might have played a part of it. The adrenaline was rushing though his body like a drug, sharpening his senses and providing a mountain of energy.

The main gates creaked loudly as the men on the outside made their attack on it.
Almost as if it were a pre-planned cue both Jin and Damien started their run towards the gate, with all their might they ran getting speed along the way.
The doors swung open in a powerful motion as enemy battering rams showed their heads, the wave of soldiers started slow at first but as soon as everyone got their footing it started moving faster.
Jin noted an orange colored glow to his left; turning his head he noted that Damien’s whole body was glowing, wondering for a second about why he noted a second after that his own body had the same glow.
Looking behind him for a split second he saw Cia’s staff pointing at the duo and a smile on his lips before the principal joined the students entering the makeshift door.
“Haste, an Alteration mage’s mark in battle.” Damien grinned
Jin, not really caring for details at the moment, just accepted what happened and embraced it.

For several seconds it was as if there were no sound on the battlefield, almost as if sound suddenly ceased to exist, Jin could both feel and hear his own heartbeat. It was a weird feeling an effect from the mental focus that the warrior charging into battle.
Then the clash of metal against metal, clouded in the sound of metal cutting flesh and the pulses of blood meeting air took over the silence.
Damien’s blows were quick and effective, where Jin’s were cunning and well placed, bodies fell before both of them and the blood littered their whole existence.
Limbs fell to the ground as their owners followed shortly with a fatal wound marking their end.
Due to the haste spell the world was slightly in slow motion for Jin and Damien, even though this was a good effect both were dead focused and had only two thoughts. Stay alive and do not let anyone through.
Damien’s blade found its way between the bindings in the side of a soldier’s armor, a twist of the blade and it was withdrawn, using the same momentum the blade found its way into an unprepared enemy’s neck.
Jin’s curved dagger danced across arteries and revealed parts of the bodies that he fought, each movement being followed by a pulse of crimson blood.

The orange light flickered, and in that confusion Jin looked away for a second. Before he realized the shock and pain from a kick to the gut signaled its presence, which in turn sent Jin tumbling away for a few meters.
The pain manifesting in a few coughs alongside a feeling of nausea, though his miniature break was immediately interrupted by Jin sending his body to a roll backwards only to dodge the tip of a blade by a fingers’ width.
As he got to his feet the one that attacked him was already impaled by a sword from the back, Damien’s face showed itself for a split second before the blade was drawn back and the carnage continued.
The fight continuing for a minute, the school guards, a few mages, Jin and Damien were doing their best to keep the enemies at bay.

Though, for a split second Jin’s mind asked him something; why is he doing this?
All in all he had nothing to do with this war, in the same way he had nothing to do with this world.
No! He could not return, he was a part of this world, of this war, now.
Turning to look at the tower, it was clear that the guards had overwhelmed the guards and a few had gotten past. Jin looked back at Damien who in a single look explained all Jin needed to know.
Turning around Jin headed towards the makeshift door into the tower; apparently it seemed only a few guards made it past and was going down the stairs.
Following them for a minute, Jin managed to take out one by stabbing the dagger though the neck of one soldier, and luck would have it so he managed to catch the man before his armor made a racket in the stairs.
Grabbing another dagger of the soldier’s wrist he followed the soldiers down the stairs, already having taken off his shoes to maximize his stealth.
As he got down to what seemed like a base level, it seemed as they were not anywhere near the prison that Jin himself were in not too long ago.
As he made almost no noise he snuck across the hallways following the 2 last soldiers down to a door. The door was opened fast enough by their strong kicks and Cia stood in front of everyone else.
Aiming his staff ahead it was kicked away by the soldier he did not aim at, and in a second the principal was caught in a place where the wall was at his back, a blade at his throat and students further down a dead-end hallway.

“This will be a nice price.” One of the guards stated. “Ignoring the old man, there is a few cute girls in here.” he grinned.
The other one laughed a high pitch laugh as they looked at the students.
“Explosion!” Sophia had taken a step forwards and pointed her wand against the soldiers. Jin not wanting to get the explosions effects in his face, hid behind a pillar.
Though. Nothing happened, no explosion, no nothing.
Both guards laughed in unison. “Did you not pay attention in school? Most high ranking soldiers have an anti-spell enchantment cast on them. Low level casters such as yourself cannot harm us.” The first soldier grinned widely as the second one followed through with the same high pitch laugh as before.

Running as fast and silent as Jin were able to, he had a crouched position even while running.
A silent jump propelled him though the air, landed with both daggers impaled all the way to the hand guard in the soldier that had Cin against the wall. Drawing the blades out of his neck he aimed at the other guard.
At the same time as the first guard’s blade hit the stone floor, Jin’s daggers entered the last guard’s torso.
Jin grinned as he stood up letting both daggers be in the dead guard.

Though happy as Jin was, he felt a slight itch at his mid back area. Ignoring it for now it was nothing to worry about, though the students had a face filled with terror.
Jin ignored it for now as it was most likely only due to his actions.
A small cough escaped Jin’s mouth, and as a habit he held his hand in front of his mouth. Though something was odd about this, his hand was covered in blood. Moving his hand away he noted a blade sticking through his chest, there were no pain, only a slight itch and a cold feeling expanding from it.
Jin turned slowly around to see into the face of a soldier that had a twisted grin on his face. “How does it feel?” the soldier asked, he had apparently been standing just on the inside behind the doorframe.
Just as Jin actually thought about it, the pain came rushing over him like a wave three times his height, a wave that would capsize any ship. A roar escaped Jin’s open mouth; it was filled with anger, hate and pain. Both of Jin’s hands reached for the soldier’s neck, the deepest hate filling his eyes as the hands began to squeeze, harder and harder. Breathing became something stolen from the guard’s abilities, the pressure around his neck refused the blood to return from his head so severe panic started.
The guard scratching at the vice-like grip around his throat as Jin continued to scream with all his might.
The sound of a single crack marked the end of the soldier’s movements, and as a doll he fell to the bloody stone floor.
Jin stopped screaming, turning slowly around he surveyed the room in what looked like an hour. The students seemed to be screaming, some trying to get away where some reached towards him, though all the visual effects of screams there were no sound, just the sights of the scared faces.
Falling to his right side Jin felt weightless as he got a feeling of drowning he could not understand why.
Hitting the floor in a limp movement Jin did not move again after.

Chapter 4 – ‘Items’ of importance.

Jin awoke in a sharp movement, ending up sitting halfway upright with both of his hands trying to grasp something that was sticking out of his chest. Though there was nothing there.
As he currently had a bare upper torso he could see an almost 2inch scar that had a prefect line placed on his right side chest. And it hurt like hell.
Grasping the wound on his chest he first now noted it hurt just as bad in his back, though he could not reach it.
First after realizing that he was not dead his eyes started moving around the room. It was a stone room as any other he had seen so far, he was lying in a completely white bed. The floor next to the door had clear marks of blood and something being dragged through it, Jin assumed it was his blood, judging by the amount on the floor it explained why he felt slightly dehydrated.
First now he noted something else in the room, or rather someone else. Near the foot side of the bed a girl was sleeping with her head on her crossed arms on one corner of the bed itself.
Jin wondered for a few seconds, why would she of all people be the one that were to do this.
Ignoring it for now Jin aimed to exit the room, he felt thirsty and hungry. Stepping out of the bed and sliding out of the sheets he felt chillier than he should. Inspecting this coldness he noted that he was naked.
No doubt from the one that saved his life removed the clothes as they were most likely drenched in blood.
Grabbing the thin sheet of cloth that worked like his blanket he made a makeshift skirt of sorts, if nothing else it served to cover his man parts.
Strolling outside of the door he saw what he feared, apparently he was in the basement complex of the center tower, there were no way in hell he would find his way out of here alone. His eyes trailed back to the girl sleeping on the corner of his bed.

Walking back in Jin poked the girl’s shoulder a few times. “Hey, wake up”
She opened her eyes slowly, looking at Jin with half open eyes. “Rakoden?” she tiredly asked as if there were someone else standing there.
“Erm.. No, it’s me, Jin” he replied, wondering who Rakoden was.
“Rakoden!” she shouted out as she in a single movement got up on the bed and used it to kick from, ending up airborne en route towards Jin.
“No, wait!” Jin shouted out, but it did nothing at all.

The little girl slammed into Jin, losing his balance he ended up falling backwards and a second later his back was slammed into the cold stone floor.
A scream of pain escaped Jin’s mouth as the wound on his back apparently wanted to mark its presence, and first now Lucy opened her eyes filly and saw a pain ridden Jin.
Jumping to her feet she started apologizing over and over as Jin did not move until the pain started to go away.
“Don’t worry about it, ‘tsok.” Jin stated as he slowly forced himself on his feet.

“What is happening?” a familiar voice stated in the door opening.
Jin turned around with a sly grin. “I assume you had something to do with this, Cia?” he stated as he trailed two fingers across the scar on his chest.
“I might.” Cia replied with a grin as well though one could see on his whole body that he was rather relieved.
“So, mind telling me the story?” Jin stated but it fell on deaf ears as Cia lifted a finger in a ‘hold on’ manor and exited the door going down one of the hallways.

Jin sat back down on the bed, tilting his head towards Lucy. “Who is Rakoden?”
She looked to the floor. “He was my brother; he died in a raid like today.”
Jin looked away, he could feel her pain.
“You look like him...” she suddenly stated in a low voice.
Jin sighed, that did explain things. It also explained why she fell asleep the night he held her hostage, or at least it might have been a factor.

“Ok!” a voice suddenly stated from the door, scaring Jin a fair amount. “Here you go” Cia stated as he threw a new set of clothes on Jin’s lap.
It was the same form of attire as he wore the day before; judging by the lack of a hole in the back and chest area, he assumed it was a new shirt. “Thanks.” Jin smiled as he lifted and looked at the new clothes.
Grabbing the loincloth first, he suddenly stopped and looked at Lucy. “You mind?” he smiled at her.
Her face became tomato red in a second as she darted out the door, Cia smiled like he was having fun as he exited the door.
Just before the door was closed completely he stopped. “You have been out for 4 days, Lucy tended to your needs for those days…” Cia closed the door as soon as he was done talking, leaving Jin to this thoughts as he dressed.

He had been out for 4 days after the whole ordeal, since they were still here in such a calm manor that means that the enemy was repelled.
As images from the day before flashed though his mind he ran a finger across the scar on his chest again. Why did he do that?
Why did he go to such lengths to save someone he does not even know, not to mention that he could not remember any training in fighting? How did he survive a fight like that?
These were just a few of the questions that roamed Jin’s mind as he put on the clothes that fit remarkably well for a person that has yet to have his measurements taken.
Though, he assumed the necessary measurements were eyeballed or measured in his knocked out state in the prison.

After dressing up, he went out into the hallway to see Lucy standing there against the wall. Seeming rather happy about things, at least it was a better look on her than a sad one.
“Soo… I take it you know your way out of here?” Jin asked the little girl.
She nodded and started to lead him to the outside, something that took a few minutes.

Again in the sunlight, it appeared to be mid day or so, judging by the height of the sun. Jin was starting to wonder when it was raining in this world.
Looking to the top of the tower it seemed they had already fixed it, having magic seemed to be very effective.
The large boulders from the catapults were gone, the makeshift door into the tower were fixed. All in all everything seemed to be as it was before the enemy raid.
The students were back to their daily classes, or Jin assumed as much as there were the odd explosion here and there.

Turning back towards the door he just exited, Jin placed a hand on Lucy’s head. “Thanks.” He smiled to her as he went past her towards the top of the tower; he needed to talk to Cia.
A few minutes later he found himself outside the same door he passed by only yesterday in his own mind.
Knocking on the door he awaited a reply that came fast enough from the inside, he opened the door and a sense of déjà vu struck. Everything was like the last time he stepped foot into this room, save a few new posters on the walls.

Closing what seemed like the same leather covered book he had been writing in, Cia looked back at Jin. “I assume we should continue from where we ended up last time?”
Jin sighed. “Before we go on, quickly explain the way this world works. I don’t care how it is run, or which side wants what from whom in the war, I’d like you to explain, briefly, the whole magic system, as well as what kind of weapons you have.” The closer he got to the end of his sentence the more he started to grin. Apparently he had an idea.

Cia sighed as he got up from his chair, he walked over towards one of his posters on the wall.
“There are 6 elements that one can have command over.” Cia started as he pointed out things on the poster. “Different elements have different sub categories. For example we have Earth, under earth we have earth related things such as Nature, metal and golem creation. If we take things such as Air we have wind, weather and lightning. All elements have several sub categories.” As he detailed the elements he pointed at the relative symbol and sub images on his poster.
“The most unusual is Light and Dark. Dark you have already been introduced to one of the sub categories of Dark, Summoning. And in Light, like me, there is Alteration. The most unusual of every element is also the strongest casters of them should they master it. The healers of the light element and the Sumoners of the Dark element, this is due to the abilities they hold.”
Cia walked around the room, pointing at various posters and symbols that were supposed to make things make sense, but Jin did not care for the imagery of things.
Cia continued without stopping beside drawing more breath. “Nolis did not mean anything bad about it; he is the Summoner that brought you to this world. Though he has much potential like anyone else he did a few small errors that ended up in you coming here.” He stated as he placed a hand on Jin’s shoulder.

“I don’t hold anything against him, if that is what you are hinting towards. Continue, what weapons exist in this world?” Jin commanded to know.
Cia took back his hand with a smile, glad that Jin did not hold any grudge against Nolis. “Well, we have swords, spears and other bladed weapons as you are aware of. We have the bow and arrow, alongside its sister the crossbow. Beside that there is nothing else but the Magic we mages control.” Cia ended.
“How does one obtain control over Magic?” Jin continued.
“One is born with the gift, anyone that is not born with it cannot obtain control over magic. So you won’t be either.“ Cia grinned as he walked back towards his desk. “Though I cannot be certain as you are not exactly from around here.” He added before he sat down.

Jin did not seem pushed back from this, instead he was grinning with a twisted touch to it.
“I'm assuming you don’t have much along bombs, explosives or things like that?” he asked, clearly having an idea.
“No, we don’t, but judging by your questions, I would assume you do?” Cia asked, making it sound like a question when it was more apparent.
“You might say that, in the future I might need something to draw with, compasses and something to draw a straight line with.” He stated as he turned towards the door. “Though for now I think I will heal up first.”
“Soo…. Do you know where you are to sleep for the night?” Cia stated in a sarcastic tone.
Stopping in the doorway Jin’s grin sort of faded to a forced smile. “You would not happen to be wanting to tell me, would you?”
“We have guest quarters, so don’t worry. I will have the mentioned items moved to the room you will be using at the 2 o’clock building.” Cia stated as he opened the book and continued to write.
“Erm…” Jin stopped, his forced smile long gone. “2 o’clock building?”
“Do they have sundials in your world?” Cia asked calmly.
“Yes, though they were obsolete long before my time.” Jin answered, with a slight sense of self importance.
“The exit marks the 6 o’clock, where the tower is the stick in the center. I think you’ll figure out the rest.” He smiled, clearly if Jin was from a more futuristic world then what he was in now, not only would he figure that out simply enough, but the results of his drawings might prove very interesting as well.

Jin exited the room and closed the door behind him after he got the sundial explanation, though as he walked down the spiral stairs that lead back to the ground he could not keep the thought away that his superior technology might prove both great and bad.

Getting back to ground level, the sun was still plenty up as it was only a few after noon.
Looking at the school campus in a different light, or perhaps a different shadow, he figured out that since the sun was at an angle from his right now, which should put the shade almost at the 1 o’clock mark. It was a nifty way of keeping time for a school.

“Catch!” a voice stated from his left.
Tilting his head to the side, Jin was caught off guard as a metal object came glinting in the sun towards him. In a single movement he grabbed it with his left hand, this proved to be a fatal mistake as what was thrown was the curved dagger that Jin was loaned from Damien the day before, or rather a few days ago.
“The hell!?” Jin shouted to his laughing friend. “This will take forever to he*” He was planning to complain to the time it would take to heal, though Damien pointed at his chest roughly where Jin’s scar should be. “Right… Magic.. I should have gotten that by now.” Jin stated showing a smile filled with pain while Damien waved over a young boy.
When Jin looked at the incoming lad, he could not help my figure out that Damien had this planned the whole time.
The boy had the same school uniform as every other boy, his cape was purple colored and it was fastened with a white cord. His hair was a pale blonde color and was fastened in a low ponytail.
“Hold out your hand.” Damon commanded, and Jin did as told though slightly hesitant.
“Do your stuff, Hira” Damien commanded.

Pointing his wand at Jin’s cut hand, the wand started to glow slightly as Hira stated some weird words. As Hira kept saying his word, the wound closed rather fast, and in the matter of a second or two there was even not a scar left.
“Wow… Thanks.” Jin stated towards Hira who turned away and went back to whatever he had in mind.
“Though.” Jin continued towards Damien. “Something tells me you had this planned.”
Damien looked to the sky in the worst attempt of feigning ignorance. “Who, me? I don’t know what you are talking about.” The last word was spoken with a grin back at Jin. “Oh, come-on, it was so worth it!” Damien continued after, almost cheering it as he picked up the blade.
“Well, that is one way of showing me an example of healing magic.” Jin grinned slightly.

“You owe me a match.” Damien grinned as he poked Jin in a pointing manor.
“heh, I guess I walked into that one.” As he ended that sentence his stomach growled as a dog protecting his stack of bones. “Erm… Is it possible to get some food first?” Jin smiled forced, just now remembering that he had not been eating or drinking for the last 4 days.
“Sure thing, come along and I will get you something.” Damien stated.

A few minutes later and they found themselves on the 3 o’clock side of the tower where a set of chairs and tables were set up, looking like a lunch/snack area.
Waving one hand in the air a waitress came running. To Jin’s surprise it was no waitress it was Joe, the maid. As soon as he saw that uniform his mind turned away from food a minute, though it was forced back shortly after hidden with a cough.
Damien picked up this weird look in Jin’s eyes though did not mention it just yet.
“Two daily’s, please.” Damien ordered.
Joe smiled as she jotted things down on a little notepad as she then walked off.
Jin wondered how many jobs she had around here, though his thoughts changed as Damien’s eyes stared at him as he had the most twisted grin.
“What was that about?” He grinned towards Jin.
Thinking for a minute, Jin wondered if he should tell or not, breaking down in the end as he would like to see Damien’s reaction. “How much do you know about me?” Jin started asking, really not wanting to give out too much information about himself yet.
“Oh, I know as much as the Principal if that are the details you are referring to?” He answered quickly enough.
Jin grinned widely as he detailed the whole ordeal about what porn is alongside a lot of details.

Damien grasped hold on Jin’s hands and looked deep in his eyes. “If you ever go home, bring me along!” he commanded.
Jin being somewhat put off, tried to jerk his hands back but to no avail. “Sure~” Jin answered with a weird face in order to get Damien to let go.
A weird thing about that Damien first now seemed interested in Jin’s world, and not before when it was mentioned that Jin came from a much more technological world, it was the porn that attracted him.

A minute later and Joe came back with a large platter with 2 plates on and 2 mugs.
The plates had some meat on one side and some potatoes on the other, this was somewhat covered with a sauce of sorts.
The mug had an almost clear liquid with a slight pink hue.
Damien took a sizable sip of it, urging Jin to taste it as well. Having a sweet taste to it Jin took a liking to it fairly fast.
Continuing to taste the food it was incredible, the sauce had its flavor not too strong, yet it was enough to set its taste on everything it was on. The meat, though not knowing where it came from, Jin liked as well. The whole contents of his platter, though he could not say if the contents existed in his own world but it tasted as good if not better.
Joe had gone back to whatever duties she had, as Damien continued to ask about details for the erotic displays that existed in this other world.
“I think it is enough for today.” Jin stated instead of answering Damien’s questions. “I don’t want you to suddenly start humping my leg, so let’s keep something for another day.” Jin grinned to his apparent friend.

After the food was consumed, Jin decided to check out his room for the night, as Damien had a class to train in melee at this point.
“Yeah sure, ‘melee’.” Jin smiled as he did air quotes around the word ‘Melee’. Both smiled at each other before parting ways.
“You still owe me a rematch!” Damien shouted at Jin’s back, but all he got in reply was a single wave.

Getting to the house he was appointed to, or at least he assumed it was the one due to the large “2” in the door.
At least the numbering was the same between the worlds.
Opening the door the inside, though under furnished it felt fairly cozy, though somewhat lonely in a small two story house by himself.
Looking out the window he could see several people in the windows of other rooms, apparently it seemed that the students that lived on campus shared rooms.
He vaguely remembered seeing a few houses though the principal’s windowed door to the balcony, there had to be a small town nearby.
As promised, there was a large leather covered book on the only table in the lower story room. Beside it there was a feather and an ink vial. The mentioned equipment was placed on the table as well.
“I might as well start something.” Jin stated to himself as he sat down by the lit candle and started to jot down a few simple things from his own world.

What seemed like hours later, mostly due to that he had covered several pages in drawings and measurements, as well as the lack of sunlight outside suggested that the evening had came.
Chuckling to himself he closed the book and wiped off the feather pen, mentally making a note to create a ball-point pen as the feather was annoying to use.
His thoughts were interrupted by a knock on his door. “Hold on!” Jin replied towards whoever did the knocking.
Loafing over to open it he stared in the eyes of Damien’s perverted eyes.
“I don’t swing that way, dude.” Jin grinned towards his friend.
“Oh? What about if I bring the booze?” he grinned back.
“Well, step on my friend.” Jin played overly polite as he bowed and showed the ‘upper class’ through the door. Both started laughing shortly after.
“Tonight we go blind.” Damien stated as he slammed a knee high keg with a tap on the side, onto the table.
Jin smiled widely as he closed the door behind him.

this chapter is slightly dialogue drive, sorry about that.
Though it does explain things

EDIT: Fixed some typos and minor grammar issues.

Chapter 5 – Death is over rated.

“Oh… Dear… God. Kill me now.” Jin muttered pretty loudly as he had both hands around his head, his face lying on the table. Damien seemed to be having the same issues where he lied on the floor. “The hell was in that thing?” Jin continued as he poked the small barrel that seemed to be close to empty.
“Oh that? Something that I picked up on my travels, let’s just say that it burns a nice blue flame.” Damien grinned back.
“Oh… God….” Jin muttered as he lifted his head from the table into to have what felt like a catapult slam a fortress in his head. “Please tell me that there are mages that can fix this.” Jin stated, really hoping so.
“There is, though I assume they might leave us like this as a punishment.” Damien grinned as he supported himself with both hands on a stud. “Tastes good though.” He smiled, the headache clearly showing though.
Jin broke out in laughter. “Well, as true that might be I'm not drinking again… Ever.”
“Bah, they all say that, more than once even.” Damien grinned at Jin.
“Oh, true. I doubt it will be my last, but at the moment I’m halfway wishing it is.” Jin stated. This was something that was stronger than your conventional stuff back in his world. The fact that it burned a blue flame as Damien stated suggested that the fact that Jin was able to see the day after was a small miracle, at least considering the volume of the barrel.

“Oh come on!” Damien stated as he gave Jin a friendly slap on the back of his head. “It was fun!”
“If you do that again… I will shoot you in the nuts with a cannon.” Jin threatened
“Cannon? What is that?” Damien asked confusing. After all there existed no firearms in this world.
“When fired it shoots an iron ball the size of your head though a 5man thick stone wall.” Jin explained as he grinned towards his drinking partner.
Damien did not reply, only the mental thought of what would happen was enough to make him grasp his groin. “I’d rather it did not come to that.” He smiled still grasping his crotch.

The friendly threats were interrupted by powerful knocks on the door.
“ARGH. Not so loud. I'm coming.” Jin stated as he forced himself to the door.
Opening it the first thing that happened was the sun, apparently it was 2 o’clock. Jin stepped back into the shadow of his curtains. A second look revealed Cia, he held out his hand with a small pill in his hand and a bottle of water in the other.
“I was told that Damien here entered your quarters with a barrel of Dragons Breath.” Cia stated with a slick grin, he was fully aware of that this was going to happen.
“Oh, is that?” Jin stated as he pointed at the pill.
“It is a painkiller, yes I thought you might want one?” he stated, still having the grin on his face.
Jin took the pill and the bottle of water from Cia and in a split second the pill was down, Jin awaiting its activation.
“It should not take more than a few minutes before its effect.” Cia started as he gave one to Damien as well.
Turning away from the two he started closing the door, but stopped halfway. “Damien, you are late for a melee class. I’ll tell them you will be there in 10 minutes.” Cia grinned widely before closing the door.
Jin handed Damien the water bottle. “Dragons Breath, eh? It feels like there is one in there at least.” They both grinned. If nothing else they had a cool night, though the aftermath of such nights makes one consider a quick death.

Some minutes later the pill seemed to have its effect, as the headache had almost been completely removed and what was left was slowly being driven away.
“I’ll go ahead.” Damien stated as he walked over towards the door. “You still owe me a rematch.” He grinned.
“You won’t stop about that, will you?” Jin replied in a halfway annoyed tone, yet still grinning showing his sarcastic side.
“Nope, not at all.” Damien stated as the door closed behind him, the tone of voice suggesting a smile.

Lying there alone in the room, Jin wondered about things. Would it really be ok for him to bring guns and the like into a war in a world he just arrived?
Or any non weapon items from his own world, like steam engines.
It would effectively send the whole world into a new age, change the tides of battle and the lives of anyone in and outside of it. God knows how long they have been using magic and items of power.
Jin sat up, looking at his book that laid on a cupboard a meter away.
No, he would go through with this; he would make his mark on this world. After a war is over, regardless of who wins, peace is present for many years so the effort is worth it.
He would alter the destiny they are all supposedly tied into, like the tides change so do fate.

Having found the courage he needed to go on with his ideas alongside just going on for himself.
With this in mind he opened the door as the sun illuminated the whole room alongside Jin’s own body, walking out as he closed the door a new day had started.
As he saw Damien doing his ‘open palm’ technique he could not do anything but sigh at his persistence, though it weirdly enough gave him an idea that he would try out when he actually were to fight him again.
But, before anything else he needed a big just of water, alcohol had the tendency to dehydrate you.
Though, as he walked over to the lunch area, he could not help to notice that his breath did not smell of alcohol. He assumed it was due to the high percentage of the drink or that they put something in it that had this effect.

Getting over to the lunch area, he sat there for a minute before he waved his hand in the air, not really seeing anyone around it did not take much time before someone actually came.
He assumed that someone had to be seeing him from a window or something.
Again it seemed it was Joe that came to take his order.
“Water, a large mug, please.” Jin smiled to her.
Though hesitant for a second, she did as ordered and went back towards the door she came.
Jin were thinking of things, he had started understanding the ways of this world, though he knew there were many things left.

A minute later Joe came back with the water, as he could see Damien in the distance, no doubt the dehydration had caught up with him as well.
Though, Damien suddenly had a weird face, Jin could not put his finger on it but something was off.
Suddenly a splash of cold water washed over him, turning towards whoever did it with a fairly pissed look on his face, he was greeted with a very close-up to a cleavage shot before everything went momentarily black as he suddenly found himself on the grass.

“I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry…” Joe started chanting several times as she thought she had injured a customer, or worse, an aristocrat.
Jin got to a sitting position after climbing off the tipped over chair. “Don’t sweat it.” He grinned as he first now noted that she had a rather sizable bust. Not that he really minded the cleavage, he did not care much for the cold water that lead there.
Jin fixed his chair as he stared to wring out as much of the water as he could, the sun would fix the rest. Tuning to Joe he smiled. “I’d still like a large mug of water, to drink please.” It had a tone of voice that suggested a hint of humor in a sentence of an order.

As she went back with the empty mug, Damien came over with a fairly pissed look on him.
“How dare you?” He stated in a low tone of voice.
“heh, it’s not like I had much of a choice, though I can’t say that I mind.” Jin laughed back at the clearly envious man.
“But… I wanted that..” Damien sulked in a clearly sarcastic manor as his wide smile sort of gave it away. It was clear that he was envious, but he was not stupid so he was aware that it was not Jin’s fault.
Jin did not doubt the man the least, for such a skilled fighter he had a rather liking to the female mammary glands, though Jin could not blame him as it was a natural thing to do.
Jin just replied the same smile that Damien gave him. “The hell do you want here?” Jin stated in the mid of both smiling.
“Thirsty.” Damien answered with a single word. Jin could not do anything but sigh.
Joe came back and placed the mug on the table this time, apologizing again before leaving.
Jin and Damien had a few minutes of peace talking as the water disappeared quite fast, before Damien had to resume his training.
“Don’t forget your secret technique of the open palm.” Jin grinned as he made a vague squeezing motion with his hands in the air.
Damien simply laughed before returning.

Looking to the sky as the water started to rehydrate his body; he could not fail to see Cia standing on the balcony, waving at him.
Wondering what he wanted Jin’s curiosity forced him to climb the stairs again only to find himself in Cia’s office.
“You might have seen that there is a village a few minutes’ walk from here.” Cia started. “Half of the school have today off, where the other has tomorrow off. To allow you to see a small portion of the world outside of this school, I'm allowing you to go along with someone.” He grinned in a weird way.
“Its Damien, isn’t it?” Jin stated, knowing that Damien had his part of questions he would like answers to, and what better place than in the center of a crowd.
“No, Damien has tomorrow off. It was actually a request by Lucy.” Cia stated.
“The little pink haired girl?”
“Yes, some of the students are under a stricter supervision than others due to their lack of skill in their field of magic. Those always live on school grounds and they need at least one guard or supervisor if they are to leave campus. So in this case you will be her caretaker for the day.” Cia explained. It made complete sense as the school was in charge of the students.
“And what makes me a choice for this?” Jin asked. “I'm not exactly that good in battle, if it were not for your haste spell I would most likely die sooner.” Jin smiled, though he suddenly realized something. “Oh, and thanks for reviving me.” He made a bow towards Cia.
Cia smiled widely. “I did not resurrect you; I'm in the wrong sub element of Light to do that. Only a high class Healer can resurrect anyone. And we do not have such a student or teacher on this school.” Cia stated, wanting to see how Jin reacted.
“Then, some magical item or something?” Jin fished for answers.
“No, no one on this school, or outside of it for that matter, is to thank for resurrecting you.” Cia’s smile turned into a grin. “Why do you think I had Damien make you cut yourself and be healed by a mage?” Cia continued, stopping there to see how far Jin could make it himself.
Thinking for a minute as he looked in his hand. “Hold on, if the wound healed by a mage leaves no scar, why do I have one on my chest wound?” Jin realized as he wanted an answer.
Cia’s grin did not leave his face. “You fail to disappoint me, my dear Jin. You are more special than you first thought. “ Cia continued as he got out of his chair. “There has been a myth going around parts of the mages community, that there are people that cannot die from non natural means.”
Jin looked at his scar. “So… I'm Invincible?”
Cia chuckled. “That might be one way to look at it, but I would not call it that. 5 days ago you did in fact die, but shortly after you fell to the ground, and I removed the sword from your chest your wound closed within a few seconds, though the weirdest thing was that your blood was reabsorbed into your body.” Cia stated, his grin and smile had faded to a serious face.
“So…. If I get wounded, my wounds will close and heal, if I die I will resurrect in time?” Jin asked, rather confused.
“According to myth, yes. I did see it first hand in the basement, and the students, though sworn to secrecy, saw it as well.” Cia explained.
Looking into his hand Jin wondered if something like this was possible. “Will this work for damages made by magic as well?” Jin asked.
“It should, though we cannot say without testing it.” Cia smiled widely as he had gone back to his desk and now had his staff in his hands.
“Wait, let’s not rush this.” Jin stated as he backed away until he hit the wall.
“Don’t worry.” Cia muttered. “I will make it a small wound.” He ended as Jin tried to exit through the door. A wave of his staff the door flashed a dim bluish color, and the door acted as if locked.
Cia’s staff glowed an orange color as it suddenly grew a sword shaped light from its head. “This might sting a little.” He stated as he swung this light towards Jin.
A teeth clenched grunt of pain escaped Jin as a cut formed on his upper right arm, the blood starting to flow slowly but steadily down the arm, even hitting his white shirt. Cia’s staff blade faded shortly after the attack was made, the old man was more agile than he looked.
“What did you do that for!?” Jin shouted towards the old man in front of him.
Cia did not reply, he just pointed at the cut itself.
The blood that was running down Jin’s arm, as well as the blood on his shirt, was suddenly reabsorbed into the wound in the matter of a second, before it closed to a barely visible scar.
“It seems it does heal magical wounds as well.” Cia smiled, though Jin was glad about the effect the pain was still there.
“Well, it at least answers a few questions, though it seems I heal from magical wounds as well, it still hurts.” Jin answered surprisingly calm considering.
“Though, in my own world this never happened, why does it happen to me here?” Jin asked with a surprised face as he poked and stretched the skin where the cut was only a few seconds ago.
“When a summoner summons animals or other seemingly living things, they sometimes gain special powers. Animals might start talking, or gain a weak anti-magic effect. Apparently you being summoned gained a special skill as well, though you gained one most rare. It has only been recorded once before, as far as we know at least.” Cia explained as he walked back to his desk, supporting the staff against the edge as he sat down.
“You are what are considered the best mage ally.” He explained. “Consider it, an ally that regenerates even from death. He can run in anywhere, gather the forces in one location while the mage uses the time to conjure a large scale attack that kills everything in the area. Then after everyone and everything is either dead or destroyed, he just regenerates and the victory goes to the mage. Or the more common version is to keep enemy casters as well as non casters, away from the channeling mage as he prepares for a similar attack.” Cia explained with a genuinely happy smile on his face.
Jin, having a slight problem with understanding all this. “So, you mean that there is no way I can die from anything beside old age?” he asked as he looked at both of his hands, imagining the possibilities.
“From what I know by the testing that was done towards the last person a few thousand years ago, you should be harder to kill than a vampire.” Cia stated. “Anything done to you should heal, so if you were to jump out of the door here.” He stated as he pointed at the balcony door. “You would die from the fall without a doubt, but you would resurrect yourself within a short time.”
Jin looked at the door, liking what he was told but not really that he had to endure the pain from it.
“Wait, within a minute? But I was out for 4 days after the last time.” Jin wondered.
“That was most likely from the shock of the first incident. In time it should react faster and become more reliable. Give it the time it needs, though there is not really much you can do about it.” Cia ended.
“Hold on.” Jin suddenly interrupted any thoughts of speaking. “Vampires? Do they exist?” Jin asked, even more surprised than he was finding out about his own unusual ability.
“Yes.” Cia nodded as he replied completely calm. “Though there are not too many left, like Elves they are often employed by a very powerful mage or high ranking officials that have gained their trust as a superior.”
Jin was rather confused. Not only did he apparently have a power that was incredibly rare, but Vampires as well as Elves existed, and were apparently rather powerful. With those words Jin started wondering what really existed in this world that he had yet to have explained.
“So… Before I go killing myself, how far could I be damaged before I cannot heal myself anymore?” Jin asked, as it was a rather good thing to know.
“According to myth, there exists no level of damage that you cannot regenerate from. Be it complete and utter destruction, or just being torn apart. Though the pain would apparently be there, you will heal in time, though it was never tested to such a degree.” Cia explained. It appeared that they were heavily reliant on what the myth stated, but myths, like rumors, had tendencies to escalate. Due to this Jin was not completely certain if he would go around dying without reason. After all, dying hurts.

Most of the time that Cia answered and explained things to Jin, he was writing something on a piece of paper. “Give this to Damien as you see him, before you go to town. He will supply you with the weapon of your choice.” Cia stated as he had grabbed his staff already and waved it over the paper. The paper rolled itself neatly together and flew over to Jin, it hovered there in the air until Jin took it.
Not really saying anything, Jin got the impression that Cia was done with him, most due to that the door unlocked in the same flash as it was locked in.
“This will make me feel a world of pain later on, wont it?” Jin asked Cia as he stood in the open door.
“We might use you for target practice.” Cia grinned, forcing Jin’s eye to twitch.
“Let’s not have it come to that.” Jin forced out a smile as the door closed behind him.

A few minutes later, after thinking about things as he walked down the spiral stairs and came to the conclusion to just take it as it comes, he found himself standing not too far from both a group of students and Damien’s training grounds.
Winning over a male brown haired student Damien seemed to not to even have to use a fraction of his skills.
Apparently the mages focused so much on their magical studies that it was hard to train their melee skills, not to mention always having magic to help your physical labor suddenly does not become too physical. This was off course Jin’s assumptions for everything, though it did seem to make sense.
Damien grinning widely as he saw Jin. “So, you have come to fight me?” he asked with hope in his voice.
Jin did not say anything, he just handed him the rolled up letter. Jin did not bother reading it, he had already found out that he cannot read anything besides numbers in this world.
Damien’s face seemed to be overjoyed, almost as a kid on x-mas eve. “Oh? So does this mean that in our rematch I can use my sword instead of a wooden stick?” he asked with honest happy eyes.
“I’d rather you not.” Jin stated with a forced smile.
“Well, I am to give you whatever weapon you want for the trip. So, state your weapon.” Damien stated with a slick grin as he folded the paper together and put it in his pocket.
Jin thought for several minutes, he was not too good with swords, and he had not tested out anything special other than the dagger he borrowed from Damien the first night that Jin himself died.
Looking at Damien his Jin got an idea.
“I’ll take your left glove, with the dagger sheath.” Jin grinned slightly, it had a leather cover and fastenings up close to the elbow, and the glove itself was a metal gauntlet.
Damien looked weird at Jin for a few seconds but his orders were clear, to give Jin any weapon he wanted and a glove could be a weapon depending on how you looked at it.
Luck was on Jin’s side as Damien threw over the glove to him, Damien had the same hand size as Jin did, so the glove fit, well, like a glove.
Fastening it to a comfortable level Jin grinned slightly at Damien. “Fits like a glove.” He stated in a severe case of childish humor, though it was enough to make Damien smile.

Suddenly, Damien had taken his wooden weapon and made an assault on Jin, and overhead strike was aimed at his left shoulder. Dodging the wooden weapon by a hair with Jin was fairly surprised as he did not expect an attack, though this was the main point of a surprise attack.
The blade that missed stopped as it twisted its edge towards Jin’s side, without that twist it would not do much damage if it were a real blade.
After the twist, it was aimed at Jin’s ribs, a fatal blow if it connected.
Though the blade was aimed perfectly it suddenly stopped in mid air, refusing to be moved in any direction.
On second glance it was caught in Jin’s armored hand, as Jin tapped the dagger fastened in its sheath on the upper side of the lower left arm. After tapping it Jin scraped his index finger across Damien's throat.
The whole idea of the glove made sense now; the armored hand could be used to capture incoming weapons, or redirect them, then using the free hand Jin could use the dagger in a fatal attack. The tapping and finger across the throat that Jin did explained just that, the necessary movement to draw the dagger and open Damien’s throat for the world.
Damien sighed as he got back to a casual stance as Jin released the wooden sword; Damien acknowledged that this round was Jin’s.
“I guess it makes sense why you wanted that glove.” Damien stated in a smile.
“I thought it might work better than the sword.” Jin smiled back he hinted to their first fight.
“Rematch?” Damien grinned.
“Sure, but not just now though.” Jin replied with a slick grin, signaling his victory this round.
“With real weapons?” Damien added with hope in his voice.
“Only if I can use a cannon.” Jin grinned.
Remembering the brief description from earlier. “Wooden weapons it is.” Damien replied with a forced smile and one hand covering his groin in an uncontrollable male’s reaction.

Stepping away it seemed that Lucy had been there the whole time, looking quite happy.
Jin was slightly disappointed, of all girls that took a liking to him it had to be one way to young for him. Though, an extra friend could not hurt.
Walking over to her they started walking towards the main gates and the village some distance away.

Chapter 6 – Death is a pain.

Soon after they started walking Jin looked at the surroundings, first of all the sun was hidden behind some clouds, perhaps it would finally rain around here. Second it was but an open plain, or mostly an open plain between the town and the school.
There was a mountain range north of the school covering everything all the way down to its east side.
“So, why are you heading to town today?” Jin started mainly to make the silence disappear.
“I'm getting some new clothes.” She smiled, though her smile disappeared slowly after. “Why did you not die?” She suddenly asked only a second after answering Jin.
“Well, I don’t know what to say.” Jin answered as he gently scratched an inch on his left chin with his gloved hand.
“I saw what happened, you died, yet here you are. There is no one at school that can resurrect you, how did you do it?” She continued to pry as they walked along the traveled road.
“I don’t know, in this situation I think you would know more than me.” Jin stated truthfully. At least she might know the myth more than Jin does, as Jin does only know what he had experienced so far.
“Though.” Jin continued. “According to what I was told, there is a myth that regards me in this case. Apparently I cannot die by any other means than old age.” Jin smiled proudly. Regardless of how painful a wound is, or how many times he was to die, it was fun to know that he would still go on. “Not really sure if I am immortal, though it is a nice effect to have.” Jin grinned widely.
With this it seemed as the ice was broken, as the little girl would not shut up. Asking about his home country, his family if there was one, his last name, what his skills lie in and all sorts of questions.
Jin was astounded at this little girl, seeming to be rather run by her feelings; she did as she wanted when she wanted it.

The closer to town they came, the darker the clouds became.
By this point they were well close enough to see the town; Jin had underestimated its size.
It was no village as he initially assumed, it was a small town, with a plethora of shops both inside and outside. They sold a billion different things and Jin pictured himself getting lost here the first few times he where here.
Lucy on the other hand knew where to go, only natural if one considered the facts. Looking fairly happy about being there, Jin could not help to feel slightly glad as well smiling to himself as she darted back and forth like the young girl she was.
Though, several things he saw in the stores made him wonder, all until he stopped in front of one that sold what looked like humanoid beasts. Anthropomorphic creatures, some looking more like animals whereas some looked more human with only slight disfigurations, some being knee tall were some were the size of an adult human.
“What is this?” Jin asked fairly surprised, as well as a slight sense of pity for them, though the creatures themselves looked fairly happy about things.
Lucy came over and looked in the window Jin looked in, she walked over and tapped the window a few times making a handful of the creatures to walk to the window and rub themselves against the window as if they expected to be cuddled though it, much akin to a cat.
“These come from The Blighted Plains to the east, it was called Valito before the meteor hit. Something changed and everyone and everything living that enters there become something else. Some are violent and have to be put down for their own safety, but the gentler ones are sold as pets, at least they will be taken care of.” She explained, which made sense though Jin could not begin to understand what happened in Valeeto, or what she called it.

She continued to explain that ever since the meteor fell, changes happened. Plants died whereas some grew and even started moving around. Animals grew fiercer and some fused with the humans there. Sadly this was not contained at first, so a powerful magical barrier was created around by sinking some uniquely enchanted obelisks in the sea around the peninsula. So now all entry and exit is strictly controlled.
Though in the years since it happened the creatures on the inside have bread as was relatively normal, which is what the creatures in the windows was, they are highly valued as pets since it is rather easy to train some of them due to their human parts.
The good part was that some of them turned out so human, that they were taken in as a race of their own into the rest of the world. So though a rare sight, these creatures might be seen in some streets here and there.

Jin was not too in on the whole idea though he could see how it made it more humane for them to at least be cared for. This was also made up for them accepting the sentient ones as citizens.
Jin was dragged away from the window shortly after the explanation, as it was far from a rare sight to her.
Several minutes later and they were in front of a store Jin could not read the name of to save his life.
She darted in and did as girls do, trying on half of the store, where Jin sat patiently on a chair awaiting her to be done.
As he sat there in a half sleep state a familiar sound started from outside, heavy rain.
Jin got to his feet and walked towards the door to the streets, all other sound was blocked out so he was not even sure if anyone was talking to him, though at this point he did not care.
Opening the door he stepped outside, away from any cover and into the rain itself. It rained hard, the droplets were big and they hit hard, for rain that is.
Jin stretched his arms to the side as his face lifted to the sky, making it so that most amount of rain possible hit his body.
Though it could not be seen unless one was close at this point a few tears escaped the corner of his eyes.
“This feeling, this smell. The rain.” Jin stated to himself as he looked somewhat sad even though he sounded rather happy.
“Are you crying?” Lucy asked Jin. Being one that is often governed by her emotions she was also one that could very easily recognize them in others.
“The rain reminds me of home…” Jin answered without really thinking about anything. He had not been away from home for that long, though it was the fact he knew that he would not return that made it all the worse.
Jin’s arms had fallen back to their sides. “I'm never going back…” he muttered to himself. It was more of a whisper than anything, not meant for anyone beside himself. A reminder more than anything, his family, his friends everyone he ever knew, out of reach while he was somewhere that should not exist by his own world’s logic.
Still slightly hoping that it was a dream, he already knew it was not one, deep inside.
The rain continued to fall hard as ever, Jin’s attitude changed back to how they usually was, though he was completely wet it was not something he was not already used to.
Turning towards Lucy he looked at her with an honest smile. “So, you’re done shopping?”
She was a little taken back; though hesitant she reentered the store and brought out a few small bags.
“So, is that all for today?” Jin asks, wondering if they are heading back or if there will be more.
“Let’s get something to eat over there.” Lucy replied as she pointed at what seemed to be a small restaurant.
She darted away immediately, doing her best to stay under cover and not get wet, Jin were the opposite, he went in the rain and not that he cared about the covers he seemed to prefer to stay in the rain.
Though, as they got to this place Jin had to sit under cover as well as logically enough customers were not about to eat in the rain.
Sitting under a wooden roof, Lucy went to get whatever she wanted as Jin sat there waiting, guarding her newly bought clothes.
Jin was slowly drying, though depending on the way the clouds moved the sun should pop out in the matter of a few minutes, so if nothing else he would dry up faster.
Lucy returned with what seemed like a sundae of sorts, she sat down fairly happy as she started eating it. Jin could not do anything but smile at her innocence.
“So.” Lucy started between spoonfuls. “Do you come from Ral?” Though her question was clear, it sounded like there werea hidden meaning to her question.
Jin looking confused back. “Ral? Where is that?”
“You said it used to rain a lot at your home, I just assumed that you lived in the Rainy Plains on Otos Island, it is to the Northwest of here.” She explained, slightly sulking since she was wrong.
Jin let out a laugh. “No, and trust me, you have not heard about it.” He explained truthfully.
She looked at him rather confused, she was rather certain that she had heard of any city or village in the world, so naturally this was a rather weird comment.
Jin looked at her with a smile. “Don’t worry; it will become clear in a day or two.”
She seemed to look happier, if his words made this effect or if she just ignored it, it was hard to say.

“Hey, Lucy?” Jin started asking. She did not reply, she did not even move. It was like she was frozen, looking around she was not the only one.
Jin did not take any chances, feigning to be frozen as well he held his right hand on the handle of the dagger.
“Do not worry, I mean you no harm, yet.” A deep tone and calm voice stated behind him.
Jin turned around in a sharp movement, only to stare into the dark face of what seemed to be an elf judging by the ears. He had a hooded cloak on, though the hood was down at the moment, under it he had had a full leather set of armor.
“Who are you?” Jin demanded to know.
“You are the Immortal one, the one known as Jin? I sense that your power has yet to open fully.” The elf both asked and stated in his calm and menacing tone. It was like you take everything evil and all the hate in the world and turned it into a calm voice.
“What is it to you?” Jin replied.
“My master would be most happy to have one such as you.” The elf answered.
“Did you freeze all of these people, why? Fix it!” Jin’s question turned into a command.
The elf let out a deep and haunting chuckle. “Or you will do what?” he asked as a spine chilling grin grew on his face.
Jin stood there for a second, looking into the deep eyes completely vacant of any emotion.
Suddenly, Jin reached for his dagger at the same time he aimed his gloved hand at any weapon the elf might draw.
The elf seemed to move ever so slightly, though suddenly there was a sword in his right hand, the whole blade has a deep red color to it.
A splashing noise to his left forced Jin’s vision to follow it, only to see his own gloved hand lying in a puddle. Letting out a pain filled scream that echoed across the walls of the town Jin fell to his knees.
“I will repeat myself; or you will do what?” he asked again, the same twisted grin on his face, though this time filled with a hidden aura that seemed to grow from the smell of blood. “Do not worry; it will reattach itself without problem.” He stated in the same calm yet haunting manor as he slowly sheathed his blade as he calmly walked over towards Jin. “In your current state your power is far from fully awakened. My master has a gift for you.” The elf smiled with the same bone chilling effect, as he put on what looked like a set of golden rings which was linked together to each other as well as to a bracelet. As soon as he put it all on correctly it started to glow a crimson red color, taking a step forward the elf put in a punch with all of his weight and force into Jin’s chest. Jin tumbled backwards until he hit a wooden wall; the light from the elf’s contraption seemed to envelop Jin for several seconds before it faded away. At this time the ring and bracelet set the elf had disintegrated and faded away in a series of golden particles.
Darting forward, the elf had drawn a dagger with the same ominous red color as his long sword, stopping in front of Jin he grabbed and lifted Jin’s hand onto the wooden wall he was against. In a swift movement the elf forced the dagger though Jin’s hand and into the wooden wall, effectively locking him in place as his right hand was several meters away.
Jin let out a muffled scream only hindered by his own clenched teeth.
“You should be more interesting the next time.” The elf grinned widely, not as twisted as before. This time it was more of a glad effect, though still full of evil.
“We will meet again, Jin.” The elf stated as he laid a weird pressure on the name Jin, as if he resented it or knew some secret behind it.
Walking off several meters, a flash of dark purple light made him disappear, everyone started moving several seconds after the elf disappeared.
As people started moving again an echoing whisper forced itself in Jin’s head.
“I am Azaco… Don’t forget me…” The whisper stated in the elf’s twisted voice.

Lucy naturally being curious to as why Jin was sitting on the ground several meters away though her act changed to a slight panic as she saw the state he was in.
Running to his side, she first now saw the full extent to everything. Trying at first to pull the dagger out, all it did was causing Jin more pain.
“Bring my arm.” Jin stated between grunts of pain as he nodded towards his severed arm some meters to his left.
She ran over and picked it up, though a very weird feeling, holding a man’s severed arm she ran back to Jin.
By this time a small crowd had formed around them.
“Connect it.” Jin commanded as he reached out the stump that was once his left arm.
Lucy naturally being very nervous about things did as she was told the best she could, placing the stumps together she held it there as still as she could, as if she was watching glue dry.
Suddenly the limp hand started moving again, and in one single movement Jin used his now newly healed left arm to jerk out the dagger that was through his right hand in a single motion.

“Grab you stuff, we are leaving.” Jin commanded in a voice that demanded to be listened to. If he had the responsibility for her, he would prefer her to be back at the school. It seemed safer there, at least compared to here.
She went back to get her things, leaving over half of the sundae left, they started a fast pace walk back to the school as Jin placed the red bladed dagger in his pocket the best he could. The weirdest thing was that the wound in his hand was healing at a very slow manor. It was still at a super human speed, but it was much slower than any other wound he would expect. Even the one that killed him a few days ago closed in a few seconds.

“Sorry about this, I will make it up to you later on.” Jin smiled the best he could consider.
“It’s ok; you are just trying to protect me.” She smiled at him as she did her best to keep up with his pace.
He was a little taken back, though she was a young girl, and very emotionally driven, she seemed to have a good head on her shoulders. Though understanding the current situation was not hard, she still seemed to grasp the things fairly fast.
Thinking back a few minutes, Jin mentally re-watched the scene as he asked her about his arm, she did not even flinch. He could only begin to wonder what scenes she had seen earlier in her life to make this into nothing for her.

“So, which world are you from?” she suddenly asked.
Jin looked at her with questioning eyes. “I never sai*”
She interrupted him with a single world. “Nolis.” Apparently she did not ask about if he came from this island to the northwest, she wanted to try to make Jin reveal it himself.
Jin smiled as he sighed. “Well, yeah. He is the one that summoned me, I was under the impression that he would keep quiet, but it seems he did not.” Jin ended with a smile. His wound in his right hand had finally healed as well.
“I don’t know how to explain it, it is driven by technology, magic and dragons are only fairy tales.” Jin stated.
Lucy seemed rather intrigued about it.
Jin smiled at her, temporarily forgetting the whole ordeal. ”In the upcoming weeks I will be trying to reinvent a few items from my world. Don’t tell anyone and let the others just think that I'm smart, ok?” He grinned at her. He was halfway talking to her as if she as a child, though this was not intended, she had already proven herself to be more matured mentally than a normal girl her age.

They chatted about many things, Lucy promised to keep it to herself, Jin overflowing with thoughts of his world let most of them spill. Explaining things all from cars to skyscrapers, naturally Lucy did not believe everything, but it took the mind of the happenings of the town a few minutes ago.

As soon as they got to the school again, Jin told Lucy he had to talk to Cia, and she could do as she normally did, as long as she stayed on campus. Though not completely safe it was safer than the town.
Walking back up to Cia, something Jin was getting slightly sick of by this time, the same door was knocked on, the same reply was given and the same déjà vu feeling occurred as he entered.
“We might have a problem.” Jin started immediately, not wasting time with that chat.

Showing the dagger as he explained everything about the bracelet and ring contraption as well as the elf that named himself Azaco, Jin tried the best to bring details into his report of sorts.
It took several minutes as Cia asked for details that Jin left out, though in the end not too much was gathered from this.

Cia walked over to one of the many bookcases he had in his office, and started looking through several books, until he stopped and turned around towards Jin.
“Is this the bracelet he used?” Cia asked as he showed a page in a weird book with many weird makings and runes.
It was an artist’s drawing, but it was as close to the thing as one could make by drawing.
“Yes, it looked exactly like that.” Jin replied as he pointed at the image.

“It is called a Bracelet of Daco. They are incredibly rare objects created by a very old and wise man ages ago. They are said to unlock more of one’s’ power. So in my case it would make me a stronger mage in the element of Light. In your case I am not certain. Though based on things It seems that it either makes your pain from wounds lower, or heightens your healing capacity. Or both, how would I know?” Cia ended with a smile as he closed the book together, letting it make a sound as books often do when closed fast. “I suppose we could always do a second test.” Cia grinned as he went over to his staff again, grasping it much like the last test.
Jin considered it for a few seconds, the information made could prove to be really good to know.
“Ok, one small cut.” Jin answered.
Cia was confused for a second, he did not expect Jin to cooperate, though as the offer was made and accepted, the blade found itself extended from the staff once again.

Jin reached out his right arm as he closed his eyes, it would be better if he did not know about the cut until it was made. A moderate cut was made on Jin’s right lower arm, the blood from it moved as it would normally before it reversed itself and it was healed in a second.
Jin looked at it for a second. “The pain seemed to be duller this time. I'm not certain if it is the adrenaline or not, though the healing speed seems to be the same.” Jin stated, wondering how a duller pain could be a stronger version of his power. “Perhaps this bracelet has expired?” Jin added with a slight laugh.
“No.” Cia started. “It did something to you, I just do not know what yet. Though it seems the dagger he used to pierce your hand is enchanted in a weird way, it might be why your hand healed slower than usual as this wound healed as normal.” The blade from Cia’s staff had faded just after the wound was made, though he looked at Jin in an inspecting manor.
“Judging by what happened in town, I'm certain your ability will be known all over Albion in the matter of a week and in the upcoming months it should be spread around the other islands as well. I guess we might as well explain it to the students first, so it is not tested at random to test its effects.” Cia stated. Though he did have a valid point, it was the tone he said it in that made Jin wonder about his motives.

Walking over to, and opening, the door to the hallway down, Cia asked the woman outside for her assistance. The woman that Jin remembered making the announcement shortly after his summoning entered the door, following the principal they walked out to the balcony, Jin followed hesitantly.

A weird bell sound was made, and several seconds of silence was given as the students formed around the south side of the tower.
The principal started. “Due to unfortunate events, our dear Jin has been exposed. So instead of you hearing this by a rumor or any weird source, we decided that you should hear it from us directly.” Cia waved Jin ahead towards the edge of the balcony where he stood, so that every student could see them.
“Jin is what we could call and Immortal in many senses. If you cut of a limb, it will reattach without issue, if you kill him he will resurrect. If you blow him up he will rebuild himself.” Cia continued, though Jin understood why he made it this graphical, he could not help but to look back at his first death.
Cia continued. “Do not fear him for it; do not shun him for it. Please act towards him with the kindness you can. And have this presentation as an example.” Cia ended.

Jin was happy about this, now there would not be random acts of violence towards him to test his powers.
“Wait… What?” Jin stated surprised to himself. “What presenteati*… Oh no.” Jin interrupted himself as he understood.
“Sorry about this, it is the best way.” Cia stated.
“You just want to do this for your own amusement!” Jin shouted at the principal.
“True, that too.” Cia agreed as he used both hands to push Jin off the balcony.
His body heading en route towards the ground, at an escalating speed, the students all gasped in unison as some pointed and some covered in fear.
Lucy stood there as well and she did nothing by smile.

Jin hit the ground very hard as he managed to hit the stone road-like part of the ground, his body did as other bodies would do, not exactly staying on place and rather going all over the nearby ground.
The students started screaming, some cursed towards Cia, though someone noted something weird and pointed at the mess that was Jin.
During the course of 10 seconds or so, Jin’s body regenerated by reabsorbing every part that was splattered around the area, and after that time he was back to as he was before the fall. Lying on the back he looked to the sky.
“Ouch.” Was all Jin said initially. If nothing else this was used as a proof of him being alive.
The students had mixed feelings about this, none other were happier than Damien about this.
Lucy walked over to him and crouched beside him. “How do you feel?” she asked her previous temporary caretaker.
“Death is a pain…” He just muttered as a reply, still looking to the sky.

Chapter 7 – It Roars like the Dragon.

Having gotten to his feet Jin still felt a lingering pain all over, but it was not much to comment on.
The students all seemed like they had spotted a ghost, and in many senses they had. “What?” Jin asked the crowd with a slick smile on his face.
The lot did not say anything, though Damien had a weird grin where he stood on the back of the group.
“Annoyingly enough, I have to speak to Cia again...” Jin muttered to Lucy that was at his side at the moment. Jin’s left eye twitched slightly as he stated it since his mind played out a few scenarios where Cia used him for some testing.
Shaking these ideas from his mind he waved a good bye to Lucy as he again walked up the stairs to Cia’s office.
As he got there he did not knock as he normally would, a well placed kick forced the door to spring open as it slammed into the stone wall. “Why the hell did you do that!?” Jin shouted to Cia, his anger had time to brew on the climbing of the stairs.
Cia did not reply, he simply sat there and smiled widely, like a kid that knew he had done something bad but liked it far too much to care.
Jin sighed, there were no way he would get Cia to admit his fault, and a demonstration is the best way to show off some ability or skill. “I will get you for this.” Jin stated in a complete serious face.
“I’ll just have to watch my back then.“ Cia smiled back, not really seeming to care for the threat.

“I have some ideas for an old weapon from my world.” Jin started right away, not bothering to work his way up to it. ”I am in the need of Salt peter, sulfur and charcoal to begin with. I will need a mortar and pestle to make this work as I assume the charcoal comes in bricks. I will also need someone that can shape high density metal into something based on accurate measurements.” Jin stated his shopping list.
Cia looked back in a confused way. “What do you need these things for? You mention a weapon, what kind?” he asked in a more interested that confused way in the end.
“Your enemy soldiers have anti-magic spells cast on them, but physical attacks still work, right?” Jin smiled.
“Yes, all manner of non magical attacks still works.”
“Good.” Jin stated. “I'm going to build a cannon.” He added, knowing by himself just how powerful one can be.
“What is a canoon?” Cia asked, not really pronouncing it right.
“It is a weapon that shoots out an iron ball at such high speeds that it would without issue go through your outer wall.” Jin stated as he pointed at the outer wall that surrounded the school. “It has a very decent range as well.”
“How long will it take?” Cia stated as he started writing things on a piece of paper.
“After I have all the components, I will be done with the powder in a short time, so it is really based on how fast the metal worker is. If he is able to make this in an hour, I will be done in an hour. It will be a metal tube, closed off in one end, roughly this tall.” Jin stated as he held his hand in the air signaled the rough length of the cannon.
Cia seemed to be thinking about a few things that Jin mentioned. “Pierce the outer wall with ease you say?” he asked, seeming really interested at this point.
Jin grinned but said nothing, as a reply it was more than enough.
“Can you have one complete and working by tomorrow?” Cia asked.
Jin stared thinking, planning the necessary things in his mind. “If your metal worker is good enough, yes. Though there will be little sleep for us.” Jin answered.
“Good, since tomorrow Sir. Mordian, the King's inspector for progress in schools, will arrive and check the progress of the school. Depending on the progress and skill of the students the school budget will be changed. Soo…” Cia stopped his explanation in the end as he grinned at Jin.
“So, If I show my cannon and surprise him to the degree I know you all will be, you will be getting a nice boost to your budget, eh? Smart move; get a new weapon and a higher budget at the same time.” Jin added. He was not annoyed by this as in his mind this was also a good thing. If nothing else it meant that the school had more money, and more money meant that it would be easier for him to continue making things. “Can I expect a reward if I succeed? Split between me and this metal worker off course.” Jin grinned in a greedy manor; it meant a lot of work for him and his soon to be coworker.
Cia smiled, but did not reply. “A minute’s walk north of the school there is an old building. It might look bad but it contains everything a blacksmith needs, if nothing else it will supply you with tools and keep you away from the school.” Cia smiled. “I will have the materials and Owen sent there immediately. Expect everything within half an hour.” Cia explained as Jin had started to walk towards the door that was kicked open a minute ago. The light outside had started to slowly fade, so that signaled that evening was coming.
“Oh!” Jin stated as he stopped. “Give us a few lanterns that are encased in glass please, as what I will be making is not to be exposed to any flame.” He explained. “You will see tomorrow.” Jin stated as he left through the door and headed down the stairs.
His first step was getting his notebook and the writing utensils, after that he would head towards the building Cia mentioned.

Some 10 or so minutes later, Jin arrived at the building that Cia mentioned. Beside the door that lead into it stood an 18 or so year old boy with a messy hairdo of an inch long light brown hair, he wore the same school uniform as every single boy in the school did.
“Owen I assume?” Jin stated as he walked up to him.
“Yep.” He simply answered.
“You will not be forgotten after this.” Jin promised as he entered the door leading to the building.

It was surprisingly well kept for being inactive, it had a few wooden workbenches, as well as a forge in one corner and the walls were littered with various tools, near the forge stood a heavy duty anvil.

“This will work.” Jin stated. “We have a busy night; I assume that you have been told briefly what you are doing here?” Jin asked Owen.
“Yes, basically I am to make what you ask me to do.” He stated, feeling a little proud that he is working with the stranger on a weapon that would surpass many things.
“Let me show you the drawings and explain before the items get here.” Jin stated as he opened his book.

The materials arrived shortly after Jin started explaining, Owen seemed like a bright kid as he picked up things rather fast and was smart enough to ask questions right away if there was something rather than guessing later on.
Jin started working on the delicate powder, away from any live flames, as Owen started to make the main item, the metal tube Jin detailed for him. Converting the measurements were the main issue, though it was not too hard as it did not need to be down to smallest of measurements. As this was to be a prototype one could go a little more lenient with things.
Though as they had the option to change the size of the cannonball later if needed, this was not the biggest deal.
Through the night Jin and Owen worked as good as they could, even making a wooden frame to hold the cannon itself from the ground. Jim made most of this as the powder was not too hard to make and Owen needed to focus on the metalwork.
Owen was better than Jin assumed he was, so exploiting the extra time they had Jin had Owen make a few more items for the fun of it, just to spice up the day that were upon them.

As daylight showed its head, both Jin and Owen were asleep sitting on a chair leaning over a workbench. They managed to complete it not too long ago, so they took the liberty to sleep as long as they could.

While their nap was taking place, the King’s Inspector, Mordian, was doing what he did best. Asking questions and asking for demonstrations of random students.
He is a little on the fat side, blue pants and a red vest covering a light blue shirt. All this is covered by a royal blue cape. He wears a large blue hat with a white feather in.
The sad thing for the school this year was that the few that did improve were not too much compared to the lot that improved too slow or too little.
Needless to say, Mordian was not too happy about things and was about to state the lowering of the budget as he was interrupted by Cia.
“Sir Mordian. We have one more thing to show you, something created by Jin, our resident inventor.” Cia had to formulate it differently as he would normally do as he had to make the inspector interested.
It worked, though he was not too impressed with the school’s progress ne followed Cia and more or less the whole school to the building where Jin and Owen were sleeping.

Knocking on the door, both Cia and Mordian entered the building to find two sleeping men in there, covered with dust and whatnot.
Owen lifted his head and looked at their visitors in a haze. Realizing who it was and what this meant he shot to his feet and woke Jin.
Jin not being one used to the whole royal thing did not act any differently than he would to a beggar.
Seeing Cia there beside this person he could guess to who it were and whatnot.
“Oh, its morning already?” Jin asked still half asleep.
Mordian was far from impressed, though he was not stupid. Even though a craftsman is asleep and rude, he can still be a good person. Though judging by the state of the room they were in, as well as to the poor behavior of the men in front of him, he did not expect much.

Cia walked over to Jin and spoke in harsh but whispering tone. “What are you doing, Jin. If you do not impress him we will have our budget lowered, considerably.”
Jin pushed Cia away slightly as he got to his feet. “Don’t worry old man. Regardless of the reason seeing your face the second I wake up still does not feel right.” He smiled.
Picking up and positioning a bag he and Owen started opening a double side door, most likely made so that one could take in a carriage or something to fix it, Jin and Owen started pushing out the thing they were making all night. Jin had found a large piece of cloth he used to cover the whole thing, just for the fun of unveiling it as it were to be shown.

Having pushed the thing across a fair distance by now they stopped as Jin seemed to be rather happy about things.
Inhaling and exhaling deeply Jin seemed to look more awake at least.
Owen being fairly nervous as there was royalty at hand, Jin could not care less if it were the king himself.
Due to this Jin took it upon himself to do the talking.
“Sir Mordian I presume.” Jin stated towards the man in blue as he did a slight bow just to look fancy. “You may call me Jin, and I will be demonstrating my cannon today.” He stated, as if he had done things like this before.
Grabbing hold of the cloth that covered the whole thing, in a single movement he jerked the whole thing away, allowing the metalwork that Owen put into to it to shine in the sun. It was far from polished but it was still rather shiny.
The students looked impressed, though in Mordian’s eyes it was but a shiny metal tube on a wooden carriage to move its weight.
Jin grinned widely, he could see that Mordian was not impressed, all the better result when it is tested.
“Without further adieu, I say let’s show what it is capable of.” Jin turned towards the crown of students. “Could a few of you make a thick stone wall over there?” Jin grinned, he had used a lot of time to calculate the powder he had made based on the rough weight of the iron ball, and he knew what he was doing.
A few of the students made a 3 yard thick wall, some 100 yards away. It was the size of a small house.
Jin turned towards Mordian. “How much would you use to get through a wall like that?” He asked.
Mordian lifted his right hand and started to brush his chin as f he had a beard. “I would say a few direct hits with a catapult or 10 men on a battering ram for 10 minutes or so. With magic it could be taken out fairly easy depending on the strength of the mage.” He explained.
“So.” Jin began his reply. “If we assume this wall is something else, which has an anti-magic spell cast on it?”
“Then magic won’t work too well, and my other examples are the current best options.” Mordian replied with a calculating look on his face.
“Good…” Jin grinned as he started his work.

Getting help from Owen, he aimed the cannon according to his calculations. Taking out a paper cylinder from his bag he used a wooden pole to make sure it was all the way down in the metal tube.
After that he picked up one of the heavy iron balls and rolled it into the hole, using the same wooden pole to make sure it was all the way in there.
After that he used a thin wooden stick and poked it though the hole on the top of the metal tube, where he after poked in a black half-stiff cord.
As Jin had already explained the rough workings of it, Owen had been told what to do now.
Walking away from the cannon, he waved to the students as well as the adults to get further away.
Jin took out a glowing piece of cord fastened to a stick that Owen had been carrying along pushing the cannon with Jin.

“Well then, I bring you the Cannon!” Jin shouted as if he were introducing his own child.
Using the glowing cord that he had with him he lighted the fuse that burned slowly, the stick that held the glowing cord was poked hard enough into the ground to make it stand by itself.
“I urge you to plug your ears.” Jin recommended as he plugged his ears with two fingers.
The fuse burned slowly as the crowd followed Jin’s example and covered their ears.
As the fuse entered the small hole it was placed in only a small stream of smoke came out from the hole itself.
Suddenly the whole cannon roared a loud bass explosion much louder than the spell the students had been casting the last few days, echoed across the school and mountains that surrounded them and the pressure itself moved the whole cannon back several meters.
As the explosion made plenty of smoke it covered the muzzle of the cannon as well as a decent area around Jin himself.
Mordian looked at the cannon in curiosity. “So, it roars like a dragon, what more?” he asked unimpressed.
Jin grinned widely. “I fail to remember a wall being made as a target without reason.” He halfway insulted Mordian’s intelligence as he pointed to the wall.
Every eye in the area followed Jin’s pointing finger and saw not only had Jin aimed true, but most of the wall was torn from itself, the edges of it barely stood by itself, and the whole area between it was scattered up to a fair distance behind the wall itself.
“That my dear audience is a cannon.” Jin bragged as he made a bow, if nothing else showing his showmanship.
Mordian’s face changed, it was no longer the unimpressed face he had a few seconds ago, it was more of a look filled with terror and excitement.
Jin continued. “The cannon have many uses, be it a thick fortress wall, or an army of enemy soldiers. I am working on making the cannonballs explode after being shot as well; in that case they will work like this.” Jin grinned as every eye was again on him.
Jin took out a little black metal ball, though this one had a similar fuse to the one he used to light the cannon.

Jin lit the fuse and threw it with all his might away, making it land some 50 yards away.
The fuse made a lot of smoke as it got shorter.
A loud explosion echoed across the mountains again, this one was more high pitch, but the crater left behind told enough for an example.
“That is a common bomb, I call them grenades.” Jin grinned the whole time.”Consider if you mix the delivery of the cannon with the exploding effect of the grenade.” Jin ended his demonstration as both he and Owen bowed.
Mordian gave them an applause that had not been seen from a royalty before.
Cia walked over to Jin and Owen. “I think he liked it.”
Jin looked at Cia with a disappointed look. “And you doubted me… I told you I knew you would be surprised.”

Jin took a few steps away and ended up sitting down on the still warm barrel of the cannon, still being tired form the night’s work.
Not to mention that he had not really relaxed since the happenings in town the day before.
Mordian walked over to Cia and started saying a lot of things that Jin could not care less about, he was tired and wanted to sleep.
As Jin started thinking about it, he had not slept in a comfortable bed in this world yet, the closest he had been was the prison cell.
Looking to his side he saw that Owen looked even more tired than he was, which was only natural considering the amount of concentration and energy creating a cannon and its parts in one night.

Jin got to his feet and signaled Owen to help him, in the matter of a minute or two they had pushed the cannon back into the workshop.
The doors were closed and locked shortly after, Jin started walking back towards the gates of the school grounds; he was tired as well and was aiming for his bed.
Tapping Owen on the shoulder as he walked past him Owen just nodded back.
Jin got some 10 meters away from the crowd as he was called for, turning it was Mordian that did the calling.
“What? I'm tired.” Jin stated, again paying no regard to social status.
“How much for this, canon?” he asked.
Jin tilted his head. “First of all, it is a cannon, cannon! Not canon, not canoon.” Jin stated as he walked closer, ending up some 3 meters away. “Second, I'm not selling it. Not that it will do you good without the powder anyway.” Jin stated as he turned around, again aiming for a soft and comfortable bed.
“1000 gold pieces.” Mordian suggested.
Jin looked at him in a questioning manor. “Is that a lot?”
Mordian’s jaw dropped. “Is… Is that a lot? You can buy a small house for that, fully furnished.”
Jin grinned. “No sale.” As he turned back again towards the school everyone standing there started discussing between another.
“But… Why not? It is ample pay for one night’s work, no?” Mordian asked, in an attempt to make Jin reconsider.
Jin stopped again, sighing deep as he turned around. “If you are willing to pay that much for the prototype that does not even work to its full capacity, I'm looking forward to hearing your pay for the complete version.” Jin explained as he walked closer, this time stopping at arm’s reach between the two.
“I will sell this though.” He stated to Mordian as he took out another of the grenades he used earlier. “The other one was a demonstration; this one should have almost double the effect.” Jin grinned widely.
“How much?” Mordian asked.
Jin thought on it for a few minutes, he assumed that the smart people at the castle would manufacture and mass produce them in the matter of days, the black powder was not that hard to make either.
“600 gold, one chance.” Jin sated as he tossed the grenade into the air a few times, as if he was weighing it.
Mordian looked at Jin with weird eyes. “600 gold for that single ba*”
Jin interrupted him in mid sentence. “I guess not then, enjoy your ride back.” He stated as he placed the grenade back in the bag he was carrying.
“O… OK. 600 gold.” Mordian decided in the end.
“You lost your chance; you should have gotten it when you had the chance. Good night Sir Mordian” Jin stated, not bothering to stop or turn around simply waving to everyone behind him.
Mordian was surprisingly calm about the whole ordeal.
“I will talk to him; I might make him change his mind.” Cia broke in.
“I like that man.” Mordian suddenly added.
The crowd was baffled to say the least; Jin had just insulted a royal person as well as lost 600 gold pieces.
“He knows the worth of information, and even more so the value of weapons.” Mordian stated as he looked at the chaos the cannon created on the stone wall with a single shot.
Mordian turned towards Cia. “If you can encourage him to make more cannons, or more things for the kingdom of Albion, consider your school on the top of the budget list for years to come.” Mordian grinned widely. “I must return to the King and let him know.” He added before he left towards his carriage that was placed near the gates.

In the matter of minutes Mordian had left the school, and Jin found himself on the inside of his locked door, heading to his warm and comfortable bed.
Cia could do little but laugh, here they had summoned a person from a different world. Effectively having him torn from his own life, and he still helped the school though one of its most important things. Cia was not dumb, and he had understood that Jin knew what he was talking about as well, every statement considering his cannon and its potential was not understated, and this was only a prototype. Not to mention how Jin managed to make the royal inspector clap his hands like a hyped kid.
Cia looked to the sky, perhaps he did owe Jin a reward of sorts. Thought for now he had things to do, the school day was only at its rough half point.
