The Matrix - Rebuilding

Prologue
"It's over! Zion, he did it, the war is over! The war is over!" Cheers erupted all throughout the temple as the citizens of Zion erupted into euphoria. People were crying, tears of joy, tears of sorrow. Tears for the heros that saved them, and tears for those that gave their lives to do so. The celebrating went on long into the night.
The next morning a council meeting was called with the remaining ship captains, Morpheus, Roland, and Niobi. Commander Lock was also in attendance.
"So Morpheus, he did it after all. Neo saved us", said Councillor Hamann.
"It would seem so councillor, I always held faith in him and to the very end I never doubted him."
" And you were right to do so, look at what has happened. We lost every ship, our entire defense network, and thousands of lives. All of this could have been avoided if we had listened to you. So we humbly ask your pardon for not believing in Neo".
"Councillor, if I may?" Commander Lock interjected. " Morpheus, I also ask your pardon for not believing you, and for criticizing what you believed, I am sorry."
"Councillors, Commander, an apologie is not nessescary. You did what you believed you had to do, just as Neo did what he had to do. If Commander Lock and Captain Mifune didn't defend the dock so valiantly we would have been too late when we arrived, and Neo would have never made it to the machine city in time to save us. Rest assured, that all the lives lost were not lost in vain. However, I must ask, what is our capability to access the Matrix? Now that the war is over, I believe that we must consult the Oracle if the peace is to last."
"Commander?" Said councillor Hamann.
"While we haven't been able to access the dock, Holographics reported this morning that our newest hovercraft under construction, the Odin, somehow escaped damage, Once we are able to access the dock again, I will order that it be finished as a first priority."
"And how long will that take commander?" asked councillor Grace.
"It is at this time not known Councillor. Workers began clearing the debris from the shaft about an hour ago, it will take us two days at least to reach the dock. After that it will all depend on what tools we still have. The best case scenario would be three weeks."
"Very well, we have a lot of work to do" said Grace. "Commander, you will be charged with the rebuilding effort. Captain Roland, you will be the temporary commander of the Infantry. Captain Niobe, you will lead the APU Corps once we salvage the remaining APU's, Captain Morpheus, you will be the Captain of the Odin when it is finished. Until then you can direct the construction effort. This Council is adjourned."
The councillors rose and began to file out of the room. Morpheus turned around and began to leave but then Roland approached him. "How did you know?" He said.
"I never knew Roland" said Morpheus "I Believed."
