I am a big fan of the series and I am wondering how many here are also fans. I put this in the PS section since it is possible to play every game on the PS2.

My fav character is easily Kain being totally evil self obbsessed. Intelligent, cunning and able to hide his true potential he is an amazingly complex character with great depth to him.

Second I like the Elder God he is no god in reality but he is a very old and powerful being. A master of manipulation and control he has influenced eveyone in the entire series and manipulated tem masterfuly. Such a being has no equal in terms of skill in manipulation.

Out of all the places in the series I was some what fond of meridian in Blood Omen two being the only true city you ever actually go to in the eries and able to wander the street and teroraise the Humans there. That was truly a wonderful experiance, marred only by the fact it was not as free roaming as I might have liked.

ya it's so cool game u can also use some kind of magic me and my young bro play it alot:)

Indeed, the Legacy of Kain series is quite excellent. I was instantly hooked to the first Blood Omen many years ago, as the story was great, and the level of advancements you make throughout the game add a good touch of 'RPG-ness' to it all. Once Soul Reaver came out, well the opening sequence and turn of events was enough to make me enjoy the game despite losing the role of Kain as the playable character.

But Raziel was also a grand character, as his personality and wisdom was as interesting as his ethics and contempt for what Kain did to he and his former brethren; defiling the corpses of the Sarafan Priests. The puzzles for Soul Reaver were also well thought-out, and the bosses looked great.

The plot twists for Blood Omen 2 were a little surprising, but I came to accept how dramatic the storyline had been changed; with those alien beings and all. It made my skin crawl to see Janos Audron; that was just awesome. Soul Reaver 2 was to my liking, and I have yet to start Defiance. I can't wait though; and once I am done going through the first four titles again, I'll resume the quest of the Legacy of Kain...

I suggest you play Defiance as soon as possible for it is truly superb. You get to play as both Kain and Raziel and it is the older Kain aswell which is a first in the series.

The action is plentyfull though there are very few puzzles in Defiance so it is quite different from the SR games.
However the storyline is brilliant finally many pivotal questions are answered and a few things start to make sense at last.

Yes, I had heard about how you get to fill the shoes (more or less.) of the protagonist and the antagonist for this instalment of the Kain series. I have played the start of the game, about one minute into it just to check it out. I like the stunning visuals, and the Opening to Soul Reaver and the Ending looked stunning (in the 'Extras' area outside the game) as it seemed they were re-made.

The 'Dark Chronicle' area looked fantastic as well, and Kain's re-telling of the events in Soul Reaver were quite good. I've got to hold off playing it until I am done with Soul Reaver 2 though; which is going to be delayed for a while until I get a new copy of the game as my old one is screwed... Thanks for the advice.
