The controls in the game are way too annoying

If anyone can advise me on how to get rid of these problems other than to get the official joypad (which I ordered earlier this week off Amazon UK), I'd be grateful. But the amount of times I have accidentally removed all my actions from the bar whilst trying to wade through the mass of players to kill an enemy is atrocious. I do love how similar it is to XII if you only had one character all the way through, but the amount of times I trip up is enough to make me wait until I have the joypad, or constantly Google and read up on work-arounds. Does anyone else have any problems with the controls and mechanics? I still think this game could do with some updates to make it less annoying.

Edit: And the chat, even when I want to use the chat, the cursor automatically goes into the battle right after I've typed something so if I try and type something else, a load of boxes open up and sometimes those same actions are removed from the bar again. Is there a way to turn the damn thing off?

I'm sure there are still some kinks that need to be worked out. Even an anticipated remake has its bugs, especially when it's an MMO.

I've heard elsewhere of some of the issues you've described though. My copy of the game is waiting for me at home, so I'm sure I'll notice a few things myself. I don't think these issues will hinder gameplay too much though.

Oh really? Well hope you enjoy it. I do like the game a lot, but the problems can be really annoying at times. I just tried calibrating a joypad I used to use for my emulator, but when calibrating it, it seems it has less buttons than the game actually uses so it kept giving me "Button already assigned" errors. The official joypad is expected to be dispatched next week or a little earlier but I'm so inpatient.

I remember on FFXII, all I had to do was go near an enemy and probably press a maximum or two buttons to attack. Until I get this joypad, I have to walk up to an enemy, right-click it, and then press the actions but it's really awkward, specially in awkward situations.
