Why was Omega Weapon an a-hole?

Well anyway, I REALLY hated sorceress Adel. I didn't like how when I was a super newbie back when I was like 13 and didn't know about the Lionheart, and relied on GF summons 95% of the time, she was torturing poor Rinoa with Drains.
