Before World War I, woman did not have the right to vote in Britain. After restrictions were lifted on requirements for the right to vote, woman began to campaign for their own right and resulted in splitting up into two opposing groups:

The Suffragists and The Suffragettes.

Now, for the debate: Which group do you believe did more for woman in order to give them the right to vote? Do you believe one of these groups did more than the other, or do you believe that there was a balance?

As a reminder: SuffraGISTS didn't use their fists, SuffraGETTES did.

I'd say that the suffragists did more because if you compare this campaign to the Martin Luther campaign... Then who do you think would have done more Martin Luther or some equally popular guy that just beats people up to get what he wants? I'd say Martin would have done more... Also if you go out and use your fists, you're likely to be killed not respected...

It so happened that the support was also split down the middle - the Suffragettes gained much publicity, but were hated by the Government, hence the arrests and, later, the "Cat and Mouse Act". The Suffragists gained support from the Government, but did not particularly move the public.

You know that seems about right I hadn't considered popularity as a determining factor (dumb variables there's so gosh darn many) anyways... that makes sense but I don't think you would favor people who beat up other people...
