When did Kairi give Sora her heart?

I'm replaying it (slowly but steadily), and have gotten up to Deep Jungle. I remember that the whole reason she gave it to him was for him to keep it safe when their Island fell to the Darkness.

I think it was at the start when she's standing by the door, and then she flies into him and goes 'Sora..'
But you hear this little 'clink' kind of noise. Like they freeze for half a second when she touches him, the 'clink' happens and then she flies through him. What made me think this even more is in Deep Jungle, when he sees Kairi behind Tarzan.

I know that could have been him remembering her, but why would he have a vision of her. Why not a memory? I don't think he's asked Tarzan about Riku and Kairi yet when that happens, nothing's really triggered it, so why Kairi and why there?

I checked with Vikki and she said it was too early in the game and that was just him remembering her. That her heart was just floating around. Well, then when was it?

I kinda think it was at the beginning, like you said, and he carried it throughout the game. If not... I have no idea WHEN it was.

When else could it have been? >.> I should replay KH again and see what I think about it, actually. I remember her like flying at him and all, but I don't remember the little freeze and clink noise... hmm... Good question there, though >.> I'll get back to you on this.

Why do you even care? It has been a while since I played it, but I think it is one of these time/spaces.
At the very beginning.
When the fake flies through Sora.
The jungle.
Hollow Bastion.
When she gives you the Oath Keeper.
Those are the places I think it might have happened.

Why do I care? Because I'd just like to know. It's like people trying to figure out the Organization's real names. Thankyou for your contribution, but I don't like the way you asked me that.

Thanks btw Jess. I had my volume up pretty loud, maybe it's only a slight sound. It is quick, though. It might've been in Neverland? But she never had real contact with him other than him reaching for her through the grate.

Of course, you guys are talking about physically giving him her heart. It could be more metaphorical and be about love, rather than physically handing him her heart.

I could be wrong, just a theory, but just maybe the fact that they loved eachother, and he kept her memory in his own heart was enough to have the power of her heart

Kairi definitely gave her heart's spirit at least to Sora. 'Tis a video game, yes? It would be rather fucked if it was a beating, gory organ; what teenage boy would want that?

I always thought it happened in the beginning. Her transparent body going through his seemed like a likely enough time for it to happen I think.

The times we see her after, when she's coherent and talking to Sora is probably her spirit, and the comatose body is just a shell offering nothing >.<
