Who here has read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy novels by the late, great Douglas Adams? Started reading these recently after some recommendations from others and found them to be really enjoyable, similar to other authors like Terry Pratchett but set in a sci-fi rather than a fantasy setting but has a similar style of dry humour. Marvin the Paranoid Android is the perfect example of this and one of the classic characters of fiction.

What do you people think?

I'm trying to dig out my dads copies of the books. He has them somewhere.

I was kinda hoping you were leaving...

but no, I haven't read them. I watched the original movie series. Good series. The new movie wasn't even worth my time.

Yea, I own the mini-series. It is decent. I can't even imagine how the new movie is good with replacing all the characters, once filled by goofy british actors, with modern icons. The worst one has got to be Mos Def for Ford Prefect.

borrowed hitchhikers guide from a friend the other week , really should sit down and get it started, i mean its not like its gonna take long to read...

and i didn't think the newest movie was bad, i thought it was hilarious, but then again i have not scene the original series or read any of the books yet...
