It was bugging me since the first time I played with Snow in a battle and I haven't seen any threads about it, so...

What's special about his coat?

You must have noticed that while outside of battle, it looks like a normal coat. But while in battle, it has some strange symbol on it. Moreover, this symbol gradually changes, probably by progressing the plot (I am not sure as I have totally no idea what the heck it is)

Its some kind of technology created by PSICOM i think. I know that it doesnt change depending on the storyline, It depends on what coat you have equipped lol

Oh thank God! I thought I was going mad! Yeah I noticed the symbol on the back change afew times. Thought I was imaging it XD

By "what coat you have equipped", you mean the accessory he has equiped?
I am pretty sure the symbol gets bigger the more you play, I doubt it has something to do with his equipment...

I don't get why SE didn't write about it in the DataLog. I always read it in hope to find info on this coat and... nothing... simply nothing...

the symbol on his coat changes depending on what weapon is currently equpped not accessory.. the symbol doesnt have anything to do with the storyline..
example.. if his current weapon is Wild Bear.. the symbol on his coat is a bear.. if his weapon is Save the Queen.. the symbol is wings.. cant remember the other symbols.. his coat is his weapon...

This. ^

I noticed it, it had me a bit confused at first, but it didn't take long to realise that it was his weapon. :hmmm:

If it changed through the storyline, why wasn't it in cutscenes? xD
Then again, it is a bit odd seeing him have a plain white coat and then a few seconds later having some form of symbol on the back of it.

But yeah, it's his weapon. :hmmm:

LOL

Now that I think about it, it's logical. When you change a character's weapon, you see a different weapon in battle. But Snow fights with his fists and I don't remember seeing his hands change or something. So the coat changes instead. Thus, his weapon is basically his coat and that's one heck of WTF.
Especially since he doesn't actually fight with his coat...

I think the coat just amplifies his power, who says a weapon is actually a "weapon", as such?
This would make more sense, the symbols normally represent the names, and with each new symbol comes different levels of power.
We've had weirder weapons before though, to be fair. Magical Moogles, (My favourite of which is an Onion with a sword and shield.) blitzballs, Flutes, Rackets etc.
And even so, there's still Hope too, he uses Boomerangs, that's quite an unusual weapon too. :hmmm:

I think the symbol on the back changes when he changes his battle type, I have seen it as different colors.

Yes, it's his weapon. I read somewhere that the equipment he has currently on isn't actually a glove but the marking that boosts his stats that somehow gets applied to his coat. :hmmm:

i think that, because he fights with his fists, square wanted a way too still have a visually customizable aspect with his gear, much like Red from vii, he didnt nead the weapons but they were included for mechanics sake...

snow is a cool character, and players have the oporotunity to see his rock out in better gear, thats all..

at least thats my opinion
