i only recently 'found' them, and i know they've been around for a while now. i actually found them through www.pandora.com

great site btw.

i was listening to muse (who i love) and it suggested quasi.

so i listened to quasi, then read up about them a bit. thought it was really cool to see/hear such a powerful female drummer, so i researched janet weiss a bit (totally have a crush on her, even though she's like 43)

anyways, that led me to sleater-kinney, and man these girls can really play. it's freakin awesome. and i've always been partial to chicks who can really rock out, but these girls have so much energy and talent. anyways, my favorite song is jumpers. i like how the song is sorta fatalistic and hopeful at the same time.

any other fans out there?

Yes, yes, YES

Love them, they were a fantastic band, such a shame that they split up. My favourite albums of theirs was the final one, The Woods. The sound is much heavier and denser than on previous records and it works really well, it's a thunderous record. And the 11 minute Let's Call It Love is brilliant.

great to find a fellow fan! i've just started listening to them, but i'll definitely check out that album. and yeah, it sucks that they split up. but they did write like 8 albums together, which is a lot for anybody.

Damn, that name sure brings back memories. I was never really an avid listener but I certainly remember hearing their stuff a few years ago and thinking it was rather good. I may have to take another look into them as I'd completely forgot they existed.
