Well, here's a poem of mine. Enjoy.
Sigma
By Anthony Hernandez
What a lovely mess the world has become
The hauntings and the taintings
Of our everyday life suddenly
Become clearer as the sky
Begins to collapse in on us
With all the stars in space sitting
In their thrones and looking down
Laughing at us
While we all lay down here on
The collapsing dirt around us
Looking like little ants
Under the magnifying glass
Praying for the mercy of
The children above us
Who sit and giggle over the
Pleasure they squeeze from our
Weak little bodies and
Unfortunate circumstances
As we squirm beneath their
Radiance
Unless of course you’re one of those
Children who is doing the tormenting
And gaining what little left
There is to take from those below
For their own benefit to suit
Their needs, wants, desires, and
Greed
After all, Greed is the supreme
Mead and Weed of those who
Bleed for themselves and Heed
Not a word from those who truly
Need to be Freed from them
Agreed?
They like to say that the sky
Is the limit but really
Those in the sky are only those
Like Lucy who have nothing better
To do than trip over their Diamonds
And laugh
As their trips of psychedelic, blind
Carelessness with the people of whom
They put themselves under oath to
Serve and protect with their lives
When all they want is the money
As another way they can say they’re
Better than you
Then there’s those who run around
In drab white fabricated finery
Who would sacrifice themselves
And everything they have
Vice or Virtue
For symbols engraved in books
Cross, star, swastika
Whatever
Life is a realm that is all about choice
You gotta
Perceive what you wanna perceive
Believe what you wanna believe
And, above all else, you gotta
Achieve what you wanna achieve
For anyone that may be reading this
Remember this, the zenith of things
Is available to all of those who try
To reach it, grasp it, and take it
As their own personal possession
But remember that the zenith is only
The top, and the top needs the bottom
The filthiest gutters and rungs
To keep itself on top
