Well this game is coming out soon and I can not wait to get it. Im a huge fan of Shin Megami Tensei! Anyone else getting this? Is it a sequel or like just a spinoff? Its on the Ds but it still looks great.

I'm playing it now and it's a pretty good SRPG for the DS. The demon breeding aspect (combining different demons for different results and varying abilities) isn't my favorite, but its certainly tolerable. I'd certainly recommend it. Oh, and I'm not really familiar with the series (its my first Megten), but from all I've heard DS (DEVIL SURVIVOR...DS...OMG AREN'T THEY CUTE!?!) is indeed a spin-off.

Almost every game that falls under the MegaTen umbrella is a spin-off. There's only 4 games (soon to be 5) that are in the "main series" and 1 of the games in the main series (as well as the upcoming one) could be considered a spinoff as well.

I always found the MegTen series to be one of my favorites after my friend introduced me to the Persona games (I really recommend these). As for Devil Survivor, the whole demon fusion system is something you usually find in this series, but I'm pretty fond of it. I mean, it's unique if you think about it. The game itself is well done. I just wish it were a little bit longer, but I guess it's fine. The game has multiple endings and paths to choose from, so playing it over again really isn't a waste. So, yup, I'd definately recommend Devil Survivor. It's challenging, so I doubt you'd get bored very easily.
