Intended for all RP's.
Name – Sevan Khegart
Alignment – Chaotic Neutral
Race – Bangaa are lizard humanoids that are, arguably, the most integrated race in Hume society. Possessing superior strength, reflexes, and other physical abilities, they are mainly employed for their physical prowess in hard labor and warfare. To other races (particularly Humes), there are no distinctive differences between male and female other than their voice pitches. Most Bangaa operate within the confines of a Hume society, as the Bangaa lack a nation that they call their own. The average life of a Bangaa is comparable to double that of a Hume.
Bangaa have several distinct physical features. The most notable feature is their scaled skin, which ranges mainly in earthly tones. The chest area is usually a lighter tone than other areas of the body, such as the head, arms, and legs. Bangaa may also have a long, narrow snout or a short, stub snout. Their snouts render speech difficult, making them impractical magic users. They also have tails at 2-3 feet in length. In addition to their snouts and tails, Bangaa also sport long, thick tendrils that extend from the top of their heads that act as "hair". Bangaa eyesight is generally poor, the eye structure alters between circular and slit (depending on lighting conditions), and eye color ranges from blues to deep greens and oranges. They have two claw-like fingers per hand (not counting the thumb) and four toes per foot, with a similar claw feel. Bangaa stand and walk digitigrade.
Gender – Male
Age – 25. For a Bangaa, this is the physical and mental equivalent of a late teenager.
Appearance – Sevan's skin color is an orange, with the lighter areas (chest, inside arms, tendril tips) being a tan color. His eyes are a deep, emerald green and reveal his inexperience. Despite his young age, his fledgling combat experience has contributed to a dense muscle structure that most common Bangaa would be weary of. His snout is long and narrow with a few gray spots around the nose; there is a light scar about two inches long across the bridge of the snout from combat.
As a mercenary, his body is under constant stress and work. In spite of his youth, his skin has already started to become rough and durable. Because of his job, he's generally dirty and unwashed. His hands, like the rest of his body, are showing signs of toughening. His knuckles share the same sparse gray spots as his snout, and his nails are a pearly white. On his upper arms are his families emblem, an oval with a long "X" intersecting it, in a dark red tattoo ink. He tries to hold himself with an air of professionalism, though, to the trained eye, it reeks of inexperience. He stands at 6'2'', and weighs around 326 lbs.
Attire – When not in armor (which he generally isn't), Sevan sports a pair of blue and brown breeches that are common among Bangaa. The breeches are simple and baggy, being a sewed mesh of denim and cloth, ending with a tight series of blue cloth wrappings above the ankles of his legs. The breeches design feature a blue crotch area, with brown cloth pant legs extending down to a few inches above the ankle. The cloth has no embroideries, and is beginning to show signs of tear with apparent mending and repairs. Sevan wears these breeches because the baggy nature allows for him to better cool himself during combat.
In addition to these breeches, Sevan wears a white cloth belt around the top of the breeches and some white cloth around his wrists. Unlike the breeches, the belt has a simple embroidery pattern: an orange rectangular pattern with orange blocks connected to each other via orange lines in a "teeth" pattern. Attached to the belt on his right side is a small pouch which usually hold his money that he uses when off duty. The cloth around his wrists are a lackluster white, lack any embroidery, and are used to strengthen Seven's wrists.
Armour – Much like his Ordynka-Khegart and short sword, the majority of Sevans' armor are a bunch of used pieces that Sevan has managed to collect. His main armor components are: his helmet, his armor arm plating, his gauntlets, his corsair, and his loose, plated skirt. Even though each piece of armor doesn't match, all pieces are made of a strong metallic substance.
The helmet that Sevan wears is specifically designed for use by Bangaan soldiers. He found this helmet when shopping in a town after a job, and he decided that he needed some form of head protection. It's a solid copper plate which covers the crown and upper-back neck areas. There is a nose guard that extends down to Sevan's eye-level, ending in a flat cut. The helmet has a few small indentations and scratches from the previous owners. The helmet is attached to Servan's head via a leather strap.
Sevan's arm armor plating are one of the two armor gifts that he received from his family. Extending from his shoulder down to his wrists, these plates were a gift from his older brother. Protecting only the exterior sides of his arms, they are tied in place via a series of leather straps that circumvent around Sevan's entire arm at key positions. The armor is a ebony black with grey scratch marks where blows managed to break through the initial coating on the armor. While providing protection, the exclusion of the interior arms allows for better arm mobility and speed.
Sevan acquired his gauntlets in the same manner as his helmet: bartering at the bargain shop of a local town. The gauntlets, like his helmet, is specifically fitted for Bangaan use and, like the rest of his armor, does not match at all. While the arm armor plating is ebony, the gauntlets are a simple steel-silver hue. The amount of metal used is modest, allowing for better flexibility than full gauntlets, but not providing the same freedom as leather or cloth. Underneath the actual metal is a dark brown leather glove that is directly sewn to the metallic plates.
The second armor gift from his family, Sevan's corsair is one of the two gifts he received from his father. Bearing Sevan's family emblem, the corsair is one of the most beat-up and treasured pieces that he owns. The corsair extends to the edge of Sevan's collarbone all the way down to his hips. The corsair, comprised of two pieces, has one piece protecting the chest and the other piece protecting the back. Connected by a series of leather straps, this is the most time consuming piece of armor for Sevan to put on, as it usually requires the help of another person. The corsair is the same color as the sword and pole parts of the Ordynka-Khegart while the family emblem is the same color as the hilt guard. Over the right shoulder is a small loop extending out of the armor upwards. This loop is used to place colored fabrics (as directed by his employers) to help identify himself from his enemy.
The final piece of armor that Sevan wears a metal plated skirt that extends from his hips down to his mid-thigh. The skirt is tied via a leather belt that latches at his right hip. The plates are primarily focused to cover the front leg area with a thin level of chain left to protect the rear of the skirt. The plates themselves are a brilliant silver, with chain mail acting as the thread between the numerous plates. One of the first major spoils he received, he prides himself over his prize that he won. When he was hired along with several other mercenaries by a small village to help defend against attacks and raids by a group of bandits. After assaulting their main camp, Sevan managed to fight and defeat their leader, granting him this piece of armor. This is one of the few possessions that shows no sign of age, use, or damage.
Personality – Sevan, being young, tends to fool around when alone or with other people his age. When on duty, he attempts to be as professional and adult as he can, but his naivete generally proves stronger than his devotion to the task at hand. When not on duty, he lazes around, looking for something fun or interesting to do.
On the battlefield, Sevan used to be extremely green. However, he has begun to become calm and collected when in battle, albeit a bit shaky. He becomes more serious when in battle (but not much) as he tries to earn his living. When fighting an enemy soldier, he aims to maim, not kill, because he feels a certain sympathy towards people in his own line of work. When in an occupied territory, Sevan tries to remain as distant from the local population as possible, as he feels that it may cause a public outcry that may incite a rebellion against his company's outfit. If pestered and harassed, he will try to ignore it. If threatened, he will try to diffuse the situation, only resorting to fighting if in mortal danger.
Sevan acts very differently when in civilian life. When not on duty, he tends to find the nearest inn and waste time around the town sight-seeing and drinking. If someone he didn't know were to say hello to Sevan in public, he would react with some confusion but still say hello. When in the company of friends, he enjoys hanging loose and having a good time, which is expected from someone his age. When it comes to family, Sevan treats them with utter respect, as is custom in his culture.
On a side note, he, like most Bangaa, resents being referred to as inferior or as lizards. Any such insults usually result in Sevan storming off in a fit. The only time he'll endure such statements is when under the pressure from a higher officer or his employer.
First Impression – As a Bangaa, Sevan tends to stick out in most Hume scenes. In contrast, Sevan blends in well with the Bangaa areas. The average Hume tends to see Sevan as an imposing figure and refrains from making much contact with him. If he's clad in his armor, then Humes will either shirk away from dealing with him or laugh at the absurdity of the piece-meal nature of his armor. To his fellow Bangaa, Sevan is considered to be rather average, and is initially treated as such.
Strength – On a good day, Sevan could lift an empty wooden merchant cart (350 lbs.-ish) with some difficulty. Sevan could also try lifting a cart full of empty vases (500 lbs. <), and be strained physically. Sevan's strength is also dependent on whether he's equipped his armor and weapons, as they put a strain on his strength. Without armor, a well placed punch could knock an average Hume without head protection out cold, probably breaking a jaw bone in the process. With armor, his punches acquire more momentum, and can, if allowed, be a mortal blow against an average Hume without head protection.
Speed – Sevan is pretty agile without armor on; a tribute of his race. However, when fully clad, his movements slow down considerably. Without armor, he could run at about 24 mph (his current personal best). However, when in armor, his running speed slows down to about 17 mph, at most. Sevan's punches are rather quick. However, his weapon's speed (with armor) are much slower, depending on the level of thrust and precision put into the blow.
Endurance – Sevan, in short, can take a hit. With his plated armor and Bangaan skin, he's meant to be the heavy hitter. If he's fresh and full armored, he could take numerous blows from enemy soldiers for about two minutes before needed to be relieved. Sevan can fight non-stop (swing after swing) in full armor for about 4 minutes till his combat performance drops dramatically. Afterward, he must retreat and recoup. Sevan can run, without armor, for a few miles without tiring out. With his armor, Sevan can only run a half of a mile before tiring himself out.

Reflexes – Sevan's reflexes are fairly standard for a Bangaan warrior. An example of his reflexes is that he could dodge a rock thrown in the dark from thirty feet away traveling at a high speed (thrown via a sling). Despite the speed of his reflexes, they are severely slowed when in armor. If Sevan were on the battlefield in full armor and an arrow was launched at him from ninety feet away traveling at an even higher speed, he would only be able to sense the arrow a few seconds before impact and would be unable to dodge it. At most he could move his body so that the arrow would bounce a piece of armor, although, in the heat of battle, this is unlikely..
Fighting Style – Sevan was taught a family style of fighting that utilizes positioning and directed strength. Although still a learner, he has the basic principles and forms of the style down. Since he fights with a spear like implement, Sevan uses spacing to his advantage when fighting. When using his spear, Sevan holds it with his right hand under the guard and his left hand lower on the grip, thrusting with the spear along his left side. When he thrust or slices, he leaves the center and tips of the spear open to be used to reflect counter-attacks. Sevan is right handed.
Weapons – Sevan wields two weapons: his lance (called a Ordynka-Khegart) and a small short sword.
By far Sevan's main weapon, his Ordynka-Khegart utilizes the reach and precision of a spear with the cutting and stabbing power of a blade. Roughly six and a half feet in length, the top three feet are that of a long, sharp, dual-sided sword. Starting from the tip, the blade expands in width till reaching seven inches. After the blade, a coned hilt guard mushrooms out, with the guard being two inches tall and with a diameter of five inches. From the inside of the hilt, the rest of the metallic spear extends till end in a small ball used for counter-balancing the weapon. The blade and pole are a steel color, with the hilt guard being a pearl white and the ball being a copper tone. He carries this weapon either parallel to the ground by holding it in his right hand in such a way where both ends balance each other or over his right shoulder, using the hilt guard to rest against the top of his shoulder.
If he is forced to discard his Ordynka-Khegart because of cramped conditions, Sevan can rely on his short sword. A simple dual-edged blade, the short sword is mainly used for stabbing attacks to compensate for the Ordynka-Khegart's thrusting and swinging moves. The short sword, from tip to tip, is a steel-like metal. The short sword is kept in a simple leather sheath that Sevan keeps at the his left hip for easy reach.
The Ordynka-Khegart is a gift from his father, while the short sword is a gift from an uncle. When Sevan decided to follow in his father's footsteps and become a mercenary, he was given his father's former Ordynka-Khegart as a parting gift. As a result, he treats the Ordynka-Khegart as his pride and joy, always keeping it in as top of condition as possible. However, being a (heavily) used weapon, it has shown signs of deterioration that Sevan cannot repair with his meager skills. As a result, the spear is lackluster and has a "beat-up" look to it, with small chips in the blade and pole. The short sword was given to Sevan in one of the first stops of his career by an uncle who lived nearby. The short sword is a much newer weapon with no signs of use, unlike the Ordynka-Khegart. Sevan also treasures it, as it is a gift from a family member.
Abilities – Double the Effort: If Sevan is feeling the burn of fatigue from battle or any strenuous activity, then he can rouse himself into doubling his efforts for a minute or so. During this time, his strength temporarily increases to his non-fatigued level. Afterward, his energy and strength return to whatever their status was before invoking this ability. This can only be used once everyday after a good rest, and is restricted if Sevan has any debilitating wounds. Also, if he is already ready to drop from combat when he uses this ability, after its effects wear off, Sevan will proceed to collapse from exhaustion, leaving him basically helpless.
Magic – True to his race, Sevan has trouble using magic; so much so, that he has entirely give up on learning any magic at all. Instead, he relies on allies to provide magical support.
History – Born in a Hume fringe settlement called Inculta, Sevan is the youngest of three children. Inculta is located on a semi-arid plain, an equal mix of Humes and Bangaa, and is generally treated as a small, strategic town. His father Vosgi, a former mercenary, decided to settle down after a lengthy career and start a family with his wife, Siran. Sevan's oldest brother, Aram, left to become a blacksmith several years before Sevan was born. Sevan's older brother, Jirair, was able to tutor Sevan with some of his early lessons before he left to become a warrior. However, after Jirair and his father had an argument, Jirair left in disgrace. Other than that, Sevan's childhood was very typical, complete with a rudimentary education and a reasonably comfortable life. When Sevan became sixteen, he began training, as was custom in his family, for his future career. Sevan, wanting to follow in his father's and older brother's footsteps, decided to become a warrior, earning fame for his family's name. His father trained him in the Khegart family style which utilizes reaching weapons and swinging motions to slash and pierce. After seven years of training, Sevan received his adult rites, which included his the tattooing of his family emblem on his arms. After receiving a few parting gifts, Sevan headed out towards the nearest major city to look for work.
