Promotional Contest

To do something different we are doing a Promotional Contest to kind of help motivate people to be active. Once this contest is over we will continue to do contests (to keep members active). After all we are asking for your time, so why not reward you sometimes.

This contest is FREE to enter and has NO entry fee even though we are giving out 3 prizes (or gifts to the top 3 winner).

The Contest

Rules

1) You must be an active or already a member of RPG Dimension
2) No using other peoples stories.
3) You must write your story using one of the themes mentioned in "Contest" section (also see RULES in the CONTEST section).


Contest

In this very first RPGD contest we are going to test your creative writing skills. Your objective is to simply create a story using one of the following video game themes: Final Fantasy XII (12), The Legend of Dragoon, Rouge Galaxy, Lost Odyessy, Dark Cloud 2, or original work.

The original theme is a theme where you have complete control over your own story. You can not have any representation used from a video game in your story.

What are Themes?
Themes or a Theme will be the basis of your story. Look at a theme as if it where a world. You will write a story based on your theme (world the game takes place in) thus creating your own unique story. So in English lets say you pick Dark Cloud 2 as your theme, than your story can ONLY take place in location parent to this THEME, weapons, magic as well.

Rules
1) You must create a NEW original character that will be your HERO and VILLAIN; so create 2 original new people.
2) You original character can not use the NAME of any character in a THEME (e.g. no Cid or Lloyd).
3) No time traveling.
4) No multiple universes.
5) No killing off main characters in a Theme.
6) No bringing back to life a dead character in a Theme who died (e.g. no Lloyd come backs).
7) You must choose one of the THEMES we listed (e.g. no Final Fantasy 7 themes).
8) Story must have a BEGINNING, MIDDLE, and an END.
9) No falling in love with characters from a Theme (e.g. your hero and villain can't fall in love with Yuni).
10) Story must be at a minimum 6 pages long.
11) Story can not exceed 11 pages.

Your choice of a PS3 or X-box 360 and the game Final Fantasy 13.

1st Place

Final Fantasy 13 (choice of PS3 X360) + your choice of another game.

2nd Place

Your choice of a PSP or NDS game.

Contest Starts--- 10 DEC 2009 (get a head start and start writing now)
Due Date-- 2/26/2010
Last Late Entry Date-- 1 MARCH 2010 (Late entries will be accepted, but for a $5.00 USD fee)
No longer Accepting Entries--- 6 MARCH 2010
Contest Debate Date (time we need to figure out who wins)--- 2 weeks from the date 6 MARCH 2010
Shipping Date--- TBA to winner(s)

FAQ

Ask here...

1) How can you afford these prizes.

a) I simply manage my money and that is all to it.

2) How do we know the contest wont be canceled?

a) That's a fair thought. Simply put it wont, even if it comes to money issues the contest would be extended.

3) What if I live in Japan will I be sent a US version Console or game?

a) No, you can send us a link to a site that sales video game stuff in your countries format or simply request cash (PayPal transfer).
