Internal Monologue:
Midgar.. Left in rubble. The people, so scared. The streets painted red. The murderers were out to get us. All of us. To seek revenge to the planet. To seek revenge to STRIFE...

IC:
Greg ran towards Midgar square. He was going to meet the others here. So they could leave for there journey to the Outskirts. Once again, Greg was late.

Greg ran towards the group. They looked at him annoyed.

"I'm not late, your just really early". That was always Greg's exuse for when he was late to something.

" Lets Go. No route is safe and we'll be spotted unless we split up. Right Everyone get into twos. I'm going on my own. Meet at the Starwalkers Inn. It's not too far from here. Be there by 6:00pm "

Greg disseapeared down a narrow allyway. He pulled out his rod.

" Light "

A spark of light burst out of his rod and hit the ground it lit up the allyway for three or four seconds. Greg could see the path was clear from danger.

"I don't do teamwork!" Ivka shouted, turning to the others adding, "I'll see you there."

Ivka leapt up and began to run, her destination was Starwalkers Inn, she'd meet Greg there. The path was clear as Ivka grasped onto her Lightning materia, her eyes becoming brighter and allowing her to see clearer, she ran down the Midgar streets. Starwalkers Inn... she hadn't been in that sector for years. Has it changed?

"Left...or right?" She asked herself before turning left and continuing her run, holding onto her materia, she leapt into the air, higher than anybody else could imagine and landed on a house roof. She knew the way, it was all coming back.

"I'm not going to let this get to me, not this time. Ivka Lockhart is fearless..." She reassured herself.

Brett walks forth and draws Cosmo Cutter from it's ect-plasmic sheath.

"Well, anyone else wish to go off by themselves? If you wish to do so, then go on." Brett walks off into the darkness of the shadows.

Now where do I go now? Should I go to the Inn or just wonder off into the streets somemore?

After he made his choice to roam the streets somemore, he get's swollowed by the darkness.

Brett Strife will protect the one's he cares dear about.

OOC: ZOMG DIANA YOUR CHARACTER IS EPIC!

IC: Greg walked down the dark, narrow alley as he pondered about his team. He wondered if they were strong enough to look after themselves. One thing was for sure, Ivka would most probably go one her own. Shes like that.

Greg climbed up a nearby pipe to get a good view of where he was. He looked around. He saw Ivka just horizontal to him, she didn't see him though.

"I knew it." Greg muttered to himself.

Greg jumped back down and walked further down the alley. coming up was an exit, into the deserted streets of Midgar. Greg passed a few houses. They were all derelict.

"This place too, huh."
Greg said to himself as he looked at the abandoned houses.

In the corner of Greg's eye he could see the dogs.. The dogs were robotic dogs which are the lowest in the series of killers. Dogs were at the bottom and Sephiroth's descendants were now at the top of the list. So to Greg Dogs werent a big threat at all.

Greg knocked in his Time materia. Now he could see everything slowly. Apart from the fact he could move the fasted now he'd slown down time. Greg wanted to make this a five minute battle at the least. So he slipped on his goggles and observed what materia the dogs had built into them.

" Hmm Only Sense Materia.. "

OOC: Sense materia, observes how much HP an opponent has and what its weaknesses are.

IC: That might come into handy but its too easy to get. Greg decided to skip the battle and ran up the nearby wall.

From where he was now he could see the INN in the distance.

OOC: EDIT: 111post! And 11th thread :D Thats 111/11

As Brett walks toward a near by house he noticed that the house had the mark of Shin-Ra on it.

Damnit! I was hoping to finally be able to get a good night's sleep. But nooo, THEY have to disturbe this area too. Well, not for long they won't.

Just as he goes to move toward the house, "Help me. Somebody help me!!!"

Brett freezes where he stands. "Was that?"

Wasting no time he runs off toward the direction of the scream.

Please...Don't let it be.....

Running faster than he has ever run before, Brett keeps wondering who was shouting for help.

Please don't let it be her. It sounded so much like her. Besides, who's out at this time of night? They all know its not safe!!!! If only I was more like....

He stops his train of thoughts as he comes upon the scene. After taking a quick glance, Brett notices that there are five cyberhounds and in the center of it, a little girl.

"Hold on! I'm comin'." Running towards the closest cyberhound, the last thought he had.....

She reminds me of her.

"Help me. Somebody help me!!!"

Greg heard someone screaming for help. But he couldn't tell where it was coming from. He pushed the Time materia into his arm. He jumped up into the air whilst doing a somersault.
The screaming was killing his ears, before it was loud but now Greg heard loud and slow.

He ran around the corner. He saw Brett running in slow motion. Greg's time materia was running out. He pulled out his rods and wacked one of the beasts off the girl.

The time materia wore off and the cyberhound sprayed a black liquid into his eyes. Blinding liquid. Blinds someone for a few hours. Greg didn't worry though. He slipped on his goggles. He could see the materia in the creatures. So this was good enough vision for him.

He couldn't see anything but materia. Any other object was simply a blue blur. Greg lunged at the Cyber hounds and pulled up the girl.

"Brett i'll take the girl with me, you get this buggers dead"

Greg pulled the girl out into the street.

"You okay, got a family?" Greg asked the quiet girl.

"They're dead.." The girl whispered.

"I'll take you somewhere safe."
Greg could see the girl had a materia in her. Only the average though.

Greg grabbed the girl and pulled her through the streets. He could just about see where he was going.

After walking for an hour the blindness began to wear off.
"We're here"

Greg looked up at the Starwalkers Inn. The girl could be safe here. The Inn keeper was always adopting orphans.

Greg pushed open the door.
the Inn Keeper looked at Greg and said,
"Another child? These cold-blooded killers."

Greg handed the man the girl and went upstairs into the pub.

Ivka was near to the Starwalkers Inn, she could see Greg going in. She ran towards the Starwalkers Inn, all around her was catastrophe, the sector wasn't the same as it was years ago. Thoughts running through her head that the Starwalkers Inn was exactly where Seventh Heaven was, the place where her grandmother used to run. She ran towards it, getting closer and entered the Inn. She saw a young girl, she looked in pain.

"Another?" She asked. Not expecting a response.

Ivka shut her eyes and began to think about her childhood. The stories her grandmother; Tifa used to tell her. Stories of war, and her family. The damned Sephiroth who killed her own father, and the day she saw the end of him. Ivka knew that Sephiroth was back, was this the first sign of his return? Young victims becoming plagued? It's over...

"Greg...?" She asked, looking up at him.

" Yeah, another one.. But before you ask it was of one of the group of murderers, Cyberhounds were sent by them to search and destroy anything living in the streets, she seeked shelter so they attacked " Greg looked at Ivka. She was looking down.

Greg knew what she was thinking about, her father. She was worried about how the girl must of been feeling, the fact her parents were dead.

"Ivka, I know how you feel.. Just don't think about what you can't change. The reason we re-made Strife was to rid of Sephiroth for good, you know that." Greg reached into his bag.

Greg pulled out the STRIFE ribbons.
"Yuffie once told me this is what our Grandparent's used to wear when they joined strife. They wore these red ribbons around they're arms. Here this one was Tifa's.."

Greg passed Ivka the armband.
"Oh and Bretts on his way."

Ivka tied the ribbon around her the top of her right arm, she felt as if Tifa passed through her. Ivka thanked Greg and came to her feet. The poor young girl lying there was going to die, and there was no treatment. Ivka walked over to the bar, where she sat and ordered a drink.

"Triple, neat please." She ordered.

The drink was served and it was gone in seconds, it released Ivka from deep pain, she thanked the barman and got up. She watched the girl in agony, she had no idea what had attacked her, but it was going to kill her. Either way, this girl would die. The Cyberhounds...what creatures are they? Who would murder someone freely, without a reason. Ivka looked away, and took out her materia.

"Greg, you have to kill her. Stop her misery." She said, it was the right thing to do, she added. "If you don't do it now, she'll die a painful, slow death."

Ivka wanted the girl to be free, it was the only reasonable thing to do, it was a last resort. Nothing could save this girl. She was too young for treatment, and her materia was useless. Ivka waited on Greg's word, and waited on Brett's arrival.

" The Cyberhounds.. They are the mere servents of whom are dealing the killings.. The descentants of Sephiroth.. "

"This girl wont die.. When I saw her before. She had a materia developing inside her body. She said that her mother gave it to her. If i'm right in saying, this materia. Is ancient. Only the Cetra can create this Materia. When I saw it earlier it was just a normal materia. But now its flowing with life. The Lifestream is helping her. The pain she feels, is the Lifestream entering her body. In the quickest way possible. The heart.."

Greg looked at Ivka, she seemed relieved. "Look its 11:40pm, we gotta get some sleep."

Greg never talked like this, he was ussualy quiet and kept to himself. But somehow. Ivka made Greg feel happy. She Made Greg forget about what was happening.

"Night"

OOC: The girl will live :D Shes only a mere descendant of a cetra not a full one, she can't do anything to save the earth! She lives :DD :awesome:

(OOC: :yay: Just wanted to add some drama.)

Ivka settled in the Inn, it was peaceful. In the bed opposite her was Greg, and Ivka knew that he felt something for her. She didn't want to accept it, she was far too selfish, she couldn't admit feelings. Ivka turned over in her bed, facing the wall. It was a quiet night. The sounds of crickets settled her in her bed. Although, she didn't want to close her eyes.

"Dreams are for the innocent, you are not innocent Ivka..." She thought to herself.

Ivka shut her eyes before she cried. She quietly sobbed, it was far too quiet for anybody to hear. Ivka was too careful, and too aware for anybody to notice her emotions. She soon fell asleep. Hoping she would be able to dream. But nothing came of it. Ivka fell asleep in her warm bed. No dreams, only nightmares. She began to think...

"Ivka! Help me!"

A woman shouted in her nightmare, the sounds of thunder, rain and screaming sounded in her head. This woman was her sister, Laina, and she had died because of Ivka.

"Ivka! Please!"

Ivka watched as her nightmare unfolded, she couldn't stop the imagery. Laina was running from something, a dark something. It was after her, Ivka began to shake in her sleep, hoping it would all go away...but it would not. Laina was killed, by something. What was it? Ivka awoke to the sound of snoring, she was angry and got out of bed. She left the room and exited to the balcony, where she sat on a chair and cried.

"...why can't I end it!?" She screamed.

Greg awoke to a loud opening of the balcony door. Weary eyed, Greg stood up and saw Ivka standing there. Greg ran towards her.

"Ivka.. Is it about her.. Your.. You can't help it, it was never your falt your sister died."

Greg stood next too Ivka, he'd never seen her this emotionaly unstable before. Ivka was ussualy stubborn and selfish. It was like Greg was seeing what Ivka was hiding underneath her other personality.

"I think I have something which will help you sleep better Ivka, wait here.."

Greg ran back into his room and grabbed a small pouch.

"Its called a DonDon berry, remember these? Before the descendants of Sephiroth came, these bushes grew everywhere. It clears the mind of tension, therefore your feelings about whats going on, Ivka.. I'm worried about you.."

OOC: :awesome:

"I don't want your...berries." Ivka said, pushing Greg's hand away, adding. "I wasn't crying, and...my...just, let me be. Okay!?"

Ivka went back into the room and got back into bed. She was angry, angry with herself. Why! Why? What did she do to deserve the eternal pain of Laina. Laina was selfish, why did she do that? How could she die and leave the burden on Ivka...why, why would anyone want to hurt someone so much that way.

"I just want to be free. Leave me alone Laina." Ivka said.

The face of Laina came into Ivka's vision, she tried to attack it, but she fell into deep sleep, Ivka wanted nothing but freedom. That is why she began fighting, fighting for freedom. Maybe joining Soldier was a bad idea, but...at least...it was a good decision. Ivka didn't have a nightmare, nor a dream. She had a peaceful sleep. She slipped into a happy state of mind. Tomorrow would be a good day.

"I don't want your berries.."

Greg watched Ivka storm back into her bed. Greg felt sorry for her, for one person to feel that they've killed someone..

Greg left the room and left the inn. He was going to have a walk.

Greg climbed onto the roof of the inn. He gazed up at the moonlight sky. It was beautiful. But then Greg thought to himself about Ivka. Why did she have to hide herself away. Keep private.

As the night went on Greg returned to the room. Ivka was asleep. He didn't want to disturb her so he went to the bed of the little girl who was injured. Her cuts were gone, as Greg had suspected.

Knowing the girl was alright Greg retired to his bed.

That night Greg had a dream. He had a dream that he was with his grandmother Yuffie.

"Greg. I used to know an Ancient once.. But Sephiroth killed her. She saved our planet. No one ever understood why he killed her, he too was an ancient."

Greg remembered that time he talked to Yuffie, but the dream was diferent.

"Greg. Save Jenova. Save Sephiroth and get our revenge."

Greg looked up in his dream. It wasn't Yuffie anymore. It was Sephiroth. Sephiroth lifted his sword and slashed Greg's face.

Sephiroth was getting to STRIFE, in the one most powerful way possible. Our dreams.

Greg woke up in a flash. He felt his face. Blood. Blood was dripping off his face. Greg ran to the bathroom. He looked at himself this wasnt' a dream. He was bleeding.

OOC: So now we know Sephiroth can hurt us in our dreams ^_^

OOC: and Ivka can't dream :awesome:

Ivka was woken by Greg's sudden rush, she got out of bed and saw blood trailing to the bathroom. She rushed and saw Greg in washing his face fast, she ran over to him and grabbed a towel and covered his face. She wiped the blood away, hoping the scars would heal. Had he done this to himself?

"Greg! What happened!" She shouted.

He was obviously in extreme pain, she cleaned his face off and took him to his bed. She removed the towel and his cuts were deep. She didn't know what to do. Would he die? What would happen. She ran over to the young girl, her materia...it was Cure. Ivka took the materia and returned to Greg. She held it over him, she had no idea how to use it, it wasn't hers. She pressed it hard.

"Cure!" She used it, and it released a beautiful green essence and light.

Greg was being cured by Ivka, but this materia was draining something from her. As if it was taking life out of herself. As Greg became more healed and his wounds began to fade, Ivka collapsed. She was out cold, and she didn't know why. The time was passing by and Greg was the only one around.

OOC: Since you guys started without me...

Tony awoke with a grunt and peeped out. Cyberhounds were patrolling the area right in front of him. Tony glanced off to the side and saw the Starwalker's Inn right next door. Funny, so far as he knew, Cyberhounds did NOT patrol in front of such a public place. Unless they were looking for someone very specific. Say, for example, Brett. Tony debated the idea of sneaking past, but because they were hounds, there was no chance of that happening. So, he went with option B that his grandfather taught him.

Rising up slowly and silently, he brought his gun to bear on the closest cyberhound. He wanted that one down as fast as possible. Aiming carefully, he then suddenly unloaded on it, attempting to turn the machine into a cheese grater. The others looked towards the noise to see Tony firing like mad at one their own. They rushed towards him. This entire time, Tony only roared one thing over and over again in a voice that the inhabitants of the Inn would hear:

"DIE YOU MONGREL MACHINES AND GO BACK TO THE PIT WHERE YOU CAME FROM YOU FURRY RAT BASTARDS!!!

OOC: Tony also inherited his Grandfather's hobby of cursing.

" Ivka stop using that materia, it will drain your lifespan.. Sephiroth slashed me with his sword in my dream and now i'm bleeding. The bleeding has stopped but its gonna scar. "

Greg took the materia from Ivka, normal humans were unable to use Cetra materia without being harmed..

"You rather lucky.. That you can't dream."

By now it was becoming morning and what was going to be a good nights rest was interupted by a long series of events.

"I'm going downstairs to the pub to get breakfast, come if you like. You don't have to"

Greg thumped his way down the stairs, how could Sephiroth do this..

Greg went to the pub and sat down. Greg read the sign on the pub door. Open at 10:00am. Thats another ten minutes.

"Guess I gotta wait.."

Sitting outside the Starwalkers Inn, Brett can't stop thinking about that little girl.

Who is she? Not only does she sound like her, but she resenbles HER as well. Who the hell is she?

Getting up, he places Cosmo Cutter back in its sheath and walks inside.

"I'm going to sleep. Wakke me when it's time to leave."

With that, he heads up-stairs and enters his room. As he lays there trying to capture sleep the, same thought runs through his mind.

Where ever you are, I hope your safe.

"Brett, I will rule this planet, just as my mother tried to do many century's ago. And i'll start by killing you" Suddenly, a sword shoots through the darkness. "Good-bye"

The next morning dawned. Ivka was outside the Starwalkers Inn, she was waiting for Greg and Brett. She knew they would take ages. She crossed her arms and waited patiently. Last night...what happened? What had happened to Greg? That materia, it hurt me. Ivka didn't want to dwell on her past, she had told so many lies and kept so many secrets that if she told the truth, she wouldn't be herself, she'd be someone else.

"Ivka!" Laina was running through her mind.

Ivka shut her eyes, and shook her head. Before opening them, voices were inside her head. She stared, emotionless around the sector. It was dull, dark and pretty much empty. Ivka decided not to wait much longer and looked around. People were ill, homeless and poor. A typical slum. This, was by far the better of the seven. Ivka watched naked children as they scavenged for food, the imagery of poverty running in her head.

"Excuse me..." A poor, eldery woman approached.

"Yes?" Ivka asked.

"Could you spare 10 Gil? Please?" She begged.

"I'm sorry." Ivka shook her head and turned away.

Ivka realised she was far too selfish, why didn't she just hand it over. Ivka is living a far too good under-rated life and this woman...has no life. Ivka returned to the Starwalkers, no sign of Greg or Brett. She looked down at her watch: "3:40PM", and she thought, where are they?

"Talk about boots and boys..." She said, sighing and rolling her eyes.

Greg left the pub after eating his breakfast and head back to the Inn. He walked to his room.

"Ivka, I brought you something to eat from the pub."

Greg threw a packet of crisps and a drink onto Ivka's bed where she was sitting. Greg turned away and walked onto the balcony.

Then Greg heard a man shouting.
"DIE YOU MONGREL MACHINES AND GO BACK TO THE PIT WHERE YOU CAME FROM YOU FURRY RAT BASTARDS!!!

Greg turned swiftly to Ivka.
" Its Tony. "

Greg ran down the stairs and noticed that the room next door was vacant. Greg pushed it open.

"Hey Brett! Come on! Why didn't you tell us you arrived?"

Greg continued down the stairs and called Ivka,

"Iv, Bretts here hes in the other room."

Greg burst through the enteance door and met up with Tony.

"I can see you made it then."

Greg chuckled and inserted his Time materia.

Greg ran at the cyber hound and punched it sending it flying into the air. Greg then pulled out his rod and gave it a hard beating. The cyber hound flew to the ground and the time materia wore off.

Greg observed the hound. It dropped a materia.

"Sence. I'm keeping this materia"

Greg picked up the materia and placed it in his wrist.
