I write poetry quite a lot, so I'll dump my favourites in here.

Progress Report - I Am Missing You To Death

The time slowly, oh so slowly, fades into tomorrow
Yet another day to hide my discomfort, my sorrow
On fishing line, string my hope and my silent cries
Cast out, reel in, and forget away the goodbyes

Update: I'm missing you already...

Loneliness greets the night with my sparkling tears
Fall onto my cheek and cascade, my falling fears
My pillow slip's sodden, my bed's sheets mangled
Fishing line caught, my attached hopes all tangled

Update: I need you more than ever...

Morning dawns, sunlight surges through my window
Time slowly, oh so slowly, has faded into tomorrow
Today, yesterday's tomorrow, arrives with power
Time again passes, optimism fades with every hour

Update: I thought you'd be here...

Confusion ceases my thoughts, perplexity, she invades
She doesn't taunt me, I sigh; it's effortless to facade
She takes the rod, in one hand and swings it to the side
Hope destroyed, you've disappeared, I have to now abide

Update: Please help me...

A progress report for you to read, silently, with time
As the updates dispense I begin a life, sinful yet divine

Update: You never reeled me back in...

Update: Progress report complete

Warning Signs

They say that they should have seen it all coming
As her heart strings were always slowly strumming
Cries in the night remained unheard through her days
They could have prevented this in so many ways
Her smile, they could have formed with their words
But, oh no, her worries were forever left unheard

She had planned it out, her death she would write
The time, the place, and the events for that night
They would see the papers scattered, no curiosity
For in their eyes, she was but a mere monstrosity
She was a surplus child, with no place in the world
She was nothing but a hassle, an unwanted little girl

She was a lonely child from the beginning, a mistake
Their love for her, her parents, could not even fake
Because on that fateful day, when they both realised
That a baby would be born, her love was then denied
Anger replaced the smiles, screams replaced the joy
Especially when they heard she was too old to destroy

They say that they should have seen it all coming
As her heart strings were always slowly strumming
She was gradually growing into a beautiful young thing
Even though her heart was empty, a love always lacking
She was her own person, until she finally did give in
The unwanted little girl finally paid for their sins

Taking the knife from her heart, sliding along her wrists
All the time, knowing true, that she wouldn't be missed
An unwanted little girl met her unwanted little end
When she decided that her heart would never fully mend
Never noticing her tears, her letters, and hidden smiles
No one ever took notice of her desperate warning signs

The Bright Side Of Suffering

My eyes follow the empty words you type
Doused in heartache and shattered dreams
You're worthless, so you have said before
Yet a young girl, at heart, to me it seems

Do you feel as though you have to impress?
Or to grow up to be what they all expect?
You're your own person, although hurting
I've told you that no one is ever perfect

You want to be loved; well I'm here for that
You want to be cared for, that's my job too
I'll hold your hand from a distance, until
The day I finally show my devotion to you

You may not believe so right now, or ever
But there really is a bright side to suffering
You'll realise who is there to hold you up
And that this pain is not all for nothing

Because on the other side, I'll be there
Even if you say you're really meant to fail
I'll be here through all of the ups and downs
The anger, tears and when you're most frail

Let me tell you, you don't have to live up
To someone's abstract idea of the real you
I'll never judge you, always be by your side
There is a bright side to suffering, it's true
