thought id throw a huge block of text for everyone to read and critisize my small nieve mind. Kgo. Just a storyline ive come up with, and yes its changed a good dozen times, and still is morphing.
Remnants
Backstory
p34, otherwise know as earth (the planet that the story is obviously based on), is an aftificial planet created a millenia ago by AI beings, who's soul purpose was to decipher logic and reason, or some random computer banter of the sort. The planet was created as a prison, and research center for the human race, and the essence they possessed, aka magic, summoning, etc etc. They studied, experimented and researched the ability humans had to summon, manipulate and create magic, and could not understand the human spirit. Along with humans, they also inprisoned creatures, called remnants (aka, summons, lol.) which were eventually, a failed experiment. The ai left the planet, and triggered a failsaif they had created to wipe out all living things on earth, called mana sicknessm, which drained the lfie essence out of them, and eventually would kill them. Since humans, and all things livig on earth were mana dependent unlike the ai, it surely would wipe them out. But ovecourse it didnt, DUH. I mean, were just that cool, ya know? But, overall if one is infected with mana sickness, they become inept to using magic.
Lets speed things up a bit. oh, a few thousand years later, pretty much everyone is oblivious to the ai ever existing, no records or evidence. All creatures, besides humans, are descendants somehow of a remnant, and the remnants are now thought of as god like creatures. Technology rivals something of the early 1900's, not even the entire earth is mapped out, let alone electricity be DEVILS MAGIC, harhar. Nations at war? a time of peace? Everyone's having a huge party? THATS NOT WHAT WERE FOCUSING ON. jeeze. Its possible though, who doesnt love cake?
Anywho, mana sickness is now very rare, and is thought to be a birth defect, as 1 in a few thousand children is born inept to using magic, and thus live a short life-span. It is considered highly infectious, and the children are either hospitalized, qaurentined, or slaughtered at birth. awe D:
Main plot and character time. Havent given him a name, or really any specifics, other then he is born with mana sickness, or so he thinks. A crude way to slow the effects of the disease, was to inject raw mana into the bloodstream, with not so user friendly side-affects. A drug high, extreme pain. Yep, he's a dope head, but in reality, he is one of few humans, just born without magic, and not being infected. Raw mana, pretty much has the same properties as crude oil, but its blue and shiny to boot! Now, human curiosity knows no bounds, as ruins and traces of the ancient former masters of the humans are gaining popularity and reputation. Uncovering new remnants, lost and forgotten magics, and uncovering the secrets to there long forgotten past.
So, after lots of sidetracking and my dull sense of humor, here we are! The infection, mana sickness, starts an epidemic. Hundreds, increasing to the thousands are becoming infected and face a dark, painfull demise.
So, your planet is fake, your gods dont exist, your ancestors are space men, and to boot you are all going to die. Game over man!
