Why is it that when I attack with one of these weapons the monster in question appears to die, then reappears again, with what seems like full health?

It's really getting on my nerves now.....

I'm not sure if this belongs in the help booth tbh, but I'm wondering if anyone else had this problem

i haven't had that problem before. your game most likely is glitched.

I wonder if it's because I'm playing the PS1 version.... it rarely works for me, I try not to use these types of weapons but it's the only weapon I have for Setzer so I mstuck with it until I get him a new one......once I get out of this godawful cave

good luck to you meantime use his slots ability instead so you won't have to worry about it.

I think this is because the weapon can randomly kill an enemy, but the enemy is undead, so it doesn't work, and reappears. It's happened to me a few times too.

i just remembered something. in FFIV cecil's darkness sword also did the same thing, but was useless against undead. maybe the same thing is happening in other games?

Yes, when undead enemies are killed using instant death attacks, the enemy revives itself. Don't use instant death weapons against them and using healing magic actually hurts them, keep that in mind.

Yeah, zombie/undead enemies are killed & revived w/full health if you use one of those weapons...just switch weapons... (or use a Phoenix Down on it! )

Same for Edgar's Chainsaw critical.
