I wasn't sure if this is in the right place, so apols if it isn't.
I have a problem with either my ps2 itself, my mam's slim ps2 or the two games I was torn about playing next.
First is Rogue Galaxy. At first it loaded up quite slow until the game itself, then all was well. I had played it at first on another ps2 which belongs to my mam. I took it home and played it fine on my own ps2. The next day it just refused to load at all and everytime I try it just makes one hell of a noise.
Second I tried Suikoden 5. There was no problems at all, I've gotten passed the first war game and was on my way to Lordlake I think it's called. Again I took the game over to the other ps2 to show my mam a game I figured she'd like, a-ok. I bring it home the next day and it gets barely 5 seconds into the voiced scene with the father/daughter who own the ship I needed to charter and it seizes completely. A disc clean made it worse and it now has the same issue as Rogue Galaxy, only it can reach the title screen.
Every other game I've tried lately has had no problems at all, used and new. Rogue and Suikoden were preowned but the discs look fine and just have the usual slight wear marks you'd expect. I've had no error messages, the two games just refuse to load anymore but luckily other games are ok.
Do you think my ps2 is on it's way out, and will probably reject other games later? Is it just the two games? Or is my mam's ps2 a spawn of satan that kills discs that are not Final Fantasy or Megaten :notfunny: (as those were taken over too and work fine lol).
