okay, so I already beat Bahamut but now I am traveling down the center's levels and I can't figure out how to save enough pressure to use the machine at the bottom??!! Am I missing a trick? I get all the way to the bottom where there is an underwater lake and is says I need 10 pressure points but you have 0-4 depending on what amounts you used above. What am I missing?

the problem is no one talks about going down the shaft after obtaining Bahamut, but I will look Thank you!

I consulted my handy dandy FF8 Strategy Guide for this one, hopefull you haven't found an answer or I'll be wasting ym time.

Floor 1: 4 units spent auto to open the door to floor 2
Floor 2: spend 2 units to open the door to floor 3:sector 2
Floor 3: (i think this is where your trick comes into play) use the monitor on the left under the stairs and spend 4 units to open the steam room. use station to recharge 7 units, use the second station in the main room to spend 1 unit, and open the door to floor 4
Floor4: spend 1 unit to open door
Floor 5: spend 1 unit to open door...again
Floor 6: spend 4 units to open the door into the excavation site.

You should have the necessary 10 units to activate the final control. Good luck with Ultima Weapon btw, it's been a couple years since I played but I remember having the time of my life facing this boss. It's nice to see people are still enjoying FF8 so long after it came out, it's my favourite FF no question!

Ultima Weapon tips from Farroshus's strategy guide
-use doomtrain at beginning of battle to cut defenses
-dont forget to draw GF Eden from Ultima Weapon, if you get gameover don't forget everytime you try again
-you might want to level up some more if you have too much trouble! This boss is no pushover.

If you're Level 40 - Ultima Weapon's HP 94000
Level 50 - 105000
Level 60 - 116000
Level 30 - 83000

Hopefully you can get a ballpark HP from that! Hope it helps!

Well I had relied to this, but I guess it was erased when the forum was reset...


I was able to get down to Ultimate Weapon. I had to have Zell in my party. After you pass the steam room the first time without opening it, it dissappears for ever, so you have to put Zell in your party and with his 'awesome' computer skills he opens the bottom door without steam power so you have enough to resurrect Ultimate Weapon


Now beating the boss is a whole other story

Make sure your characters use Aura and Haste. You should be ok, and have someone revive a character if they get attacked that giant light beam thing.
