Photoshop elements 5 help

Im having problems getting colors on the color picker for the foreground and back ground. when i go to choose a color say a dark blue it shows up black or a dark grey when i try and color or light grey when I choose a color like green.

so i cant get any colors, only greys , help!

You may have got it on black and white mode. To fix this, at least on photoshop anyway, click on Image > Mode > RGB Color. =]

ah thank you! but i seem to always figure out the problem 5 minutes later after I post the issue. lol
