So, weren't pets supposed to come into play in these new areas? I haven't seen any, and I definitely need their help... these monsters are crazy strong, and give out mediocre XP. > _ >

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell but there are 3 pets so far. Shiva, Ifrit (as always) and the uber strong Tonberry! Shiva comes from beating the boss Shiva at the Ice Cavern and Ifrit comes likewise except you have to beat the Fire Caverns. Tonberry comes from getting 20 Crown Fragments and beating King Tonberry, I don't think you should try that one. Ifrit is the one for you I'd say.

Yes, the tonberry is the stronger of the 3. Both Shiva and Ifrit are IDENTICAL. so choosing one over the other based on stats won't get ya anywhere. You can decide to stare at a uber-kewl fire demon as your pet or a uber-hawt ice diva.
