I looked and couldn't find any thread on this so here I go. Has anybody played this version of this epic game? I recently downloaded it and I have to say that I kind of like it better than the PS1 version.

Mostly because the character models are noticeably smoother (you can actually see there mouths in some shots:confused:) and the transition from area to area is also smoother as is the battle enter screen. Other than that its the same game through and through, just looks better(in my opinion)

Anybody else played this version?

I beat the game once on my PC and its pretty much same as playing it on PS...
I just prefer PS version because its better to play with joystick than typing all the time on keyboard :)

I played it on PC before I owned a Playstation. They fixed some of the translation screwups. It was mostly the same, except for a couple of weird things. They added mouths to the map character models, which was okay most of the time, but Sephiroth's mouth was this big round circle. Not good. Also, chocobo racing was pretty awkward.

No, I would've liked to play it, but I couldn't find it anywhere... haha. But I heard that there was no difference...

I played it on PC and it was fine. The only thing that could be annoying at times was the controls. I remember when I was on the motorcycle I only knew one of the buttons for attacking so I could only attack on one side because I don't think it let me pause during the game so I couldn't check what I assigned it to.

I tried to play it on the PC recently, but found it almost impossibe with my graphics card, so I just played the PS1 Version. There aren't any huge differences anyway. Not like FF8, with the chocobo world thing being included.

The PC version was cool and all, I've seen one of my cousins play it, but the music didn't seem right because they were MIDIs. Some of the music was off and didn't sound right. Same thing with some of the colors on the screen, but that's about it. For me it wasn't too bad.

Funny, I played a bit of it on PC the last two days. I got all the good patches for it too. I stopped and gave up for a couple reasons:

1. The reason I got it in the first place was under the misconception that the things I downloaded for it would make it look like this:

But that's only for the Advent Children mod which as far as I know, you can't find anymore.

I found other sweet looking mods but the creators of said mods won't share them. So fuck them.

2. I didn't know he music in the PC version was just MMIDIs. I tried using FF7music but it didn't work. I think it might have been because I was using ISOs instead of the disks. Dunno. I just gave up anyway.

3. The FMVs were grainy. All the cinematics had little flickering and stuff in them.

So with a combination of those three things I said "Screw this" and just went back to playing it on my PSX Emulator.

Besides...if the awesome music wasn't enough, the PS1 script is reason enough to play it over the PC Version.
"This guy are sick."
