I read an article on a Danish gaming site about a new system called OnLive Microconsole. Apparently this little streaming device will allow you to play games on your Mac, PC, or even TV no matter how graphically demanding they are and how good your system is. The game will be run on the company's server and you will then stream the game with only a milisecond of lag.

Personally I think it sounds too good to be true, and completely unrealistic. I do think that it is quite interesting all the same though.

The CEO of onlive claims the system will work like a charm. Beta testing starts supposedly in a couple months, so I think we'll see then.

Well thanks for chipping in Mr. street teamer, but I've seen too many train wreck gaming systems made by smaller companies to immediately jump aboard the band wagon (Phantom, Gizmondo, etc). It's all very interesting and stuff, but I'll believe it when I see it :P (If I ever see it)

I don't think so, Sir Kenneth. I think it sounds interesting. I'm sure you know that OnLive is a test ground for new tech and that gaming has always been on the forefront to a lot of new tech. I would not be surprised if it will be a big hit in the business sector.

i can personally say i just started using Onlive and it is nothing short of amazing. you can have a free account which allows you to purchase games from their library. OR you have choose the paid membership route (10$ a month) which allows you to play any of their games for free. if that makes sense.

the only draw back is if you are playing on wifi dont expect the game to be 100% smooth.. but if you plug in the old ethernet cable its flawless.

i suggest signing up and trying it out. signing up is free and every games gives you a 30 minute free trial. so try it out, see what you think.
if you do sign up, add me to your friends list, forrealee
