Ok folks... They're 50. 50!!!!!!!!!

FFXIIRW has nothing more nothing less than 50 ESPERS! 50!
We count 13 from XII, plus Shiva, Ifrit, Odin (finally back) and Gilgamesh.
They have:
5 elements: Fire, Ice, Thunder, WAter (If I'm not mistaken)
3 categories: Magical, Physical and Aerial(Aerial for what)
3 ranks: like XII
And that is all I know about the Espers in RW
 
Are you serious? I'd like to see where you got this information from; meaning the source. Why in the world would a game have...that many Espers? That's ludicrous.
 
I'm pretty sure VI had an ungodly amount of espers in it.

And taken from the Final Fantasy Wikia:

"Summons

Summons are featured heavily in Revenant Wings. There are 50 summons in Revenant Wings, from the Espers of Final Fantasy XII, to returning originals like Shiva and Ifrit. They will incorporate 5 elements; Fire, Ice, Thunder, Earth, and None. From the 5 elements, summons are further categorized into 3 groups: Aerial, Physical, and Magical. Finally, each group will come in 3 ranks, with higher ranks being more powerful, but being more expensive to summon."

Not exactly sure how that works....it's kind of confusing.

Well i found the RW site, and they have a section about summons....sadly it's in Japanese. If anyone cares to translate it for me, here's the site: http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ff12rw/

On a side note, i tried translating the main page with Firefox...and this is why internet translators dont work:

it's insane. Either all the summons will be worthless. or they'll grow up so technically there WILL be 50 summons...we just wont have control over all of them at once XD

But 50 summons for just Vaan and Penelo is just insane =/
 
I read somewhere (though i cant for the life of me remember where) that it's just the 17 summons, but they level up...so...maybe it's like pokemon. There's just 17 summons but they go through enough stages to make it look like 50.
 
Well 17 x 3 = 51. So maybe all of them "Evolve" 3 times and one only "evolves" twice..or maybe some of them "evolve" like 4 times...it should be interesting though ^_^

That's pretty much what it says VR. Its not news or info about the summons itself. If you look at the rest of the page, most of it is about wallpapers and marketing for the game.

Under Lemures there is a summon topic that is just WAYYYYY over my head. Sorry
 
Well there was a small section on summons...but since the text was directly in a picture...that wouldnt translate. I have no idea how much info it would have given anyway, it was like a paragraph and a few small sentences.
