Anyone bought this game yet? I just picked up, and my god is this game gorgeous. It's so bright and colorful and the sprites are extremely detailed. I'm not very far in it, i just got past the third stage and beat that PAIN IN THE ASS boss Belial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5CGtLJbwEU
I swear to god that's one of the most annoying boss fights ever. Not only does the dragon have normal headbutt and charge attacks, but fairies will show up from time to shoot arrows at you AND random debris falls from the sky, THEN Belial will create a giant vacuum and suck all the debris toward him, which you have to dodge as well.
None of that would be quite as miserable if it werent for the lag. The PS2 simply cannot handle all the sprites on the screen at the same time, so it lags more often than a Dynasty Warriors game. Not fun.
Really fun things about this game include:
Stages are circular, so it's possible to run behind bosses and attack them, rather than trying to jump over them.
The map shows your location, as well as that of your enemies, which is nice if you're far away from them and want to know what direction they're coming from.
You can grow food (berries, to be specific) right in the middle of battle thanks to seeds. Also, eating food not only restores your health but gives you EXP that counts toward your HP growth.
The art style and game itself are just beautiful.
You can actually choose to have the spoken dialogue in Japanese, which is very nice for people like me who prefer the original voices.
