ok well im just after watching a video of a lvl 7 group hitting for 9999 and im wondering what can i do to make me hit that at such a low level?... iv missed out on a few gfs and im lvl 20 odds with all chars and on disc 3... Also how do i get lion heart and what is the best junction set up!?

Not sure how they were doing that damage at such a low level, my guess is cheating unless someone knows any different :wacky:

Get 100 of all the best magic stocked and junctioned (Aura, meteor, full life curaga that shizz)

For the Lionheart you need 12 pulse Ammo, either refine energy crystals, laser cannons or a power generator :monster: (ruby dragons/mobile type 8, blitz and the lunatic pandora has a power generator if you did the dream squence with laguna right)

The island closest to hell has the blue dragons that drop the dragon fangs

Refine the minotaur card for adamintine

Oh and refining 10 elnoyle cards = 1 energy crystal

One special thing you should know is that the lower your party level is, the lower your enemy's level is. The only difference between you and your enemy is that you can junction magic to your statistics, and they can't.

If you're at level five, and your enemy is at level five...and you have 100 fires stocked to your defense (which can basically be done by constantly drawing magic during battle and then running away), you'll do more damage to them they they'll do to you...even though you're the same level...

^.^
Stay at a low level...remember beating bosses doesn't give you any exp, so no need to worry about leveling up as long as you just run away from every fight possible. XD

I completed FF8 a while back. I decided to pick it up again and give it a whirl (nostalgic, I guess) assuming I'd be able to beat my last time.

A question that I use to have spawned back in my memory, something that I just couldn't really understand, that is since there are so many items/cards that can be converted to magic, and so many magics to be junctioned, how do players who play FF8 figure which works the best? Obviously there is the guide or walkthroughs, but I mean for those that don't, or don't want to use one. Is it just continuous trial and error until you find the best settings to junction?

Thanks :neomon:

No, it depends on the parties average level. If someone is level 5, other person is 6, and someone else is level 7 then monsters will be at level 6.

It's about half trial and error and half common sense. You just have to think about what stat you're trying to improve and what spells you have that "make sense" with that stat. For example, if you're trying to Junction to speed, 100 Firagas will make it go up a bit, but what would make it go up even more? A speed-related spell, like Haste. Spells like Curaga and Full-life are good for HP. Ultima is good for everything! Protect is good for defense. So you just have to go through and figure out which category of spells matches which stats.
