...and I still sort of like it, if only for nostalgic purposes.

But in all seriousness, the soundtrack is actually not bad, and the story was cute. It was like the toddling little brother of the older and far more serious IV/V/VI.

Did anyone else here get introduced to Final Fantasy through this game? It was the reason I picked up number 4, and then got in to number 9. The rest kind of took off from there.

Yes this was my first official FF game. :) I find myself playing this game at times and really remember how something so simple can be......so much fun. I mean games nowadays have to have an open world and all this other crap. But playing this game proves that you dont need all that hoopla to have a good game. I remember playing this as a kid not even knowing that this was a FF game, it wasn't until I played FFVII for the first time that I put two and two together. ;)

Yeah, this game was actually one of the first video games I've ever played. You're right about the music, it's excellent.

As a kid the storyline didn't seem thin to me, but I guess it's pretty obvious now that it is.

I still have this game though, and I play it through from time to time, which doesn't really take long at all (ha!).

I went through it once and while not on par with the other FFs I can say that I actually enjoyed playing it. Nothing memorable, but it was a fun one time ride.
